Well I went to my first adventure day last month and the local folks are pretty cool this weekend I am going to the other chapter in the state's group and npcing for them. They seem like good people too. I think it is going to be a good time. I will let you know how it goes when I get back Sunday :).

The trail parallels the road for a couple hours before it cuts west. It is time to decide to follow the trail or stay on the road? Split up or stick together?

Ok guys proceed how you would like. I will post once I know how you guys are proceeding.

Thanks for understanding everyone. I got back from out of state late last night. We will get things going again. This weekend I will be out of town again, but it shouldn't be too different from usual I will make sure to throw a post up before I leave Friday and will be able to post on Sunday when I get back. Going to LARP for my first time and I think it is going to be a lot of fun.

Hey gang I found out this morning my grandpa passed away. The next week will be spotty for me. Just to let you know, but hang in there with me.

Sorry Julius I meant to tell you last night and forgot.
You find no unusual tracks around camp.

Ûzorgráng:
The carts would not fit down the trail that seemed to lead from the watch post. It did head in a general norther direction paralleling the road somewhat. Weather or not it stays that course you cannot say, but your plan seems like it may work. two on the trail with the rest along the road. You have heard of witches that have powerful sleep magic.

Julius:
Yep the spell craft is good enough to make that comment. Fey come to mind as to what might have sleep abilities. But a powerful caster would likely be able to pull off that as well.

Ûzorgráng clangs off down the hill with the grace of a pissed off rhino. You still hear him as he begins to rise the next hill, yet the distance has dulled the sharpness of the clanking.

Ûzorgráng:
When you make it to the spot you are sure is the area you saw the shine there were obviously people here recently there are several pairs of bootprints here and there a few logs behind some bushes to sit on with an easy view of the hilltop camp. It seems your watchers are no where to be seen however.

After a tense ten or twenty minutes it seems no attack is eminent. It may be an uneasy night but it eventually passes. Now you once again have the light of day at your disposal.

Hope you feel better Ashar. I understand roommate has pneumonia and i am fighting it off atm.

Ûzorgráng :
Your keen nightvison catches moonlight dancing off of a bit of steel on the opposite hillside.

Shyr and Ashar:
You both feel fairly certain magic was the cause of you both falling asleep on your watch now that you have had a few minutes to come to your senses.

Julius you make small talk with Shyr while trying to stay alert you notice the momentary stop of Ûzorgráng's pacing along the perimeter before he resumes his trudging. The crunch of bone heralds his return to patrolling accompanied by the ever more familiar orcish profanity that accompanies the elusive last bits of marrow.

Shyr and Ashar:
You remember you were both sitting by the fire and it was beginning to die down like you had discussed, and you almost seemed entranced by the flames. You noticed your comrade's head swaying to the flickering light you thought it odd, but instead of saying something like you intended you are being awoken by Ûzorgráng.

As you scan around the camp you don't notice anything out of place. Julius you get no auras in the radius of your awareness.Shyr and Ashar groggily come to with a little jostling.

Ûzorgráng you awaken to embers in the fire pit you see Shyr and Ashar slumped by the fire sleeping. Your heart races as you listen and look at your surroundings. Everything seems as it was when you went to bed a bit cooler, but moonlight still dances through the clouds and the woods alive with the night. Insects clicking rustling of a squirrel or some other small forest denizen.

Yes Julius I assume it is part of your day to day activity. Yes if you do not commune your spells are not refreshed. No worries Shyr.

Just to let you guys know I generally houserule that as long as casters get a reasonable amount of rest over the course of the rest period they regain fress spells in the morning when they pray, study, meditate, commune, etc.... That is the important part. If you all prefer more by the book we can go that way instead.

The cool breeze off the mountains brings a chill to the spring air the trees rustle and sway. Moonlight dances in and out of the clouds. Slowly after camp dinner and your discussion those not on watch drift off to bed leaving Ashar and Shyr to keep an eye on things. About midway through your so far quiet watch other than the friendly quiet banter to sporadically break up the monotony your fire begins to die down it is still burning but it's glow no longer reaches the edge of the camp.

I am ok with that. sounds like a good choice :)

You all go about the business of preparing for the night. The sun descends into twilight as it dips into the horizon as you all begin to make camp. How do you all chose to set up your camp?

Guys sorry it has been one fun but exhausting day. I see Thorgrund still hasn't posted, so we are going to press on with him in the background coming back to camp deep in thought and a bit edgy. Thorgrund if life is just being rough on ya just jump in when you can. I will have a good post up tomorrow gang.

That is great
I'm a little jealous.

Awesome

Ûzorgráng :
you get distracted by a rollie pollie trying to turn itself over ;)

would like to give our busy ranger a chance to post, no pressure Thorgrund.

The ministry of Silly walks.

lol

Thorgrund:
Thorgrund you notice a path that does lead off into thicker woods. It seems unlikely that travelers would head off that way and as you scout it you find a vantage point about halfway up the next hill hidden in the underbrush with a good view of the campsite.

No worries Thorgrund real life happens to us all. :)

You both see that this is a well used campsite. There is a worn trail for leading animals down to the stream. The hill is lightly wooded casting dappled shadows along it's length. Birdsong can be heard along with the water flowing by at the base of the hill.

Sorry a bit hectic and I like to give everyone a chance to post. Will try to get in at least one post a day though.

You find a nice spot to stop for lunch and water the animals. Afterwards you continue north the rest of the day as the sun begins to set you crest a hill that seems to have a regularly used campsite. A few logs around a fire pit to sit, a supply of wood, and the same stream you watered the animals at lunch is just down the side of the hill. You have about an hour of fading light left if you wish to push on. You may be able to find a farm or cottage where you might ask for hospitality.

