Thanks Hellefire, noted. I think I'm good, though I'll move 5ft to flank the bear.

Caydee shoots at the bear, careful not to hit her friends.

attack(with the -4) 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

M orc Paladin / 1

Swift action Lay on hands (self)....

1d6 ⇒ 1

Attempt to break free...
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Caydee pulls back another arrow and fires again at point blank range, being careful not to hit any of her friends, but the arrow doesn't manage to pierce the bears thick hide.

Also, new people, we mention our actions out of turn sometimes to help things flow better/faster. This may be subject to interpretation by the DM when your turn does come up if anything has changed. Feel free to do this or not, as you wish

Vardara, you're up!

F Human Paladin of Asterius 1/ Boreal Sorceress 1

Flanking the bear, Vardara swings her earth breaker, trying to connect with the beast's spine.

Attack (with power attack) 1d20 + 4 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 - 1 + 2 = 9, damage 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15

Male Human Cleric3

Lose Endure Elements to cast Cure Light Wounds on Fubar:
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Vardara swings her mighty maul, but fails to connect with the bear.

Fubar calls upon his god's aid, but in his weakened state only manages a spark of healing, healing 1 point of damage. He also tries to wriggle free of the bear's grasp, but fails.

Ahz reaches over and speaks more words of healing, causing some of Fubar's worse wounds to close and healing 8 points of damage.

Robbo, you're up

Male Halfling Bard 2

Deciding that the party needs a bit of motivation, Robbo steps back and begins to dance a merry jig while calling out shouts of encouragement.

5-foot step back followed by Inspire Courage.

Hoppin' Robbo starts....hopping. It is a strangely pursuasive dance that makes you all feel a bit mroe bold and sure of yourselves....

Meanwhile, mamma bear attempts to squeeze the life out of Fubar...

dice rolls:

to maintain grapple: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (7) + 20 = 27
damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

...and appears to be successfulyl as she squeezes hard, causing 12 months of damage. Fubar slips into unconsciousness in her grasp...

Fubar is at 21-9+12 = 24 damage, which I believe puts you at -2 hp

Krill, you're up!

I had thought I'd manage a bit of the trip as well, but I think this combat will finish off my month at the DM helm. Volunteers for next shift? Because the new guys just started, I won't insist it is one of their turns yet, but if one wants to volunteer feel free. If neither does, then the current order is fubar-caydee-vardara-me, so its Fubars turn next (again, depending if Krill and/or Robbo want to jump into the DM seat yet).

Krill looks in alarm at the fading Fubar. He attempts a quick jab, hoping to hit a vulnerable area, whilst summoning his energy for a stun.

Standard Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage:1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Add 1 use Stunning Fist: DC14

Krill delivers a decent blow to the bears right ear...

dice rolls:

save:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23

...which obviously causes the bear pain, but not the stunned look Krill was going for. Krill, if I'm not wrong, there should be another 2 points of damage there? +1 for dirty fighter since you're flanking, and +1 for Robbo's Inspire Courge?

Caydee, you're up!

Yeah, that's correct. Hitting for a total of 9 points. Hope the bear falls soon.

Male Halfling Bard 2

As I don't really know what's going on with the story, I'll pass on DMing for now :)

M orc Paladin / 1

After Caydees turn....

Fubar calls upon his orc heritage and the ferocity of his race and stubbornly holds on to consciousness long enough to attempt to heal himself enough to stay in the fight....

Lay on hands
1d6 ⇒ 4

Caydee looks a bit frightened at Fubar's plight, but fires just as carefully as ever.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Caydee takes careful aim, and fires at point blank range. Due to inspiration from Robbo's dance (+1 to hit and damage) and the bears distraction from mauling Fubar, the arrow slides in between two of its ribs and it roars in pain as it takes 8 points of damage.

On the other side of that coin, please remember to add all bonuses for traits and effects and such affecting you...I miss some myself sometimes, so I occasionally spot check other peoples...I just happened to notice Krill and Caydee's this round. But please keep a note of these.

Vardara, you're up! Fubar, I'll apply that just after Vardara.

Krill, you going to want a turn now, or should Fubar start getting geared up for his turn?

I'll go ahead and post my actions.
Inspired by Robbo's jig, Krill lets fly a classic one-two, and really lets go.

Feel that huh?

Flurry Power Attack:1d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 91d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 23 (jig,flank)

Damage:1d6 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 121d6 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 11 (PA,trait,jig)

Sorry Krill, I meant turn at DM, not combat turn. Duly noted for when we get back around to you though!

Well, I haven't an idea yet on how's the adventure going. I'd let Fubar DM first.

No problem - Fubar, that puts you up as next DM. Hm, maybe I shouldn't squeeze the life out of you ;)

M orc Paladin / 1

Depends.....hopefully someone can heal me up...

Vardara, sorry about all the random chat in the middle, still your turn

Fubar: and of course we have to hope Vardara doesn't role a nat 1 and brain you with her hammer ;). By the way, new guys, I have some home rules for crits and fumbles I use, I'll look them back up and re-post them.

