Congratulations to all who made it! For anyone not yet finished, feel free to post your characters with complete equipment/stats in your profile or some useful link which gives me easy access to it. I will go through them with a fine-tooth comb and let you know of any errors/modifications. I chose all of you for your intricate history/stories, so I hope we keep up the role and roll playing. And main thing, let's have fun....I'll do my part to keep it entertaining and fresh.

Any questions, let me know.

Male (he/him) Irish Physicist (Programmer Dedication) 5

Woohoo! Bwana is taking it to Brevoy.

What do we know beforehand, or do we all meet our employer IC?

Male Elf Magus (Bladebound/Hexcrafter) 1

Skerrin is looking forward to it :-)

Male Human, Andoran Ranger 10

Bors is glad to finally leave the dust of the road behind, at least for a day or two, and settle into the nearest tavern. Certainly a nearby hostel can provide something fresher than the stale rations remaining in his pack.

WooHoo +1. Glad I made it. There was some stiff competition.

You know, I was debating that, whether to make you companions already or for you to meet for the first time in game at the initial meeting. I think I'm going to go for the latter, it leaves room for some great rping when you first meet.

The game will start in the city of Restov where you are being wined and dined (you are after all 8th level and people of some renown). More info than that will come in-game.

Bwana: Errors/Changes I noticed:

Your initiative should be +8 (+4 dex +4 feat)
Could you break down your skills by ranks please?
The summoner's abilities, like maker's call, shield ally, etc, could you spoiler that in the profile itself so I can access it quickly without going to the PRD?
In the combat section, could you list the bonuses with Point Blank shot and then with deadly aim on another line and then with both PB and Deadly aim on another line? It makes it easier for me to see the bonuses directly without having to do more math or look up a feat.
Could you price the magic items with a gp cost next to them?
AC is 19 (+5 armor +4 Dex)
Reflex Save is +8
Longbow attack is +12/+7
CMD is 22
Explain the Eidolon's +12 Natural armor bonus(I see +2 to start +6 for level and +2 amulet). What am I missing?
Evolutions for eidolon: SR is 4, Immunity is 2, Energy is 2, both Slams are 2, and extra Arms are 2. That adds up to 12 pts and your pool is only 11 pts. Also, how did you get push?

Skerrin:

I'm trying to work out your starting stats to fit within 20 pt system to justify your current stats after racial bonuses, attribute increases, and magic items and I get the following:
Str 7 (-4), Dex 14 (5pts), Con 14 (5 pts), Int 17 (13 pts), Wis 12 (2 pts) = 21 Total pts. Am I missing something? If not, adjust one of the stats.

Dusty Rose ioun stone gives +1 insight bonus to AC not Initiative. Is the cracked dusty rose ioun stone different? Source?

Bors Omanera wrote:

Bors, can I entice you to not select an animal companion? With Aroden's griffon, Bwana's ape, Skerrin's imp and summon monster spells, the field is already going to be loaded with non-pc combatants. How about I let you take the sword oath for free without it costing you a feat? Hmmmmmm.....Think about it.

Also your choice of monstrous humannoid might not be optimum. The Bestiary, per the PRD, lists the following as monstrous humanoids: banderlog[TOH1], baric[TOH1], bog beast[TOH1], centaur, crabman[TOH1], dakon[TOH1], doppelganger, gargoyle, green hag, harpy, lamia, margoyle[TOH1], medusa, minotaur, morlock, sahuagin, sea hag, skum, and yeti. Maybe you might want to take something else. Up to you.

Hey, very ecited to make the cut. Im doing some work this evening, but will be reposting my character soon.

I have a (shamefull) question. I figured out how to make an Alias, but I cant for the life of me figure out how to load a character into the profile. Im new to these boards, as I spend all my time on the ReaperMini PbP boards.

Any help Please? Just a link to a FAQ would be great.

Ok, *IF* I am allowed to take the Griffon. I am thinking of it being purley non-combat, or just a mount. One of the reasons that I want to have the griffon as a figurine, is if we end up underground, then I could put him in my pocket.

