James. I am interested in what (if anything) you do about feat selection for generation of characters above say level 10. Once you are rolling a character of that level you are more likely to select feats that are more optimized than if your character was built up organically from level 1. I generally insist on some form of justification for he feats taken, but truth be told you can make up something to justify most things. Is this just part of the fun of a high level character build??

1)On a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate all six star wars movies?
2)Have you ever disliked a movie so much that you actually left the movie theatre before the ended?
3)Well what are your 10 favorite early level(1st-4th)wizard spells to use as a character?
4)Can emenations/energy from the first world turn mortals into fey, animals in intellegent magical beast, regular plants into plant creatures, etc.?
5)Will we ever see templates for summoned creatures like celestial, fiendish but for the first world, positive energy plane, negative energy plane, plane of dreams, plane of time, outerspace, etc.
6)What are the best resturants that you have ever eaten at?
7)What are the odds of seeing a fey touched(human blooded like aasimar) race and that have options(like Asimar/Tieflings got) of different abilities/stat mods based on different fey?

Mr. Jacobs, out of curiosity, were the Thassilonians pure-bred Azlanti (as in, the sort of Azlanti that get a +2 to every stat that are hinted at in the Inner Sea World Guide)? If they are, does that mean that the Runelords are as well?
Also, in Aroden's return and the golden age promised for humanity therein, what role do the other races play, i.e., what happens to them? Would they be just shunted aside? Brutally purged? Or completely ignored?
And finally, I understand that Irrisen is mostly Kellid, as is Brevoy, yet their naming conventions are very slavic in feel. Does that mean that they still speak Hallit? If they do, does that mean Hallit sounds kind of...slavic? Or is it just a variation? Did Baba Yaga bring it to Irrisen, or was it something else entirely?
Ah, sorry for all the questions, I've been on a real Golarion information-digging kick recently.

The Shoanti gladiator remembered me a question I tried to ask you (Internet shallowed it leaving no trace of the post):
in A history of ashes, Ap 10, there is the Thunder and fang feat, that allow to fight with a earth maul and a klar while retaining the klar AC bonus. As written it will not work as the earth maul is a 2 handed weapon, but the feat is interesting as it has a specific Shoanti flavour.
You have ever thought about rewriting it for Pathfinder in a form that can function with minimal rules changes (so, workingas most feat do)?Something like allowing the use of a earth maul while wielding a klar and getting its AC bonus (but not attacking with it)?
The whole point of Thunder and Fang is to let you fight with that weapon and a klar as if the klar and the earth breaker were one single double weapon. You wield the earthbreaker normally, but when you attack, your klar blade sticks out perpendicular from the earthbrearker's shaft, forming a stubby "T" shape. You can swing the earthbreaker normally, and also stab with the blade of the klar that sticks out from the middle of the shaft as if it were a secondary weapon attached to the earthbreaker itself.
That you get to retain the klar's AC bonus when you attack is actually thus only half of how the feat lets you bend the rules.
No need to change the feat as a result, since it's working as intended.
Nice explanation. It has been reprinted somewhere? The description in the AP is a bit lacking and what you wrote finally has given me an image of how it work.
Before your explanation I had the impression that there was something wrong in the feat text as it gave the possibility to use a 2 handed weapon plus a secondary weapon without even acknowledging that it was a major step away from the normal rules.Re-reading it in the light of your explanation make it clearer.
Maybe simply adding a version the line that appear in several feats:
Normal: you can't use a 2 handed weapon and a secondary weapon in your other hand.
would make it clearer that the intent is to allow the use of a 2 handed weapon and a secondary weapon.
Just to get a more in deep clarification, both attacks should be made against the same target?

If a hero slays a linnorm and presents it's head to an active linnorm king, is said king obligated to step down and vacate the throne? Do they settle whose right it is to rule through a duel? Doesn't a linnorm king have to accept all challenges regardless of whether the challenger has slain a linnorm or not?
How does this work? **headache**

I've been reading the new Magnimar book and I am truly enjoying it. I want to commend both you and Adam on a really fine piece of reading. This book has me excited for a lot of different reasons, including the focus on the city in an upcoming campaign I wish to run.
There is one bit that is really tickling my fancy.
Tiluatchek and how it has taken over Kaleb Valdemar.
Who came up with that?

Bribes.
Lots and lots of Bribes.
Or a kitten. With little green eyes. Maybe.. fluffy white fur. And a ball of yarn. Or two.

