Rolling blackouts? Are you kiddin? In H-town?

Yup. Bunch of Texas power plants are down. I guess they're all over the state.

I'm on the sixth floor of an office building, and climbing the stairs gets old quickly...but so would being stuck in a dark elevator for 20-45 minutes...

That's why these buildings should totally have stripper poles.
FTFY.

You, sir, will be receiving my therapist's bill.

Well hopefully the rolling black outs will be properly timed to protect you.:)

I assume he's refraining to the PbPs. I see Spanky rear his head on occasion. Otherwise, he's stashing the FB salami.

Snow forts! Fun!

Do you have enough to consider multiple story forts? Those live on in memory as the coolest things ever. :D

No, however the church across the street had a guy with one of those little snow plows. Cat something, forget the name at this moment. Anyway they cleared out our drive and pushed it all by the front of the drive in one place. Meaning half the work is done for them. I asked them to turn it into one massive Snowman or as someone else has done in the city for the last few years a dragon snow sculpture. Alas my kids are too lazy and just wish to pelt each other while I, I have to work.

Which is why this is the last missive from me for what looks like a few hours.

In what would be a major shift in direction, Hulu management has discussed recasting Hulu as an online cable operator that would use the Web to send live TV channels and video-on-demand content to subscribers, say people familiar with the talks. The new service, which is still under discussion, would mimic the bundles of channels now sold by cable and satellite operators, the people said.

In the meantime, in other obscure news, they will slowly crush and throttle the rebellion that is Netflix by redirecting and throttling bandwidth traffic to make instant movie watching unbearable.

I think a Sith Lord is behind this.

It's bad enough NewsNet did it but I want to know why the Weather Network, of all media outlets, is giving the time of day- nevermind legitimacy- to the absurd superstition that is groundhog day. Really? *You guys* are really gonna say "f%$# our doppler radar and our long-term models-- let's base our forecast on a bleary-eyed rodent that we pulled out of a hole!"?

Yep. We're at the airport. Already had to reschedule once because of the messiness yesterday. This one seems set to actually take off.

I suggest Babylon 5 which is available on Netflix. My wife and I just finished it. We are thinking of going to Battlestar Galactica next. For non Sci-fi, I like Better off Ted, also available on Netflix.

Oh and belated congratulations on the 1 year anniversary.

I give unto you Valeros and Nigella Lawson with a dash of Bridget Regan from Legend of the Seeker. She is another one in my elite group of "go straight for". I hope you don't mind but I am keeping Craig Horner for myself.

So the Syracuse area was supposed to be hard-hit by that big storm everyone was talking about. People dug in for the big one--weather advisories, and the like. I had one professor and two guest lecturers cancel classes this week. And finally, the big day comes, and...

I think I've adopted his speech patterns.

Also, this calls for a new version of "Liar," entitled "Liar II: The F@+$ing Weather Channel".

You could totally pull off a Youtube spoof of Liar only making it about weather forecasters like you say. There you are with a TV behind you showing a weatherman pointing to a snowstorm graphic moving into your area. You're standing barechested, donned in a big fluffy winter hat, with sweat dripping down your hate face as you hold up a redlining thermometer and scream, "Because YOU'RE A LIAR!"

I’m not aware of a movie, but the tv show probably fits that description as well.

I kind of think of it as the A-Team for a new generation, but with a burnt ex-spy and his buddies rather than wrongly accused ex-special forces.

I loved Tales of the Golden Monkey back in the day.
