The lower left one is Takase River. My friend Masa (who sent me this link) just moved to a new house here with his wife. The two little orange dots right next to each other below and to the right of it are the middle school (the box with the line through middle vertically) and the elementary school (the one that looks kinda like a closed umbrella). I lived *right* next to the junior high school, which is where I worked. The red circle is probably the town office...it was on my side of the river just down the road from the elementary school.
The camera the farthest right is Fureai Park - this is the onsen, or public bath, in town. This is also where I found my kitty Hikari, abandoned by her previous owners and surviving off lizards and bugs she could catch herself and food she could beg off the patrons of the onsen.
Well, I was deleting old emails and found the one with this link from a friend in Mino-cho.
Exploding FHDM out of jealousy is just a bonus! :)
vindictively stands next to Jess Door's new shoes before exploding into messy bite-size FHDM pieces

Morning, all. What did I miss?
Well, Bill and Janet enjoyed their visit with the new grandson, not knowing that their younger child was quickly moving to have both of them certified insane so she could lock them up and claim the house for her own. Meanwhile, Scott and Sarah experienced another sleepless night, when the continuing electrical problems of the house caused all their appliances to turn on at 30 minutes intervals. And, across town, Charlie was stunned to learn that, yes, he was in fact purchased from gypsies....No, wait! That's my soap opera!

Ok FAWTL crew -- I've got a thread going for the PBP I'm looking to do. I'm opening it to people here first (as I said earlier). I think there's enough interest to go forward with it. Questions, comments, and suggestions are welcome at this point.

Jess Door: Have you started watching Nyan-koi at all? I'm not sure if I asked you before.
I just don't have the time to pursue anime like I did. I haven't seen anything new in a while. :) I keep spending my money on Paizo instead. Though...I do need catch up on my manga purchases...
The video of Mino isn't that exciting. It's small town Japan, after all. :) But I thought it was cool they posted that online.
wow, okay, Google Maps has my old apartment building labelled.
Minotsu JHS is where I taught. If you follow the road that is northwest of the school southwest, you hit the cross street after the school's front street, and turn right (NW). The labelled building on the southwest side of the street (the bigger one at the head of the two rows of buildings along the alley) is Grinpia Mino...my apartment building.
Grinpia Mino (I was the middle apt on the bottom floor, but the parking is below the building. The building is on stilts. Sucked when there were earthquakes...and I was glad I didn't have a car parked under there when earthquakes happened!)

Agh! I hate it when I'm trying to do something and suddenly can't remember how. :/
Also, my spelling is terrible today. Apparenlty I'm feeling a little lysdexic. Everyhtikng takes twice as long because I have to keep stopping to retype all the backwards mixed up letters. You don't want to know how many ways there are to misspell specualrite...I mean specularite.

It's a mineral....and I've managed to personally use about 50 of those misspellings this afternoon. I think Wikipedia is laughing at me.