If it makes it easier for you, you can say the griffon as a statue is only minorly combat trained or something. I dont want to add more PC firepower, to have to make you add an additional layer of monsters.

Im a big ROLE player, and not heavy on the ROLL playing. As long as I can tell a good story you can have me ride a one eyed lame beggar.

Good to know, I was worried about that.

When you click on the alias of Lord Aroden, there should be an option to create a profile. Click on that and you should be able to copy and paste your character's information in the square labeled "About Lord Aroden." Then you save the changes. Hope that helps.

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Augusto Checking in. any errors, let me know

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Creating a post, so I can then click on it and create a profile.

So the Characters we have are:

Bors Omanera, Ranger
Aguston Mancha, Inquisitor
Skerrin Maltisse, Wizard / Loremaster
BBwana Unjunti, Summoner
Lord Aroden, Cleric

Im going to have my hands full keeping all of you healed, im sure. Just out of curiosity, Lucendar, How do you feel about the Prestige Paladin PRC from the Unearthed Arcana? A three level dip would cause me to loose a spell level, but gain heavy armor proficency, martial weapon proficienies, and a few more items. Not needed. Just curious.

Huh. Apologies. I will adjust stats accordingly.

As to the 'cracked' ioun stone, it is from 'Pathfinder Companion: Seeker of Secrets' - basically, cracked and flawed ioun stones have some 'lesser' ability than the normal ones - in this case, +1 Init rather than +1 AC.

OK, so I set Unaleska free, off to the wilds with her. But no hunting the white wolf now folks. Replaced her with the Hunter's Bond ability.

Switched out Monstrous Humanoids for Giant Humanoids. Would that make a better choice? I originally chose Monstrous, as I was unsure how the beast creatures of the Worldwound would be typed. Let me know if you'd prefer something else.

Listed the Sowrd Oath as free, and added Blind-Fight. It seemded to make sense, having some experience fighting Evil Outsiders I might be used to their tricks, and ready to return blow for blow.

I'll read it and let you know. By the way, the monster cohort rules say the cohort's max level is level minus 2, so in this case 6. The griffon is level 8 so no cohort till you are 10th level. A Pegasus is level 6.

Thanks for switching it out. Giant is a much better choice!

I took a healing spell for each lvl of spells I have, So i can provide extra Healing when needed. Inquisitors are Spontanous divine casters, So i don;t have to use the heal, its just on my list.

I have 5 1st lvl, 5 2nd lvl, and 3 3rd lvl spells per day. I also have lesser restoration on my list as a 2nd lvl spell.

Lucendar wrote:

I get Leadership Feet as a bounus at level 8 for Nobility domain, with +2 to your leadership score. p46

Leadership feat gives you a leadership level of your level plus your charisma modifier (8+2),(plus the bonus from the Nobility domain +2) p129

Plus I have the trait Natural born Leader, +1 to leadership score.

This gives me a total Leadership score of 13, which is a level 9 cohort, 10 1st level followers and 1 2nd level followers.

So thats where I got the number from.

Now................

That being said, Here is what I offer.

I have a "Figurine of Wondros power" Pegasus (instead of griffon), which instead of being used 2 days a week 6 hours a day, could be used at will.

But.. it is not trained for commbat, and cannot attack. Its used PURELY for a riding mount. (use the stats for the Ebony Fly figurine, wich is just like this, and cannot attack)

OR... You know what, we just scrap the whole thing all together if it makes things easier. Are we going to be doing a lot of underground travel? If so, then it dosent really make sense as I cant ride anything inside a dungeon. Im NOT doing a "uber-lance charging build". Outside, Ill just ride a horse.

Dharman wrote:

I think you missed this part, so the highest level is 6:

Cohort Level: You can attract a cohort of up to this level. Regardless of your Leadership score, you can only recruit a cohort who is two or more levels lower than yourself.

I am totally cool with it being a pegasus or a griffon as a figurine of wondrous power (not a cohort if it's a griffon). This AP has underground parts as well as many wilderness encounters. Personally, I think it would look cool to soar into the skies riding it but it's up to you.

