Just a heads-up guys, I'm experimenting with using actual graphic tiles to represent monster states instead of the X's and O's.
.
.
.
.
I intend to make a graphical legend of them for you, but here's the ones I've configured for now:
- Blinded: white eye with a line thru it on a purple background
- Charmed/dominated: white burst, orange bg
- Dead: red skull, black bg
- Disabled/sleeping: white Zs, orange bg
- Dying: white skull, red bg
- On Fire: red ring
- Flying: white wings, blue bg
- Grappled: white hands, grey bg
- Hasted: white runner, teal bg
- Immobilized/Pinned: white padlock, grey bg
- Indoors: 50% grey shading
- Incapacitated/staggered: white circle with a line thru it, red bg
- Poisoned: white droplets, red bg
- Prone: white arrow, blue bg
- Surprised: white exclamation point, yellow bg
- Swimming: blue ring

So I'm guessing that most everyone playing uses either FireFox or Chrome. Well, for some time now there has been an auto-linker (for PfRPG keywords) for FireFox. Well, now there's one for Chrome too!
Topic Auto-Linkers: [ Chrome | FireFox ]
The FireFox version requires you to also install GreaseMonkey (a scripting extension), but the one for Chrome is ridiculously easy to install. You pretty much just click on the link, OK the install and bam — it's self-contained.
Once setup, refresh this page, and you should see the following words (among others) underlined and linkified to their appropriate rules...
cleric
magic missile
run
perception
staggered

Darvesch |

I just wanted to pop in real quick to say I have a bday party to get to in a couple minutes, then it's my normal game time. So, I might not get a chance to post anything until tonight. In any case, I have been keeping up, and kinda thought to myself "would Darvesch abandon pursuit of the witch, or would he think that's the best way to help at the time?" so, instead of answering that myself, what say a die roll? 1d6 1-3 I help Alis and Co., 4-6 I continue persuit of the witch..? If he pursues the witch, he'll make sure to cast sanctuary on Alis beforehand.

Those seem like solid suggestions to me. Priyya certainly needs more in the way of defense, and Sasha did her fair share helping out.
As for the pearl of power, I'm OK with it be used to store a lower level spell for now. After all, just because an electro-magnet might be rated to pick up an object weighing 2500 lbs doesn't mean it couldn't also pick up one weighing 900. It would be when you try and exceed its capacity that we'd have a problem.

Laithoron |

Right, I'm making an exception to that rule so that it follows the same principles as the rest of the spellcasting houserules I use. i.e. You can always use a higher level slot to cast a lower level spell as if it's a higher level spell. (Essentially heighten spell being a freebie.)

OK, the tracking list is up-to-date again. I have to say, this has been the longest day EVER in terms of game-time. It began all the way back in Captain Beliker's hut at post 3967 and it's still not over yet. I wonder how many PbPs end up having...

Well I think all the coin is still in the lighthouse actually, but...
.
.
.
.
Being independently wealthy, Alis never takes a share of any coin. That leaves everyone else:
- Darvesch
- Lureene
- Malandraenas
- Priyya
- Any Contributing NPCs
In this case then, it would get divided 5-ways: Darv, El, Mal, Priyya, and Sasha. If you can think a believable, in-character reason why any of those 5 people are not due to receive a share (i.e. being an NPC is a gamist reason, not an in-character one) then feel free to make a case for it.
Either way, stuff like this is basically small change:
Once you guys finally reach civilization, you would each get your ongoing pay or donations to your organizations. Alis pays both Lureene and Mal, whereas she makes contributions to Priyya's order, and would do the same for Darvesch's. In terms of game mechanics, there is functionally no difference between the two. In terms of roleplaying, however, the difference is fairly significant. Priyya and Alis actually had an in-character discussion about it once.
I'd suggest reading this post and the 4 or 5 immediately following just to ensure you have an understanding on how this works.
BTW: Does the achievement bonus I listed for 5000 points interest everyone, or would you each rather just have your pick of any feat at all? It occurred to me that it might be offensive to essentially give away one of Darvesch's class features so if anyone would prefer just a general bonus slot then we can do that instead. Otherwise, if you want to pick a teamwork feat, I'm OK with still allowing it to work with someone else in the party.
Lastly: I'm about to head out of town for tonight and tomorrow and won't be back until Sunday night. Not sure if I'll have a chance to post any replies before I leave or while I'm gone.

Darvesch |

I welcome teamwork feats whole-heartedly, but the idea of giving everyone Solo Tactics on top just doesn't feel right. I'd be okay if, perhaps, we could agree on a single teamwork feat that we all could benefit from, and gain that feat. That way, we still get the teamwork feat, Solo Tactics isn't given away, and we all benefit.
If that's not something we can all agree on, then it'll fall to a single bonus feat.

Laithoron |

Given how different everyone's combat styles are, I don't see a single teamwork feat working out for everyone... Also, the more I think about it, the less I like giving away a class feature like that.
Let's just go with everyone getting your pick of any one feat then. That gives everyone a bit more flexibility, and we don't step on Darvesch's toes.
Thanks for the feedback everyone, as always I appreciate it. :)

Hey guys, I've updated the list of allowed source books to include some recent releases such as Ultimate Magic.
Note that there are more than a few things in UM that are wonky and in need of errata. So if something seems off or too good to be true, then it probably is. I already had to make a house rule to adjust one feat, and there are at least three spells I've discovered so far that had their components listed incorrectly.

