Feat and skill question

Rules Questions

The feat i am wondering about is Cleave/Great Cleave. If i have 2 attacks can i make both attacks using Power Attack, and if one or both hits then use Cleave/Great Cleave? Or is it when you use Cleave/Great Cleave you can only use one attack? Also can you use anything like Power Attack or something along its likes that add to hit or damage while trying your Cleave/Great Cleave?

As for skills. You might think I'm stupid or laugh at me for but i read the Core Rules book front to cover and the skills section more than once and i couldn't find anything that said different. Each class skill cost you 1 skill point and you get a +3 to that skill. What i would like to know is how many skill points non class skills cost? Is it .5 per rank or 1 just with out the +3.
Lastly at level 10 does the +3 from class skill go to +6?

1) Cleave lets you use two attacks. Yes, Power Attack would apply to both if you want to take the penalty. Note that Cleave is different in PF then in 3.5...it's not an automatic extra attack...you have to choose it ahead of time.

2) Skills ALWAYS cost 1 pt in Pathfinder. If it is a CLASS skill, you get a permanent +3 bonus to the skill (this is to replace the starting 4:1 skill points you got from 3.5). This bonus is not a feat, and it does not double at later levels. It applies only when you put a point into a skill that is on your class skill list for the level taken.

Thank you this info will help greatly. My group had been doing the feats wrong. I did have the skills right tho. So i will have to let them know about that. Thanks again :)

Cleave can only be used as a Standard Action. During a Standard Action you can only make one attack. If that attack damages your foe, Cleave lets you make a "bonus" attack at an adjacent foe, if there is one. If this attack damages the second foe, and if you have Great Cleave, then you may make another "bonus" attack against another adjacent enemy if there is one. Etc.

But you only get one attack to start this chain of events.

So, if you're high enough level that you have two attacks, the only way you can use those two attacks is with a Full-Attack which requires a Full-Round Action. This is different than a Standard Action and it is not eligible with Cleave.

Power Attack does not require any action; it merely requires you to make an attack. This means that you can use it with any melee attacks, including the extra attacks you get from Cleave.

All your other feats and abilities work with Cleave and Great Cleave unless they say they don't. So, Weapon Focus, Weapon Specialization, etc., all work with it. But, for example, Whirlwind Attack requires a Full-Attack action which means you cannot use it on a Standard Action when you use Cleave.

Aelyrinth is dead on in his answer to your skill questions.

If i got this right. If i declare i am making a Cleave attack at the start of my turn i can as a Full-Round action use my 2 attacks if i have them. It one hits i can make a "bonus" attack on an adjacent foe if there is one. If i only have a Standard Action i can only make a single attack when i declare Cleave before hand.

If what i have just written is right then my group has been doing it wrong.

still got it wrong.

cleave takes a standard action of its own. you declare you are going to use cleave. you take -2 to your ac. if the attack hits you make an attack at an adjacent opponent at same to-hit.

you can't cleave as part of a full round attack

Alright thanks. We have been doing it right then. I just wanted to make sure. I was hoping i could get both my attacks and still Cleave but i guess not.