Bors, please list gp value for magic and alchemical items in profile
Explain acrobatics at +10: I see 3 ranks (+6) + 2 Dex = +8 (what am I missing?)
Diplomacy should be +5 (4 ranks + 1 Charisma)

Augusto, your initiative should be +6 (+3 dex +3 wis).
Also please spoiler the Inquisitor abilities in your profile so I don't have to run to the PRD to look them up during game.
Could you break down the skills with ranks for each?
The costs of armor and weapon are wrong, so you may need to adjust your purchases:
The breastplate is 4200 (200 base + 4000 mithral)
The magic DBS is 4630 (315 MW + 315 MW + 2000 magic + 2000 magic)
For favored class, please indicate if you took skill points or hit points each level or a combination thereof.
Thanks.

All done, changed my armor. The eidolon's AC was 2 too high. But both slams and the push evolution (now listed, it wasn't before) are 1 point each, putting my evolutions at 11.

I think that's everything?

Errr.. yes. yes I missed that part. My bad! :)

Lets make it a Pegasus. Pegasus are basically non combat (they have one attack at a BAB of +4) Taldor will have an elite squad of Pegasus knights. It will be a cohort, but will be a Figurine, as it will be a sacred mount summoned using the holy statue.

A statue based mount allows several things, it allows you to get rid of the mount when the story needs it. It also means that if it gets inadvertantly eaten by a Grue, then I can just sommon it again next day.

(And no.. that does NOT mean that its suddenly an option for emergency rations for the rest of the party).

10,000 gp for the total cost?

that gives me 10,000 for the figurine, 18000 for a +3 equivalent weapon, and 5K left to spend.

And on further reflection, dont worry about the Paladin prestige class, im good with what I have.

Ok, so i updated my profile, but how do I get the button tabs for things like skills, feats, etc. there are spots to put in dex, str, etc. but only one big spot for character information.

help!

If you click on the "Tab: BBCode tags that you can use", it will show you how to spoiler things.

For example:
[spoiler=Feats]
Dodge
Endurance
Etc...[/spoiled]
(normally you would close it with the word spoiler so it comes out as a tab).

Hope that helps!

The duration cannot be at will. I would give you the same duration as the fly for 10,000 gp: The item can be used three times per week for up to 12 hours per use.

Sorry to be a PitA for detail but still:

Missing gp value for: MW club and +1 Composite longbow (+2 Str)
Belt of Dexterity costs 4000 not 6000
Hat of Disguise costs 1800 not 900

For the Eidolon's Evolutions, you have: energy attacks (fire), immunity (fire), extra limbs (arms), push, slam (2), and spell resistance. That adds up to 2+2+2+1+2+4=13 (still 2 pts over).

For any characters with magic or abilites that require saves, such as channel energy and spells, please list the DC and type of save in your profile. Thanks!

P.S. It seems the character process is winding down, so do you guys want to narrow a date for the Game Thread to begin or is any day fine with you?

Augusto Mancha wrote:

Augusto, from my calculations, you still have about 5200 gp left to spend? Going to buy anything else?

Also Augusto, per the Paizo Blog, they've made the following changes to the Judgements:

Inquisitor: Rooting out enemies of the faith, wherever they might hide, the inquisitor uses the powers of her faith to ruthlessly destroy her foes. One of her signature abilities is to declare judgment on one of her foes, granting her bonuses when fighting that enemy. The playtest version of this ability improved as the combat progressed. While this was a fun mechanic, it was ultimately rather unwieldy in play and was replaced with a simpler system. Now, whenever the inquisitor uses her judgment ability, she selects the type and gains a bonus based on her level. For example, take a look at this judgment of purity.

Purity: The inquisitor is protected from the vile taint of her foes, gaining a +1 sacred bonus on all saving throws. This bonus increases by +1 for every five inquisitor levels she possesses.

So, all bonuses with be +2 in your case.

Skills broken down by ranks.

Gear with GP value done
Commonly memorized Spells done
Cleric is favored class with +1 HP per level.

