Moff - I'm not unwilling to examine my conduct in threads about religion, but I feel beset by folks who don't seem to bother listening any more than they accuse me of it. The slavery discussion and the issue of Christ claiming he knew when to return are good examples. I can't get a response to Matthew 24:36 or to verses related to the actual "work" of the Messiah for the life of me. Just repeated assertions that I apparently don't read my own scriptures. Even your own post makes references to attitudes or comments I've never made. If I have, point me to them and I will quickly apologize.
I left those threads because there's nothing I can do. You engage someone on the grounds that you believe, they talk about flying spaghetti monsters. You try to engage on facts, you are ignored except for the ridicule. I struggle to see myself as the bad guy. Or at least any more a bad guy (as ridiculee) than others (as ridiculers).
I appreciate your apology, although I was never mad. Just a little weirded out.
Oh. And now I see Mr. Moorluck's post above. I'll exit the thread and not return. Didn't realize it was more or less a dedicated thread for a small group. Sorry.

I get the feeling that you are really trying too hard to convince people that you are right and they are wrong. That hasn't worked yet and is unlikely to. Try being "Christ" and you will probably get a lot farther.

It's not. I was feeling frustrated and vented where I shouldn't have.

Not at all. I used to have that impression too, but its not the case. The thread regulars are very welcoming to new members of the FAWTLy community, so long as the thread rules (the ones that Moorluck posted)that have kept these threads going strong for 2 years and helped forge many strong friendships, are respected.
That's one of the great things about this thread. You have people who might have very different opinions when it comes to politics, religion, gaming or just life in general, but this is a place where we leave those differences aside and just focus on being Paizonians, FAWTLies and friends.
Sometimes it is natural to want to vent to your friends, but as Moorluck mentioned this thread is probably not the place to specifically call other members of our community out.

Hellloooooooo is there anybody home?
My Girls are going to visit the in-laws in Canberra tomorrow and they will be away for the weekend.
I have to stay in Sydney and work at my stupid evil bank :-(
I will be able to buy spare ribs and make my self some salt and pepper ribs :-) (I am normally not allowed as they are bad for me)
And Daisy our cat will still be here to wake me up and demand her breakfast and a pat.
I might get some crap 80's and 90's movies out to watch as well. Mrs 8th Dwarf does not feel that Police Academy, Waynes World ,and Bill and Ted's excellent adventure are the stuff comic genius and I am subject to much harrumphing when I watch them... :-(

Good morning FAWTLiers!
Dawn breaks over the frigid lands of Nova Anglia. Helios tosses in bed, deciding whether it is better to turn over in his Arachne-spun sheets or get the chariot prewarmed for his frigid commute. A monkey stirs and contemplates his Sisyphean labors of dispensing hot water admixtured with the oils of crushed beans to the priests of Asclepius whilst avoiding the occasional caduceus aimed at his pointy cranium.

Good morning, Mythic Monkey. Good morning others who might be nosing about in the morning shadows! Your offering is acceptable to the servants of the Thrice-Blest!

Not dedicated, enjoyed yes. Steven, no one is "prohibited" from posting here. I only wished to remind everyone of the rules, and to dispel this belief that we endorse gossiping about other posters. Yes we are a group of friends, and yes this is our "clubhouse" if you like. But we welcome just about any one into our mix as long as the previously mentioned rules are followed.
And thank you Steven for making a huge stink over it. :)

Moth, as someone who had differences with you in the past, I want to say how happy I am that you joined us. It is the same with more than one of our fellows, but here we have put all that aside and gotten to know one another as people first. I think that is the greatest thing about FaWTL.
Thank you for your words, as strange as it sounds they made my morning. :)

Y'know, sometimes it takes someone making a big stink about something to help put things in perspective.
See, I learned something today. It doesn't matter if you're a dogmatist or an anti-dogmatist. Everyone has a middle ground. For most of us that's BttH (B could mean at least two different things here).

Just sayin'. The game is awesome. I squee'd like a little girl when I got an in-game email from Bruce Wayne.
Seek help. I recommend visiting Mr House in New Vegas. ;)

Our ramblings have pushed the PMG to seek out knowledge with which to deal with the volume. Like the newly born, looking out at the world beyond its nest. Intimitated at first, the youngling learns to embrace the world that it sees spread out before him. It is good. :)

If the wife allows him to stay you will. I hope that we can get him a better home, as his current accommodations is dirt and leaf filled fishbowl with some screen duct taped over the top.
