Hi all,

Short question: how far can a Lvl 20 Monk move with these feats within 1 round?

Quote:
Slow Fall (Ex): At 4th level or higher, a monk within arm's reach of a wall can use it to slow his descent. When first gaining this ability, he takes damage as if the fall were 20 feet shorter than it actually is. The monk's ability to slow his fall (that is, to reduce the effective distance of the fall when next to a wall) improves with his monk level until at 20th level he can use a nearby wall to slow his descent and fall any distance without harm.

I had the same issue. Apparently monks only need abundant step to get inside barriers as they are practically omnipresent at level 20.

I'd wager, though, this isn't really an issue. Monks are already super mobile. Even if they somehow can't take this ridiculous circuitous route to avoid AoO, they can attempt to acrobatically do it. And at mid-levels, they can just teleport, anyways.

At level 20, wizards can time stop, throw up a portal to another plane, and be completely gone.

Although I fully expect this to be errata-corrected.

I came across the same situation and I was wondering if these feats were meant to allow the 20th level Monk to move on air as he pleases (which it seems to be doing as is - I guess this is like having a permanent 'air walk' on yourself, at the cost of 2 feats!). This would make a good 'reply' for a "Sage Advice" like section/FAQ!!

As far as he want...he could travel the galaxies if he so desires as a move action.

Yar!

This was already discussed in THIS THREAD.

Both Jason Nelson (who wrote those feats) and Sean K. Reynolds talk about it there too. Basically, it was intended to follow the regular progression of Slow Fall up to that point (of +10' every 2 levels) and the boost to infinite was an oversight.

But I don't think it's unreasonable for them to do these things up to their land speed each round. Or maybe even double their full speed.