Real quick about the Pegasus. (I know.. back to the damned horse). It looks like my options are as follows:

Keep Noblity Domain, Take Pegasus as a cohort, spend 0 gold, and have availabilty to the Pegasus 24 hours a day. Drawbacks: Taking a Pegasus into a dungeon is tricky, and once the Pegasus gets eaten, thats it.

Or

Scrap the Nobility Domain, Forget Cohorts, Take Pegasus as an item. Spend 10,000 gp and use him three times a week for 12 hours a week.

The reason that Im thinking about this, is if I use the Pegasus as a mount. (Say were all riding through the jungle) and the timelimit on the figurine runs out, what happens? I walk? Do I bring along an extra horse for the other 5 days a week?

So how can I use the Pegasus every day like he was my mount of choice? It dosent have to be 24 hours a day, just long enough for us to travel from point A to point B. It seems the only way to do that is to take him as a cohort.

There is a feat in Classic Treasures Revisited called Companion Figurine.

Companion Figurine Feat:

Companion Figurine
You’ve developed an especially close bond with the creature
summoned by your figurine of wondrous power.
Prerequisite: Animal Handling 1 rank, own a figurine of
wondrous power.
Benefit: You may select the creature summoned by your
figurine of wondrous power as an animal companion or familiar,
or as appropriate. The figurine has the standard abilities of
a familiar or animal companion of its type, plus additional
abilities related to its figurine type (see below). The main
advantage of this is that if your familiar or companion is
killed in creature form, it merely reverts to statue form and
can be used again later.

While the figurine is active, you and the active figurine
gain all the normal benefits of having a companion creature;
for example, a wizard with a silver raven familiar gains a +3
bonus on Appraise checks, the raven can speak one language,
and so on. While the figure is inactive, you gain none of these
benefits but are not otherwise hampered by its inert state (asif the creature were out of range but not dead). The usable
duration of the companion figurine doubles; for example, an
ebony f ly is normally usable up to three times per week for up
to 12 hours per use, but as a companion creature you may use
it up to six times per week for up to 12 hours per use. The
figurine is still a magic item and is subject to effects like
antimagic field and dispel magic that affect magic items; it uses
its caster level or your own, whichever is greater.

So this opens another option. I could take the feat, and have access to the Pegasus 6 days a week 12 hours a day. Which I think would be close enough for me. My question is, do I need to take the Leadership feat (for a Cohort) AND this feat as well? If so I will probably do that, switching out my L8 feat.

*whew*

I think thats enough about horses.

Lord Aroden wrote:

Since your class does not have an animal companion or familiar, then you would need to take both Leadership and Companion Figurine. Don't forget to put a rank in Handle Animal.

Its Smite Evil for Dummies (TM).

I will make the changes to my character.

Here is a thought. Do we not have a Theif in the party? Who is going to handle the locks and the traps? Does one of the other party members have those skills?

Lord Aroden, your character background disappeared? Also you have to amend the gear. First, the sword costs 18,335 gp. Second, you can't afford the +1 breastplate listed on your sheet either with those purchases and you need some basic equipment.

Please clarify that it's +10 for purposes of Jump checks only, otherwise +5.

These boots increase the wearer's base land speed by 10 feet. In addition to this striding ability (considered an enhancement bonus), these boots allow the wearer to make great leaps. She can jump with a +5 competence bonus on Acrobatics checks.

Sorry it was from an earlier build. Ill get rid of the +1 breastplate.

I dont know if I have much other gear. My character is not a stuff person. I assume rations will be provided for the adventure.

I was looking through the Pathfinder feats, and suddenly realized that Power Attack is much different here, its a flat -1 to hit, and +2 to damange. Not really sure its worth taking it. Would it be too cheezeball if I got some mounted combat feats? (now that ive used a feat, a corort and 10,000gp just to get a horse)

Also do you want us to post our background here, or in the "in character" thread. I need to know if I arrived with a contingency from Taldor or by myself.

Also as a final tweak, I may switch out the Born Leader trait (since I cant use the +1 leadership for the griffion) for the Armor Expert trait to reduce my armor check penalty.
