Through the din of metal clashing, a sudden silence offers a strange solace to Trevor, as though Iomedae herself was parting the clouds to touch him.

He feels a strangeness, yet remains calm, as if suspended between alternate realities and possibilities: Is this the end?

Sorry for the lapse everyone I somehow missed the last three posts and was waiting on Lueck. whoops.
Round 2

Lueck unfurls another scroll, and casts Bless on the group.
Aaremeth draws a second bomb, questioning his new techniques effectiveness, there was something obviously off about that last flask, still much perfecting to be done. perhaps this one will do better. He grips the flask and tosses it at the area five feet in front of where big Trevor is.with the same squares off limits squares as the prior turn, the three squares in front of the tentacle beast and the ones to the sides. The blast rocks the creature (7 points).
It strikes out at Trevor again, but this new larger Trevor is more than the creature can handle it seems. It recoils preparing for another attempt.
Nikolae readies his crossbow, but incants a spell instead of firing it, trilling the words Aquila Celestianis as his fingers contort into a painful-looking gesture.
An eagle with feathers that look like long, thin leaves, in a riot of autumnal yellow, orange and red, appears in mid-flight, as if it soared straight out of his space, coalescing into solidity in midair, next to the flying squid-creature that just abandoned it's attack on Aaremeth. Apparently unconcerned with the shadowy visibility, it attacks with a flurry of flapping wings, raking talons and snapping beak. It strikes with beak and talon the mass of tentacles fall to the ground. Vermiis quickly pounces ensuring the creatures fate and sating his curiosity as to the edibility of the creatures. Bleh, too chewy. Vermiis growls spitting out a mouthful of tentacle.
Hearing the sounds of combat from below, Harn decides to act. Jumping into the hole, Harn uses his skills learned in the giant Darkwoods to land so as to reduce the pain that would result. In an amazing act of aerobatics the large lumberjack makes the impossible look like hopping a puddle as he lands more graceful than a man his size ever should be able to. Then he looks around for any threats to swing his axe at.
Now that he's been squeezed, enlarged and greased, Trevor just wants to put an end to this. "WHAT - KIND - OF - THING - aryou!!!" and lets his huge axe crash down on the creature. The axe hacks through the beast like rotting wood. It falls to the ground. Another foe vanquished to the mighty heroes of Falcons Hollow.

Glad to see you back. I'm really enjoying this game.

Trevor is glad to see the creature twitch to its end. He notices that the second one also got rid of. As Harn flipflops elegantly in front of him, Is this what they call ballet? I better not ask him. he takes his bearing, remembering that the big wolf is but a few steps away. He walks fast to the door and, as he closes it, says to the wolf: "Give us a moment, would you?" then turns towards the group: "What were those things? Let's get a look at this place before they get a chance. Who knows what foul cult was at work here."

He'll then proceed to take a good look around, looking for anything special that would give meaning to this place.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

EDIT: Maybe I read wrong, but I think the critters are dead. If not, and we're still in combat, ignore or postpone those actions.

No they are dead. I don't think anyone has Know dungeoneering but if I am wrong a dc 15 check will shine some light on the nature of the critters

Trevor:
You see that at one time this was a shrine to Torag, but has been defaced and you notice symbols of Droskar here and there carved into the walls. your great size also helps you to notice a book atop the bookcase. Whereas the rest of the books seem moldy and ruined this one merely is covered in dust.

You note that there are five small depressions on the shrine about the size of a grape.

Male Elven Alchemist 1

Perception1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

"Well done gentlemen!"

AAremeth notices Trevor taking a look around and does so as well. He snoops around the room

The elf seems to be fascinited with the terrible state the place is in.

"You know, I am not sure why but I had a terrible feeling earlier that the fly creatures were going to be flying kittens or cherurbs, I'm not sure why."

The 'last' button sometimes doesn't take you to the last page, if there are only a couple of posts on it, which can be very annoying... I end up posting something, going back to look at it, and finding out that there's a couple posts I've never even seen, that make it look like I wasn't even reading!

Nikolae pokes at one of the squishy fallen creatures with his morningstar.

Where I grew up, on the coast, the wealthy would sometimes eat a delicacy named calimari, that resembled this, but smaller. They produced an inky cloud of darkness, but it was an actual liquid, that was used to make ink for writing. I thought they only lived in the ocean, and I'm pretty sure they couldn't fly...

He finally leaves the nasty looking corpse, and turns to examine the shrine, muttering an incantation as he does to open his eyes to the auras of magic.

detect magic, then a Perception roll 1d20 ⇒ 13

Vermiis remains intrigued by the concept, and leans a paw against one of the bodies, pushing on it with more and more force, trying to make it 'squirt out more darkness.'

"From the look of it, this was a shrine to Torag, but here are some signs of Droskar. Does that fit with your knowledge of Droskar, Lueck?"