Priyya Surya-ka-Vahaak |

Gents, work continues to be 'highly intrusive' so I probably won't have much time to post this week. Feel free to NPC Priyya if I'm slowing things down.
Laith, I'm taking "Channel Smite" as my 5K feat... some demon, devil, or undead will have a very bad day (assuming it blows the save) when I manage to connect with that.

Hey guys, there's a really good thread going on right now (IMO best... thread... EVER) covering commonly misunderstood rules in Pathfinder:
http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/paizoPublishing/pathfinder/pathfinderR PG/general/whatAreSomeThingsAboutThePathfinderRulesThatYouThinkMostPeopleDo NotKnow
I would HIGHLY encourage all of you to read thru it. There are a few posts such as this where posters have summarized everything in the thread up to that point. If nothing else, at least read whatever the most recent summary is.
A few things that I didn't know or thought beared repeating were:
- There is a -4 penalty for soft cover if you have an ally or enemy in the way of the target you are making a ranged or reach attack against.
- Many Shot and Rapid Shot work together
- You can draw a weapon during a charge (if BAB is +1 or greater), but doing so limits the distance to a single move (not double).
- If you are limited to only a single standard action in a round (i.e. surprised) you may still charge, but your distance is limited to a single move. You cannot draw a weapon in this instance unless you can quickdraw it.
- Enlarge person has a 1-round casting time, lesser restoration 3-rounds.
- Fighters can retrain bonus feats
- Incorporeal damage take 50% damage rather than gaining a 50% miss chance.
- Combat Reflexes and Uncanny Dodge both allow AoOs while flat-footed. (UD means you actually are NOT FF.)
- Initiative is supposed to be rolled for ALL combatants before the start of combat, not with surprised characters rolling after the surprise round.
- Characters are flat-footed until they act (Uncanny Dodge being the exception)
- Animal companions can be dismissed at will and can be replaced after 24-hours. Tricks would still need to be retrained of course.
- Elementals are immune to flanking and criticals
- Take 10 can be used even if there are negative consequences for failure so long as there are no immediate threats/distractions and the skill doesn't forbid it.
- Take 20 cannot be used if there are negative consequences for failure.
- A wand for a spell that takes longer than a standard action to cast takes the same time as the original spell.
- Wizards with prestige classes only get the 2 free spells when leveling in Wizard, not the prestige class.
- Ranged touch attacks provoke AoOs (for making a ranged attack in melee) even if you cast the spell defensively.
There's TONS of others in there though so PLEASE read thru it. :)

Lureene Ourson |

Ok clearly we need to work on our group tactics here. Still, I would say Darvesch is EXTREMELY lucky to be alive.
Just to be clear, we are retreating out of this complex correct? I just want to be sure since to quote a famous movie, "I don't know if you've been keeping up with current events here, but we just got our assses kicked!"

Priyya Surya-ka-Vahaak |

I'm not sure things were that dire - but the potential for disaster was there. Darvesch was in pretty good shape HP-wise and thankfully the snake didn't pull out a new attack - a grapple or something like that. But with Mal and Priyya being closest to the exit, out of immediate snake range, and acting after D and then the Snake... if anything had gone wrong with D's retreat or the Snake's attack on its turn, Mal or Priyya would be in position to assist. Similarly, with Mal retreating last as he was closest to the exit, if something went wrong, everyone in the tunnel would see it and be able to get back there in short order.
I'm not sure we need to run all the way back to the surface. Initially, I was thinking we meet up in the cavern before the 'Shrine'. Hopefully that narrow passage way will stop any further Snake incursions. Handling the ghouls shouldn't be much of a problem, provided we don't run into 2 dozen of them.

Priyya Surya-ka-Vahaak |

LOL! I'm not talking about pressing on necessarily... just healing up and assessing where we are at. Frankly, if that Snake decides to vanish, I'd like to take a quick peek in the shrine with Priyya's Daylight spell going to see what exactly is at the north end. It might be worth a snake strike to do it. But again, that's a consideration for after we regroup.

Priyya Surya-ka-Vahaak |

Not long after Mal heads up the slope with Darvesch, Priyya can feel a slight tugging at her will...
...the Surya-ka-Vakaak calls out, "We've got incoming, speed it up!"
She decides to give the enemy cleric something to think about and tags her cheek with a cypress shaft knocking free a couple teeth with the hit. Drawing another shaft, she moves back into the tunnel following Mal and Darvesch even as Talvyra covers her.
QUESTION: Why am I being bot'ed when I'm available to play to my own character?

Just a heads-up guys: All this week, I've got all-day training on a new product I'll be supporting. As such, I'll be having to go into the office each day. This means 2 things:
1)- I doubt I'll be able to post while at work this week.
2)- I'll be needing to get to bed by about 12-1am ET.

Hey guys, if any of you have feats that are granted by class abilities, items, races, etc. please list these feats IN the feat section with a parenthetical note as to where they came from.
.
.
.
.
Examples:
Alignment Channel (5K bonus)
Dodge (boots)
Point-Blank Shot (fighter 1)
Power Attack (level 1)
Precise Shot (fighter 3)
Skill Focus (half elf)
etc.
If you want to list these feats under your class, race, and inventory sections also then that's fine, but it makes adjudicating combat a lot easier for me when I can see all that in one comprehensive, alphabetical listing.
Thanks!