What is the story behind your dislike for dwarves?
There's basically 3 things:
1) In real life, I am quickly annoyed by loud drunk people. Dwarves seem to often be played as loud drunks, so that annoys me as well.
2) In 1st edition AD&D, dwarves couldn't be wizards. Wizards were my favorite class, and so I didn't like dwarves. Gnomes could be illusionists, and that helped cement my love of gnomes.
3) Dwarves, of all the core races, are SO embedded with their stereotypes that, in my opinion, they are the least flexible in character builds. To me, a heavily armored elf looks as cool as a lightly armored one, and an elf with a dagger is as cool as an elf with a lance. Dwarves, for good or for ill, start looking funny once they don't look like a dude in heavy armor with an axe or hammer.

If you had the power to prevent any film in history from being made, would you use your power and for which film?
The late 90s American remake of Godzilla, directed by Roland Emerich. That movie not only sucked hard, but it actually derailed the Godzilla franchise and resulted in delays and cancellations of several Godzilla things I was hoping to buy.

What is the thing you are most proud of in your career?
That's a 10 way tie:
1) Having this career in the first place.
2) Getting an adventure published at the age of 14 or thereabouts.
3) Having Burnt Offerings turned into a play.
4) The Goblin Song.
5) Working on Dungeon #112.
6) Working on Dungeon as editor-in-chief.
7) Working at Paizo.
8) Golarion.
9) Winning the sliver AND the gold Ennie for best adventure one year.
10) The Demonomicon of Iggwilv series in Dragon magazine.

In building a higher level NPC, I usually pick feats that optimize the NPC for his role in the adventure, but often set aside one feat choice for a character-driven one.
For a PC I'm building, the feat selection is usually driven by the prestige class I want to take, since I do quite like prestige classes. In cases where I don't have a prestige class, though, I generally do the same as when I build an NPC; I optimize for the type of character but save 1 or 2 feats for "fun" choices.
Optimizing characters IS fun. And frankly, a character built at 10th level is almost ALWAYS going to be less powerful than one that arrives at 10th level organically, if only because if you get to 10th level organically, you've had those 10 levels to get used to your character's strengths and weaknesses. And so allowing a player to optimize feats and the like for a freshly built 10th level character is hardly any more overpowering for that player.

Yes... Thassilonians were Azlanti. All the Thassilonians in the revised Runelords book are Azlanti. And that goes for all the runelords as well.
The golden age promised by Aroden's prophecies/faiths would have enhanced humanity's role. If a race is an ally to humanity, they would have prospered. If they were an enemy, they would have suffered.
Hallit probably sounds like a combination of slavic and celtic/irish, if such a thing can work.

It hasn't been written anywhere that I know of... mostly because feats generally don't allow for that much flavorful text in the description because they usually show up where there's not room for such. Further... I guess in my mind, the way that fighting style would work just seemed obvious. Guess it wasn't as obvious as I felt it was.
As with all two-weapon fighting styles, be they with 2 weapons, a double weapon, or Thunder and Fang... you can split the attacks up however you want among any number of targets.

How does this work? **headache**
If someone wants a throne in a Linnorm Kingdom, you need two things—a linnorm head (or a pet linnorm, apparently) and an empty throne.
If the throne you want is NOT empty, then you confront the king sitting in the throne with your linnorm triumph and then the two of you fight to the death if the king you present the linnorm triumph to doesn't want to step down to let you rule.

What is the rationale behind alchemists being able to learn equivalent formulae out of a wizard's spellbook but wizards not being able to learn equivalent spells out of an alchemist's formula book?
There are more wizard spell books out there than alchemist spell books, and this helps alchemists fit in and be playable in established campaigns.

Can a character receive more than one animal companion by multi classing Druid/Ranger? I've been trying to find an official answer on this for a while now. Everyone has their own opinion of RAW or RAI, but eveything I read refers to animal companions (plural) and feats refer to more than one. Even pre-prestige/archtypes.

In my opinion, it's best to stack the levels for animal companions so that a character has just one animal companion. That's less complex to run, and results in a companion that's more likely to endure/survive what the character'll be facing.

In all honesty, when the decision was made to go ahead with Pathfinder as a game separate from D&D and the 4e transition, did you ever dream it would become what it is today, with terrific sales, expanding lines, great reviews, and legions of devoted fans (that's me over there -- Cohort III, Centuria II, second rank, fourth file from the left)?

No. In fact, the dreams I was having at that point were more nightmares than dreams. I didn't dare let myself dream Pathfinder would get to a point inside of 5 years where we'd be outselling D&D, licensing miniatures and comics and video games, and more. It's pretty exciting!

He'd be a human rogue. He'd be 20th level. He'd be Chaotic Good. He'd have PC gear. He'd have the highest legal point buy. And then I'd put the advanced template on him.
In the past 3 - 4 threads about it, we argued he could be a gestalt character.