Looking around, still very tall, he takes the book on top of the shelf, showing it to Nikolae: "See? This one's not rotten. What do you think?"

Finally, he points to the five small depression he's found on the shrine: "Tell me AAremeth, what do you make of these?"

Male Elven Alchemist 1

Aaremeth purses his lips as he is drawn away from a sneaky little centipede that he found under a rotting piece of wood, sometimes searching an area lead to finding things you wouldn't scoop up in throw in your pouch. He attends Trevor's more adventurous and appropriate curiosity. he studies the indention on the shrine.

I assume that I still am using the percp roll of 16, let me know if you need another.

Lueck:
It fits that servants of Droskar would reface a shrine of Torag. Droskar is an evil and harsh master not likely to tolerate other gods being worshiped.

Nikolae:
When Trevor hands you the tome you notice an aura coming from the back a scroll has been tucked into the book. It by the way is a beautifully illuminated book written in dwarven runes. It has to be worth money.

AAremeth:
you would guess that some sort of small items go in the depressions. Gems or some religious items being most likely.

Male Elven Alchemist 1

Oh, hmmm I dunno maybe you insert religious items, jewels, maybe a blood sacrifice given the previous thoughts on the cruelness of the god in particular. perhaps fingertips. Aaremeth presses his fingertips into the indention. looking to see if there is any trick to the alter.

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian / 2

Looking around the room, Harn asks, "They all dead?" before shrugging his shoulders a bit and putting his axe away. Letting the others search the room, Harn simply keeps an eye out for any other trouble that might come the groups way.

The Exchange

Male Human Summoner 2

The tome itself appears valuable, particularly to a dwarven collector, but it also conceals a magical scroll of some sort. Nikolae relates to the others.

Lacking any obvious target, the celestial eagle lands on the old altar, and it and Vermiis regard each other warily, with Vermiis stalking round it curiously, and the eagle fluttering its wings and adjusting its position to never allow the Eidolon to get behind it, snapping its beak in a warning motion.

Moments later, the eagle raises its wings and head towards the heavens and dissolves into golden motes of light that soar upwards and out of sight.

That's pretty consistent from what I remember. Torag and his followers did not get along with Droskar and his; Droskar was too harsh and downright evil for Torag's to tolerate. Droskar wouldn't tolerate other gods being worshipped, being the jealous kind. When it comes to Droskar, forget what you know about dwarves.

Lueck scans around a little nervously. I hope there aren't any left here. It would be like facing the evil and cunning of hobgoblins, but with the power and skill of dwarves.

"What magical scroll? Pray tell!"

The Exchange

Male Human Summoner 2

This one, Nikolae says, handing Trevor the scroll. I am... self-taught, in the ways of the arcane, and could not hazard a guess what sort of magic it contains.

He doesn't sound thrilled to admit his lack of training in this area...

Carefully, Trevor takes the scroll from Nikolae, to step towards where AAremeth is studying the five depressions: "Any luck? Maybe you can take a look at this scroll, Nikolae says it contains some arcane formulas. It'd be nice if we could make sense of it."

A spellcraft or read magic would tell you what spell or spells are on the scroll. It does have the symbol ot Torag on the bottom of it.

Male Elven Alchemist 1

AAremeth glances at the scroll.

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

Aaremeth nods and reads the scroll.

before relating the details of the scroll the elf looks to NikolaeYou are too hard on your self friend, it should not be the elf imitates the dry tone that he used.I am... self-taught, in the ways of the arcane. he smiles lightly it should be, I have tuaght myself everything I know! You are quite skilled, paticularly as you have learned all you know on your own. If you seek a bit of formal knowledge I would be glad to help.

AAremeth takes a moment to look over the scroll.

AAremeth:
Spiritual Weapon, and Cure Serious wounds

Male Elven Alchemist 1

AAremeth goes quiet as he goes back to inspecting the sacrilegious device. he then looks up at the companions that are still waiting for an answer. "Oh right! Spiritual Weapon, and Cure Serious wounds"

he glances around. "well if there is nothing else to be found lets go get our payment from the worg and be on our way, Shall we make haste away from here?"

Yes, let's see what's involved in collecting on the wolves' promise...

Wasn't there a door in this room? Except the one we came from.

"Yes."

I'm not sure. I scrolled up looking for the last map but I missed it somehow. Could we get a new link when it is convenient? Thanks!

Map

Yes in center of southern wall.

Male Elven Alchemist 1

we can always come back to see what grey pelt is up to, I fear for our hallow though.

GreyPelt! it is finished The bipeds speak true, shall we now have our fungus? AAremeth calls out loudly. Your pups can now be raised with out worry of foul tentacled flying beasts, and we need to return so that we can ensure that ours do as well.