F Human Paladin of Asterius 1/ Boreal Sorceress 1

Vardara, still on her foot tries once again to free Fubar by striking the Bear back.

Attack with flank and PA 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 - 1 + 1 = 23, damage 2d6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 + 1 = 16

Vardara stamps her little foot and swings her huge hammer...and connects with the base of the bear's skull. There is a sharp 'crack', and the bear topples to the side.

Fubar, who you swore you saw swoon into unconsciousness jsut a second before, grimaces in determination and calls to his God, and heals himself for 4 points of damage. (putting him at 24 - 4 = 20hp down).

Male Human Cleric3

Untrusting of bear corpses, I will trade Bless to again heal Fubar:

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Fubar grunts in pain, still looking a bit banged up (currently at 14hp down). You all look at the still figure of the bear corpse, huge even in death. And behind you, a small mewling sound comes to your ears as the baby bear goes to its dead mother.

And with that, I leave Fubar to take over. XP from Ogre fight = 1600/4 = 400, XP from bear fight = 1600/6 = 267, total from fights = 667, which I will round to 700, and add 100 for roleplaying and meeting new members and working on quests. Total xp = 800 (giving the same to all to keep everyone even, though new people werent in the ogre fight), so everyone should have 2900 xp now (a mere 400 short from level 3).

What to do with the bear cub? It'll surely die if none is to fend for it.

Can we skin the bear corpse please? :)

Male Halfling Bard 2

"Phew! Well he's a cute little fella', but I doubt he'd be too fond of us after we did in his momma like that. As I don't have any better suggestions, I'm thinking we should leave him to his grief," says Robbo in a sad voice. Walking casually over to Fubar, the little halfling mutters some words and makes a few gestures, bringing some more healing energy to bear on the big half-orc.

Healing Fubar: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Healing Fubar:
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Casting Cure Light Wounds twice.

"Well that's all the magic I've got in me. Hope you're feeling better big guy, I generally avoid getting that intimate with thousand pound hairy women with temper problems, but to each his own!" Once he's finished with the healing, he turns to the party and asks, "So where to now?"

Male Human Cleric3

Well, not to seem like a heartless bastard...but it is cold here and his mother isn't helping anyone much anymore. I agree with using all parts...but maybe we should get the little guy out of sight first...also...I think he'll die if we leave him here. Maybe Karrg can take care of him? Yikes, maybe we should just open up an orphanage....

channel energy: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Fubar, buddy, I think you can sleep off the rest. Way to hold in there by the way! So...bear stew for breakfast?

M orc Paladin / 1

"Not sure what else can go wrong before bed tonight, best do somethin with tha carcass afore you turn in fer tha night."

fubar does not even remember what watch he has....

uses last lay on hands
1d6 ⇒ 4

M orc Paladin / 1

HF, did you want me to take over DMing today?

Caydee sighs heavily. "Da*&. This quest of ours had better fix a heck of a lot of problems, in reparation for this sort of thing." She takes out her hunting knife. "As the tracker, I'd best prepare the carcass. Someone move the cub away."

Male Human Cleric3

I'll use comprehend languages and see if I can get Karrg to help me take the cub for a walk while giving him his daily language lesson, and grumbling about babysitting.

Or whenever you're ready Fubar...that's about all I have ready and I think I overran my turn a bit, so whenever is good for you.

Here, let me look at your wounds, Fubar. Then you can rest.

Heal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 x2 level heal on rest.

After resting up on the ice and taking some extra time to get Fubar fully recovered and ready to go you take a day and a half camping an extended period of time.....

Anyone who needs to make rolls for animal training, lanuague lessons, or anything else can do so at this time......

That means only a half days travel for today......
As you start out the weather seems fine.

Random DM roll
1d100 ⇒ 72

Male Halfling Bard 2

As the cold mountain air blows against his face, Robbo shivers and looks up at his companions. "So guys, do you know what sorts of items we're going to be looking for when we finally track down this ice cave? The elders of Camlin were a bit vague I'm afraid."

Male Human Cleric3

Linguistics roll for language lesson (adding +2 for usew of comprehend language spell unless any given DM states differently):
1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 = 20

Sorry guys, I have one...extra...to take care of. I don't know that I can do much for the cub. Though Karrg might be able to help out whoever does want that job...

I fill Robbo and Krill in on the various info we have had so far about the metal man/men. So, its something between some gnomish invention or some ice god's holy messenger...or something. We're still kind of unsure about it oursevles, thoguh we're trying to be as correct as possible in how we deal with it - regarding ownership, etc. And...maybe turn enough of a profit to eat for a month or two would be nice, though we're still entirely unsure how we're going to handle that as well.

M orc Paladin / 1

Fubar stretches the final stiffness from the injuries out of his body....

"Last night I dreamed Caydee was squeezing and biting me!"

"Only kidding, I think a helmet might keep things from tryin tah bite mah head off."

"We have lots tah do with tha yeti an with tha artifacts an possibly with tha tengu, what shall we do now?"

Caydee

Spoiler:
