Questions about Gauntlets and Throw Weapons

Rules Questions

1. Can I wield another weapon, say, a sword, when equipped with the following "weapons"?
a) Cestus
b) Brass Knuckles
c) Tekko-Kagi
d) Spiked Gauntlet

2. Will feats that work with ranged weapons work with throw weapons too?
(e.g. Deadly Aim, Rapid Shot)
What about the weapons that are not meant to throw?
(weapons without throwing range)

3. Will feats that work with throw weapons work with these weapons?
(say Distance Thrower)

4. The QDraw feat states that "...may throw weapons at his full normal rate of attacks (much like a character with a bow)..."
What is meant by normal rate of attacks?

Oh and one more question,

5. After a successful throw attack with a non-thrown weapon (say Longsword), where will it go?
Is it considered lost like ammunition or dropped on the enemy's grid?

4. Your normal rate of attack is the iterative attacks based off your BAB. So with quick draw you can make as many quick draw throws as you could have made melee attacks (with your main hand weapon - I am too sleepy to check if TWF can be used for non-melee).

1) a) Yes, b) hold, but not wield, c) Yes, d) yes.

2) Yes.

3) Some.

4) Iterative attacks, such as those gained through a BAB of +6 or higher, and/or use of two-weapon fighting.

5) If it is not ammunition, then it is not treated as ammunition.

My guess, is you want to throw improvised weapons, which what you treat weapon without a range, when you throw them?

I suggest looking into improvised weapon rules.

Liberty's Edge

You need TWF for using dual pistols or dual hand crossbows so I would asume the same would apply for thrown weapons.

1: yes but you can't make extra attacks with them unless you BAB allows it.

2: feats for ranged weapons work with thrown weapons with the exception of rapid shot, you need quick draw to throw more than your BAB's worth of throwing weapons. No you can't use feats for ranged weapons on things that are not ranged weapons via throwing them.

3:Things like improved hurling and throw anything would work with non thrown weapons.

4: at +6 BAB you get another attack at +1 with quick draw you can throw as many weapons as you have those extra attacks.

5: The enemy's square.

That's the best to my knowledge of the rules that I can do.

Successful attack? Their square.

Unsuccessful attack? Still their square, though it could be reasonable to apply the rules for missing with a splash weapon, rolling for distance and direction away from the target.

1. a) Yes, but "precision-based tasks" are at -2.
1. b) No ("You may hold, but not wield, a weapon or other object in a hand wearing brass knuckles.").
1. c) Not explicitly stated, but "this device consists of a fanlike structure of three or more 10-inch blades secured to a sturdy handle" (emphasis mine) seems to prevent it.
1. d) Yes, with no penalties or restrictions.

2. a) Thrown weapons are a specific category of ranged weapons, so any feats that apply to ranged weapons will apply to thrown weapons (when they are thrown; they don't apply if the weapon is used to make melee attacks). Deadly Aim and Rapid Shot are two feats that apply to thrown weapons.
2. b) You will need a specific feat (Throw Anything) or ability (throwing) to throw a weapon without a throwing range; however, they will benefit from ranged weapon feats once they can be thrown.

3. Distance Thrower affects all thrown weapons. However, see 2. b); you need to be able to throw the weapon first.

4. Your total number of attacks from BAB, plus any extras from feats (such as Rapid Shot and Two-Weapon Fighting) and magic (haste, etc.). Because it is normally a move action to draw a weapon (as opposed to a free action to draw ammunition, such as an arrow), thrown weapons are normally limited to the weapons held in hand at the start of the round; with Quick Draw, drawing a weapon is a free action.

5. If it hits, it's stuck in the target (or lands in the square). If it misses, I recommend using the rules for throwing splash weapons to determine where it lands.
