Does spending the day plotting out daily weather for the next calendar year for my Darkmoon Vale campaign make me an anal retentive GM?
How old are you?
Looking back on it, it was probably the biggest waste of time. Never did it after the first day and realized that truth be told, weather doesn't matter enough to map it out for a year. (And no one cared.)
I think I was 25 at the time.
If you actually use it and people appreciate it then it's probably great. If not, then you probably are.

And (now that I know) Sebastian (when he does stuff like that) is just trying to get rid of posters who seem to be trying to derail a thread that he was enjoying. Usually in a light-hearted way for other's amusement. All he wants is things to get back on track -- especially when people go on and on and on and on and on about the same (off-topic) thing without realizing that's what they're doing.
And I don't think I've seen him step in like that until it's already clear that someone has taken things a little too far...

LOL. I'm 38...so probably too old to be spending my time on it. I've never done it for any other campaign, but I've already incorporated some of the weather elements into the story.
What will most likely happen is that I'll use it for awhile, then get away from it and forget that I have this file saved with a year's worth of weather forecasts.

It's less awful when you don't realize what you're missing. Since the few times I've tried fish were....we'll just call them interesting (anaphalaxis is no fun) I've never really properly tasted the stuff.

Well, I can tell you that they've(the cops) set up something in front of my apartment building. Once every few weeks, they do regular pull overs searching for guns and drugs. Drives my wife nuts because the angle of the flashing lights keeps her up at night.How's that work? Was there some sort of checkpoint set up? I've driven between New York and Vermont, and New York and Pennsylvania with a gun in the car, and had zero problem.Travelling with guns caused a lot of drama up here in NY not too long ago. I would be very careful if you are carrying firearms between states.Damn I want to visit MB so badly. Getting cabin fever here in Iowa. How are the gun laws down there LPM. Can if they have reasonable suspicion. Like the time I was pulling out of a predominately black neighborhood known for it's drug houses, at 2am. I was taking a girl who lived there home after work, but what they saw was cause to pull me over and search my truck. Back then I still thought the best of people, so I thought they were being d&+$#eads, now I look and say "Yeah, I'd pull him over."
