Once we are outside the city gates, "We done Cole, we'll make a dishonest man of you yet." Erodel says with a sly grin.
Cole allows himself a smile, replying, "Good luck with that, Raff here has been working me for many years now. Maybe if you two worked together...and yes Mash, he let us go because we didn't do anything wrong."
Raff
"Really? Didn't I say that you'd make the perfect distraction? That guard will remember you and Mash and forget about the rest of us. So when he eventually notices his purse missing he'll never suspect us."
At Cole's look that turns from incredulous to furious Raff starts to laugh.
"You're too easy."

There are still a few people about, on the road you are now standing on, though no one is close enough to hear your group's casual conversation. The clear, crisp, windy air of late summer is, of course, sea-scented. The broad unpaved road travels ahead a ways, a few farms visible this near the town. The road narrows up ahead and eventually dissappears into a windblown forest after exiting a smallish village.
Erodel Voralius

Erodel travels along with the rest of group quietly, unless spoken to first. Occasionally sending his raven out to scout around for a short amount of time.
Desvartes
I am again assuming Desvartes does have the map of their directions and such. Please enlighten me if the character does not actually have the map. *bows*
To Coles' question, Des draws the map from the pocket within his vest and unfolds it, presenting it at such an angle so that some others may peruse the item if they so choose.
Perception:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12(To actually make sense of the map)
Hmmm, perhaps an 'Aid other' is called for?
Raff
Raff takes a look at the map as well
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
If allowed, he'll make a copy as well.
"Looking after Mash, I don't like how much that one likes taverns. His habits and ill manner will cause us trouble in time."
Erodel Voralius

"According to this map, our next stop is Haven, but to get there requires a trip through the forest. Guess where the ambush is coming from."
Erodel sighs, "I wish I could disagree with that. Through the forest it is."
Turning his attention to the raven on his shoulder, "Corax, I believe your scouting missions are going to have to become more frequent."
Desvartes
As Desvartes saunters along, at Coles' comment about/to Mash he notes,
"Well, the fellow is doing well to both imbibe and keep up with us. I've heard say that a good stout ale is almost a meal in itself. Perhaps Mash is just thinking about saving on rations?" Des smiles, hoping others share in his attempt at humor.
Diplomacy:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Cole Keegan
Cole turns a stare to the half elf, and bites back a retort. Trying to keep his temper under control, he mutters to both of them, "Yeah, I suppose so, just try to keep up, all right?"
Good diplomacy roll, but Cole has some issues to deal with, why he has a 9 CHA.
BTW, you better hope he never finds out of your...otherworldy heritage, he he.
Raff
"The smart thing to do is to not wonder what it is. Don' ask about it. Don't give it a second thought. Don't give it any consideration beyond knowing that we have to get it there safely. If you do, you'll start something ugly and people will start dying. Trust me on this."
Cole Keegan
Cole starts to respond with a sarcastic remark, but seeing his brother's serious expression, closes his mouth, without uttering a word. He glances over at Erodel, who is carrying the item, and wonders what he has gotten himself into. Things were much simpler just following orders and not questioning them, but he was not an automaton, and could not help but question. Seems like that is all he did nowadays was question.

"Just one of my thoughts. I don't get a lot of them. I was hoping we could go back to the Globe and kill that cloak-man. Something very strange about him and the cloak."
Erodel gives Mash an odd look, "I believe we were hired to deliver an item, not murder a man just because some of us might believe there is something a bit strange about him."
Looking around at the rest of the group, and the somewhat strange mix of people in it, "I would certainly hope that's not the case."
Keselous Valentine
Keselous raises an eyebrow. Mash my friend, You should thank the cloaked man, he has sent us on a journey that will afford you the chance to kill more than just him.I believe that the package will have others after us shortly enough. a descrete nod is givien to Erodel. As they walk Keselous will start to drag his feet and put some space between himself and the moody half orc.
Yucale
You are just leaving the rather sparsely populated town. Some farmers are out, most of them staring at you, and a few goats are wandering around as well. While not nearly as poor as some villages, it has a wary look, as though readying itself for some hardship. The thick forest looms ahead of you, a path opening between the trees.
Mash, Son of Slash
"Mash, you are no longer allowed to think. You thinking will only be trouble for the rest of us. It is a wonder that you thinking hasn't gotten you killed already."
"If i ever get another thought again, trust me, I will say it. It may not happen today. It may not happen tomorrow, but if it does..."
Mash immediately heads to the general store to buy a flask, then to tavern where he gets the bar wench to fill it up with the meanest, strongest ales available.
Mash gives each merchant 1 gp.

Colwe looks up at the sky as the group prepares to enter the forest. He motions Desvartes over , and asks, "So how long do you think it will take to make it through the forest boundaries? I don't want to spend any more nights in there than humanly possible."
He notices the half-orc has disappeared again. "I am not waiting for him, let him catch up to us!"