Very nice I appreciate it :) I know that kinda stuff takes time.

The morning passes pleasantly as you pass the outlying farms and homesteads, but by late morning those become less frequent. By midday you feel you have once again reached open countryside. The mountains rise to your east; rolling lightly wooded hills surround you as you travel north.

After much discourse and assisting each other you all have your disguises in place and are ready to go. You have a bit of trouble with the mules pulling the carts initially, but Julius manages to calm the stubborn beasts and lead his donkey at the head oh the carts to get the train moving north. The road hooks around the outer stockade and west along the riverbank for about a mile putting distance between the bridge and falls. Crossing the bridge brings you back north a pleasant breeze greets you as puffy clouds float across the sky.

While the cultural distinction between men and women's garb seems a bit arbitrary in these lands Ashar does an excellent job of putting Keith's plan into motion in the evenings at the Thirsty Church. By the time you are ready to head out the next morning you all are confident that rumors of exotic spices and trade goods from the east have begun to spread. The baron has provided you with two carts with barrels, baskets, and chests while they are mostly empty he has added some bolts of fabric, a few sacks of grain, a pole with metal tankards tied to it Clangs nicely does it not?the baron seems pleased. You know the attacks have been taking place on the North road between here and Keep Vigilance the outpost to the north about a week away.

Anyone near by who understands dwarven may look at the post that is in dwarven.

The way Ûzorgráng suggested is fine. if you prefer to roll your hp then you may do so here in the discussion thread.

between all the great posts and enthusiastic training I want everyone to lvl up to 2. great job gang.

Any who ask for an advance may take up to 50gp against their future earnings. The baron likes the ambush idea and offers up two carts with mules for the effort.

This is great guys post your conversations and training routine if you want to go somewhere in town or gear up let me know. The baron had such a good time at dinner that he asks if any need an advance on their pay to see you through to catch or kill these criminals. Take a couple days playing this practice out, and lets plan on trying to head out of town say mid-week if nothing crazy happens in game.

Julius:
that sounds good man I have been enjoying your Protector Colson mentor. Very fun I am of course picturing "Agents of Shield" inquisitor Colson. Hope that is what you were thinking, but even if not it has really lent itself to me seeing Protector Colson. :)

Julius you are sure he was speaking directly to Keith, but it also crosses your mind no one else asked for land or title. Keith you got the same impression.

Baron Lumont seems to be in a good mood as he nibbles on this or that often only taking a bite or two of each thing before tossing the remainder on a growing platter of half eaten food.

He engages in small talk with you all, focusing mostly on Ashar and Keith, but if anyone else speaks with him he will politely listen and converse.

Thumbs up man I like it.

Hey guys in scenes like these I like to give everybody a chance to interact or describe what there character is doing while a scene plays out (great job guys I like everybody's posts)and if you want to post more introspection or talk to each other in the background that is cool. It allows those who can or just love to post the ability to post multiple times a day and those who may have something come up or have some reason they just can't post for a day and it feel like two because they have to post late the next evening or maybe they don't get to post till the next day. So if folks generally post there reaction to an interaction or whatnot feel free to do these flavorful character development posts you guys are really starting to come alive :) just lets try not to push plot forward till everyone has had ample time to respond. We all know real life stuff can keep you busy sometimes. That being said if you are ready for plot to move and haven't posted and you notice there is only one or two who haven't please pop over here so I know you are ready to go. I also understand those moments where you just are laying low. So far I feel everyone has been good about at least giving the rest of us a heads up. Hope everyone is having a good time.

No worries Ashar. Sorry you had a rough weekend.

I will throw a post up when I get home from work give Ashar a little more time to jump in.

Keith opens the door on the setting sun illuminating the man if the fading light as he strides out the door company in tow. You range down the street confidently toward the keep easily seen up the road at rivers edge. You see at the gate four men. Two fellows stand astride the portcullis halberds in hand they both perk up as you approach. The other two sit at a small table next to the gate; one obviously the Sargent plays cards with a herald perhaps or some sort of liveried servant.

looking back at my post I can now see where you got the misconception from and it is totally my fault. I meant counting coppers like when someone talks about counting pennies or being overly concerned with every dime spent. Hope that helps I can be bad about that sort of thing.

Oh I was including the silvers in the incidentals. Like you said you have fourteen gold splashing a little coin around is no biggie for ya.
Now a month or so of being a man of means with no new income may find you in sudden dire straits as you reach for coin you may not have, but these things happen. besides can you imagine a month going by without any new coin crossing your palm?

I am not counting coppers myself small expenditures I leave to you guys to decide unless you get robbed or something. Ûzorgráng rping his near destitute state is great if Keith has enough money he thinks nothing of spending a couple gold a day on incidentals no worries. Significant purchases we will keep track of, but up to you if you want to track the minor stuff.

Everyone has their own pace of course. I am sure everyone would prefer to post as often as possible. I would like to give everyone a shot to interact with a scene, or have input in major decisions. So while I don't want to move to a new scene to quickly I have no problem with those players who can post as they like in that scene. So far I like what I am seeing any questions or comments are always welcome.

No worries Shyr post when you can weather has kept me home from work today normally I post more in the evenings or maybe in the morning before I head out.

Sorry Julius it is late summer. the afternoon begins to evaporate as evening approaches this inn has put you all in a bit of better spirits.

If anyone has ideas or themes they would like to explore in game please feel free to share them here. While Ashar's golden cow popped into reality with his mention of it. I do prefer to have a bit more structure shall we say, but like the cow sometimes ideas come to be more truthful than expected obviously.

Ashar:
in the future perhaps a spoilered note when you are attempting to tell a story of your own creation may be helpful :)