While AAremeth speaks to Graypelt, Trevor grabs the everburning torch from Harn and moves toward the hole in the wall. I can't just leave without knowing what's there.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian / 2

With Trevor taking his torch, Harn grips his axe in two hands as the two Hallower's head for the dark hole. However, as they head that way, Harn says, "Let's make this quick, 'cause Aaremeth has a point. Don't want to get too caught up in exploring and forget about why we were sent here."

Lueck stands with Aaremeth waiting for Greypelt's response, though he keeps glancing over his shoulder at those investigating the dark hole.

Very well Elf one of you come with me to collect your fungus the others will stay here with my pack. Who will come? Graypelt walks up looking in and seeing the leathery creatures on the ground.

Updated map and desription of what is to the south coming for Trevor.I am wore out and will have it posted tomorrow.

Male Elven Alchemist 1

AAremeth smiles a cockily. I will go along. He would recognize the mush rooms afterall, and if the wolves want to try anything tricky well then there were always tricks he had up his sleeves.

The Exchange

Male Human Summoner 2

Nikolae incants a familiar sounding spell, Loricatus arcanum and shimmering golden armor settles over Aaremeth.

Mage Armor, +4 AC for the next 2 hours.

He whispers to the alchemist as he does, "The wolf wishes to separate us, expect treachery."

Male Elven Alchemist 1

AAremeth whispers back, Then he shall be sorely disapointed soon enough. The elf moves forward with all confidence.

where are the mushrooms exactly?

Trevor's opened door

Trevor you open the door. You see a set of double doors shattered in the eastern wall. The room itself in a state of disrepair. This was once a library, but now only an utter mess. A section of the western wall a pile of rubble. A pool of stagnate water dominates the SW corner of the room. Thick mold covers the piles of debris like a funky green snow.

AAremeth follows?
Graypelt walks down the corridor looking to see if the elf is following.

They are in our lair near an old pile of bars. Come the sooner you have them the sooner you Twolegs will leave our territory. Graypelt waves his head in a beckoning motion and continues on through a door.

Trevor moves back near the entrance where the wolves are. He's suspicious and wants to be near in case AAremeth calls for help.

Male Elven Alchemist 1

aaremeth follows greypelt along, carrying him self forward just as before. ah, I had the same thing in mind, we will be away soon as we receive the fungus. I hope this might be the beginging of an understanding among my settlement and yours. Perhaps on occasion you could come to us with such issues, and perhaps if ever we needed a favor in return, we could call upon your mighty pack.

The Exchange

Male Human Summoner 2

Nikolae and Vermiis edge out into the open room, warily eying the other wolves, and trying to get a peek at which way Greypelt is leading (luring?) Aaremeth.

Nikolae to C10, Vermiis to C9.

Map

AAremeth follows Graypelt into a small study that looks like it is now a den. Gnawed bones litter the floor and tufts of fur are scattered here and there. The stench of wet fur hangs in the air. Graypelt turns heading deeper into another connected room. AAremeth cautiously follows the large worg. Gaping holes let faint moonlight to filter into the room. You see a stack of old rusted rods in the corner several large mushrooms grow on and around the pile of bars. A set of stone stairs descends into darkness along the west wall.

There are your mushrooms Elf. Now I hope you and yours will be on your way leaving me and mine to ours.Graypelt awaits AAremeth taking the mushrooms watching intently.

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian / 2

Spotting the growth of mold, Harn's face twists in disgust as it moves from the mold the other door. Thinking to how the hallway was built he whispers to Trevor. "If the wolves decide to double cross us, we can use tha door ta get on tha other side of them I think."

Male Elven Alchemist 1

AAremeth takes two of the larger mushrooms and speaks to Greypelt. So be it, my offer stands about trading service, be wary or the local water, if any of yours fall sick because of it seek me out in the hallow.I honestly appreciate this.Aaremeth bows slightly and walks away still calmly.

He comes back to the group with a smile on his face. to the hallow boys!

Take them all Elf. They grow back quick enough. Graypelt snarls .There are six more mushrooms available.

Male Elven Alchemist 1

"ah, I did not want to be greedy if the need arose for you to use them. My thanks." AAremeth nods bends down and snatches up the rest and begins to walk away.

Lueck resists the urge to charge in after Aaremeth. Eyes scanning back and forth. The only thing holding him back from an impulsive act is uncertainy as to which way to go.

Graypelt follows AAremeth back into the corridor where the tension of the wolf pack eases visibly seeing the return of the mighty worg.

Male Elven Alchemist 1

AAremeth grins to the rest of the group. Greypelt here was true to his word and as much as he loves our company, we have been politely asked to leave as our business is concluded. the elf bows slightly to the big wolf and starts head away.

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian / 2

Hearing Aaremeth's return, Harn simply shrugs as he puts his axe away and turns from the mold infested room. He heads back out to meet up with the others. Now that the group had all three ingredients that they would need, he was ready to head back and see how Falcon's Hallow was holding up.
