The Treasure of Arainu (discussion thread)

Play-by-Post Discussion

This is the discussion thread for the pbp, "The Treasure of Arainu". 'Probably not very hard to guess, considering the title.

Which experience chart will we be following? Slow, medium, or fast?
Or given the heavy roleplay nature of the campaign you described will you just let us know when we've leveled?

Thanks.

Human Monk 4| HP 52/52| AC 21| Fo +9 (7) Re +11 Wi +9| Percep +7 Stealth +9| Move 35'| Hero Points 1/1 Focus 2/2

Maybe I missed it, but how are we doing starting gold?

Roll for the starting gold, as described in the Core Rulebook.

I'll keep track of XP and tell you when it's time to level up.

Male elf 1 rouge

Hey Cole, no offense in the thread, it is just that the life of the rouge has introduced him to the rougher side of Iomedae. I just pictured a crook seeing a police officer with his badge sticking out while sitting in a mobsters office waiting for instructions on their next big run.

*snicker, none taken, he he. The only reason you saw it was the detect magic spell he cast, he he

Male elf 1 rouge

okie dok, just didn't want to start trouble two posts into the game lol.

so I don't keep checking my self, if I do anything anyone finds troublesome feel free to let me know here. I am and will be doing my best to Rp the character I have made. but I don't want to do so at the cost of others.

I look forward to weaving this tale with you all.

Ted/Mash, do you know how to create and post as an alias?

Male Elf (Aquatic) Fighter 1

Posting to show I'm still here. Just no time still to change things enough to actually get into the game, as yet.

Will try and get things done over this week end.

Everyone's Chaotic Neutral except for Cole and Raff. And Cole is Lawful Good. We are in trouble.

Male Elf (Aquatic) Fighter 1

Nonsense, we're just a little 'motivationaly challenged'. =D

Not nearly as much as when my group has CE, CG, NG, LN, and CN neutral characters. Well, it was mainly the ongoing arguments between the somewhat-overbearing LN wizard and the violent CE barbarian.

Wow, so you have both alignment and class conflicts, gotta love it, he he.

The barbarian chose to head off on his own, partly because the wizard kicked him out of the group.

So it was an amicable parting, no wizard pieces left strewn all over the place, he he?

Yes, the barbarian simply agreed to leave. He was rather anxious to try and find a dragon and, well, join the dark side anyway. If he had attacked, the sorceress would've gone ballistic. And the halfling. And then the other rogue would've probably attacked just for the fun of it, though the cleric would've been nowhere to be found until after the combat.

So player played true to his alignment. It is very hard to play a CE character (although i did play one in a PbP here, before it died) since they are not team players, to say the least.

No, player nature and character nature simply happened to be unfortunately aligned.

If that is the case, then good riddance to him. I don't know how much of a friend he was, but that is not acceptable.

Well, he's my younger cousin (ten or eleven, acts younger). And he's probably not as bad as I made him seem, but he has no concept whatsoever of self-discipline. Our only right-clicking mouse is now dead due to his "exuberance". And we can't really afford to replace it at the moment.

Sorry I thought he was older, I believe he'll grow out of it. And I haven't realized mouses were expensive to replace. (Says the man using an old PS2 mouse, he he)

Apparently, they are.

Does the pc have a USB mouse?

The only existing computer in our house is a mac. My dad seems to have a vendetta against PCs. (And I don't really know computer lingo)

Ok, no problem, I work in tech support, it is hard to avoid the lingo sometimes. Since it is a Mac, you need to buy a Mac mouse for it, I understand now.

Apparently Appleworks won't work on a PC, therefore I can't work on my "book" at school, which is the reason I got it in the first place. *grumble*

IIRC, there is a utility that allows you to run Windows on a mac pc, I forget what it's called though.

the computer teacher doesn't seem to understand half of the PCs at school.

Male elf 1 rouge

ugh, I hate it when a teacher doesn't have the skills necessary.

Exactly.

Male elf 1 rouge

Vows to murder the woman.

How did the bug bear have two attacks this round, and not use them on the same initiative?

AoO, probably. And I am mentally kicking myself for not reading the Core Rulebook recently enough :).

Sorry if I'm holding things up or seem slow to post lately. I've started a new job and the training is taking up a lot of my time. Hopefully once I'm out of training I will be able to keep up with the flow of action better.
