"I don't want to spend any more nights in there than humanly possible."
Erodel looks at Cole and rather matter-of-factly states, "Well, shouldn't we get going then? The sooner we enter, the sooner we're out, right?"

Desvartes |

Des does slow down, even seems to dawdle slightly,
"I think now is the time to check gear and buy any last minute things that need buying. The rest of the trip is out in the big bad woods folks. Not the place to find one's self unprepared for something untoward." He smiles as he looks around at his companions.
"Perhaps a quick tally of equipment?" He asks.
Feel free to peruse Des' equipment, make suggestions, that sort of thing.

Cole nods at the half-elf, "Wise idea, we should buy extra rations, just in case hunting for food is unsuccessful."

Desvartes |

Des nods as people begin to compare poses ions.
"Every one have bed rolls? No one wants to double up?" He arches an eyebrow at the last comment, "Water skins for all is a good idea." He sighs, "Buying rations and some implements might be in order." He mutters to himself as eh looks for a 'general' store, or some where that things can be bought.
I am also happy to forgo the Horse I had on the character sheet for the previous game. Unless we think a pack horse and its supplies are a good idea?

There is a smallish house towards the middle of the village that has various items-cloth, rope, etc.-out for sale, and a bored looking elderly man sits in a rocking chair smoking a pipe near the wares.
You may bring the horse if you wish. It's your characters decision :). If you do decide to, your horse will have been in this village, being tended to, waiting for you to retrieve it. You'll have to post your horse's description.

Cole realizes he never got a bedroll, so he will swing by the general store to pick one up. On the comment about doubling up, he looks away without saying anything.
If there was anyone he would 'double up' with, it would be Raff, he he

Desvartes |

Des pays the hostler well for the care of his mount. Thanking the person and adding a small amount extra in thanks to the amount of money handed over. Leading his horse towards the small 'General Store', Des checks the saddle bags and other tack.
"Now, let me see..." He muses about what things he has to add to the equipment carried.
Willing to let others load some of the heavier stuff upon the horse and use it for hauling purposes. Will help keep every one's movement speeds up. :)

Perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Erodel will pay a bit closer attention the entrances/exits from store, heeding Kyras' warnings and preparing for trouble

Desvartes |

Having not seen who slipped out of the trading post Desvartes humor is darker than usual as he walks along, a frown creasing his brow. Soon enough his good mod returns, a swagger returns to his step and a light tune does he hum to himself.
Perception:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Desvatres does, however, keep a watchful eye upon the forest around them as they travel. He nods at Cole's call for caution.
"Well, I do believe the horse should be at the center. Carrying things as it is." Des notes in reply

Erodel tries to hold back a small laugh after seeing Mash's misunderstanding.
"I think I'll keep myself between the horse and the othe..umm...Mash", Erodel says with a grin across his face.

Keselous Valentine |

Keselous grins and stretches as the group moves along. He has been quiet trying to put thoughts of greed aside, he does not want to try and swipe the artifact and run. after repeating the phrase in his head a mere hundred times he thinks he has himself convinced.
While he hasn't been out of the city and hasn't realized how a night in the woods is alone, he has been a street rat most of his life and has dealt with sleeping in less than hospitable places before.

Cole Keegan |

Cole responds to the half elf, "Well that is easy, it... then stops for a moment, wondering if he was being insulted or whether Desvartes was simply joking. The more he thought about it, the more he was convinced he was being made fun of.
Cole sighs to himself, thinking It's obvious he doesn't take this seriously. How many days will this journey be?

Raff |

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Raff notices the door shutting. His only reaction is to pop a piece of sugar candy into his mouth. Like his brother, he forgot to a bedroll earlier and takes this opportunity to correct that.
As the group moves into the forest, he stays near his brother. Raff keeps on the alert for any trouble.
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Yucale |
It looks like a very normal forest. The canopy is thin enough to let a good amount of light through. The path is wide enough for two people to walk side-by-side, but no wider.
Could I have the marching order, please? I know Mash is at the front, the horse is in the middle, Cole is at the back and Raff is in front of Cole, but I don't know where everyone else is.

I'll be between the horse and Mash.

Raff |

"Take it easy people. We're just your average band of cutthroats, thieves, and holy men going for a stroll in the woods. Nothing of consequence will happen. Stop being so paranoid and enjoy the journey. There's nothing to worry about."
Raff continues to scan the trees for trouble.

Erodel continues to periodically send Corvax, his raven familiar, out on short scouting missions, while keeping an eye on the situation himself.
Perception (if needed):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

![]() |

Corax notices some movement behind them, but it's probably just wildlife.
Could you estimate the surface area the troop covers, please, length and width?
Perception check, everyone (except Erodel). Corax included.
Corax goes out ~200 ft. from the edge of the group in all directioins (makes a big circle) when he does his scouting runs.
Perception for Corax:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

![]() |

I mean how much square ground the group covers, roughly, in its current marching order. Not including Corax.
The way I saw it described, I'm guessing ~80ft long x 20ft wide

Cole Keegan |

Actually, just tell me, if there were a 10' circle with the outer edge right at Mash's toes and going back into the group, who would be standing on it?
The way I understand it, is Mash and Keselous are walking together, followed by Erodel, then Desvartes and the Horse, and finally Raff and Cole. I believe only Keselous is within' 10' of Mash.
