STEW!
Actually, we're having stew for dinner.
Well, we're actually having red curried beef, but we're kind of cooking it like a stew. It's so hard to get stew beef to come out tender.
I've used this for roasts in the crock pot, not stew, but a shot of whiskey with beef makes it come out super tender, and the alcohol burns off. Fall apart on the plate tender.

What's Motrin? Naproxen?
What's going on?
I hope you feel better soon.

"podt" was supposed to be "post".
Maybe I misread/misunderstood but after reading BT's post, I went to the OTD page, saw that you (?) had the last post, returned to the thread to read it but it wasn't there. So, I made a post saying "ghost podt" (it was supposed to be "post" annd not "podt") to see what I missed. But, no missing SP post appeared.

I found out my wife and daughter are at "Thinking Day" with Girl Scouts, so I took a dinner break.
I'm in a similar situation. I was supposed to pick up the girls from Scouts, but my wife is there with them and hasn't told me when she's coming home.
That whole stew thing may be postponed until tomorrow night.

I've used Jack Daniels in my pot roasts for years. So yummy!

Heh. What's sad is I bet you can find people on these boards who truly think that.
Not in this thread...as far as I know...
It's just so obviously the wish-fulfillment mechanism. We SO wish women didn't think. I mean, some guys, some guys do.
Bastards.

Oh, I was trying to get another post to disappear. Thanks for the help, btw. :)

Justin: I'm sure it wasn't the *same* email. ;-)
But just because I have an infinite thirst for knowledge, what's a beer trap?

I apologize in advance for the shameless self-promotion but I thought some people might be interested to know I just got the third preview for the Wealdland Gazetteer. I just started a thread on Paizo.

OK, downed some Aleve and Tylenol on top of Motrin. Washed down with caffeine FTW. Let's see if it helps.
Thanks to everyone for advice and sympathy. 'Tis appreciated! *hugs*
Ugh...I didn't read through the entire thread but it sounds like you might have a migraine? Take care and I hope that helps.
I have always enjoyed Excedrin Extra Strength but I know that doesn't help everyone.

I heard a rumor that a significant something by a significant Fawtly would soon be coming to a significant site. Feel free to spread this significant rumor!
I heard this significant someone is an unmitigated ass and hasn't gotten what the other significant someone with the significant site needs to make magic happen.
Or are we talking about another significant someone? :)

Well then, I stand corrected. I think. I don't know. I am confused now.

The wait will hopefully not be too significant, despite its insignificance.

The first few weeks are tough, but it doesn't last too long. How often are you feeding?

Well, that's the problem....
We got him home and she hasn't had much success, which upsets both her and the baby (and daddy as well). So we've had to keep resorting to the pre-packaged bottles of formula from the hospital. We're finally out of those, and have to resort to regular formula.
We did go see a lactation expert today, and that went great, she was able to feed from both sides for about an hour. But we haven't been able to reproduce that at home, which once again got the wife real upset.
Tomorrow, I'm going to call my friend whose wife breast fed both of their kids, and see if she can't give Sarah so good tips, or even just moral support.

My son wasn't able to nurse at all. I pumped breast milk for him for the first month and let me tell you those middle of the night feedings when I was pumping as fast as I could while the baby was screaming were absolutely harrowing. Unfortunately my milk gave out from the stress before the pediatrician figured out that my son had a sinus infection. I was very stressed out and angry and disappointed at the time, but the truth is that while breast milk is great and all it's not a crime to give your child formula.
I'm guessing your wife is feeling pretty emotional and stressed out about now. I wish I had something really cool and insightful to say, but really all I can say is that it gets better. Whether Charlie is ever able to nurse or not. It's going to be okay. It sounds to me like you guys are being terrific, responsible parents and I wish you the best of luck in figuring things out.
