Rhianna Sanbury |

Rhianna's eyes flicker open, and she rises unsteadily to her feet. She looks pale and her eyes are hooded, and as she attempts to gather her bearings, she unconsciously holds Jobe tightly to her chest. For his part, the large raven seems equally determined to stay right next to his mistress, and neither one speaks much for some time.
What finally draws her out, however, is Roylenna examining the magical items, in particular the flying broom. Her curiosity gets the better of her, and she begins moving in that direction, apparently having a focus for the first time since Greta finished healing her. She steps up next to the halfling, setting Jobe absently on her shoulder, and leans down to study the broom alongside Royl.
Detect magic, then Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31.

Artival Brisboir |

Artival saw Lyria struggled to bury the newcomer to the group, and walked over, attempting to assist her in any way possible. I never really talked to him," the sorceror said to the cleric. "He was surely brave, though."

Ka'kara Furyheart |

Ka'kara hefts the body easily and follows Lyria to where she points to for a good burial place. Surprisingly the barbarianess smiles, "He had a true warriors heart. This was a glorious death. The spirits will welcome him and celebrate his life." Looking over toward Mahaffy, "You do too."

Mahaffy |

Mahaffy smiles
"Could not let my favorite human fighting alone now especially as she is not trained to ".
He seems more affected by Roylenna's reaction than by Kay's death and pats her hand
"Ka'kara is right , you know ! He saved us all . Not a bad death . "

BT , what kind of town is Seahill ?

Black Tom |

You spend the better part of the day giving Kai a proper burial. Greta tries to sound unperturbed and comments that there's one potion saved for her, but there is a hollow ring to her voice and she's a just a little bit gloomy for the rest of the day.
The rest of the journey to Seahill is uneventful. Seahill isn't so much a town as a waystation, but there are several places where you can get quite a good ale, and inns of varying quality.
Greta bids you goodbye and, true to her promise she rewards each of you with one of her potions of Cure Moderate Wounds.
If you're looking to trade in magic the temple of Torag would be the spot to hit.

Black Tom |

With heavy hearts you go to the temple of Torag, which is a small squat stone building that doubles as a magic item emporium. The temple is tended by a smiling gnome by name of Jamber Lin. As often with gnomes it is practically impossible to guess his age, and he's wearing rustic clothes and boots, with a leather apron.
He offers to buy the broom for the normal price (8.500 gp) but since he doesn't have anywhere near that much cash, he offers to craft magic items for you up to that sum. He's got the Craft Magic Arms and Armor and Craft Wondrous Item feats. If you want some expendables like potions and scrolls, he could fork out the cash for that.
You can buy expensive mundane items like Full Plates or Repeating Crossbows here too. There is a dwarf with a face like a plateful of hash brown in here right now shopping.

Roylenna Brenoien |

Once she realizes how much money the broom is worth, Roylenna puts up no fight, but she does ask if she can fly on it just once...
At the temple, she asks the gnome as much as anyone in the party, "What sort of things would you suggest? Do you have a specialty or something that adventurers often request?"
By the way, did we decide who was going to carry the scroll from teh goblin? I'm assuming that's a keeper. I'm fine with Rhianna keeping it, especially if it enables her to add to her repertoire of spells -- not sure how that works with the new rules.

Black Tom |

The old gnome smiles at Roylenna. "You I like, young lady. Most people only ask for trivial things, like Handy Haversacks or Cloaks of Resistance. Nothing wrong with that, I guess. But for you I could fancy crafting a pair of goggles to enhance your vision. I'll bet you'd like to be the first in your party to spot things. But those are expensive and I guess that there are more of you that will want to share."

Mahaffy |

I can't believe you are serious ! Selling one of the most versatile item in the world just to buy some crummy +1 items !
A broom of flying is for the whole party not one character ! Chasms , rivers , ledges will not anymore be a problem to us . And in the wilderness , being able to fly above the melee is the reason most mages have a fly spell memorized !
In case I was not clear enough , I'm definitely against selling this item ! "

Rhianna Sanbury |

I already have two of the three spells in my book, but I'd be happy to add web to my book as well. I can also scribe some scrolls for Royl if she'd like, assuming we have a day or two, to save some cash. (Kinda planning on doing that for myself, but I should be able to do up to 4 scrolls a day...)

Artival Brisboir |

The sorceror looked at the ancient dwarf and nodded a greeting. "Don't joke about hangover with this crew, old timer. We have stories to rival just about anyone's on that particular topic. Pleasure to meet you, name's Artival."

Bombur Stonefist |

"Bah! What do I care what your name is? *Sniff. Sniff* You smell like a giant! Where is the beast?!"

Ka'kara Furyheart |

"Bah! What do I care what your name is? *Sniff. Sniff* You smell like a giant! Where is the beast?!"
Giving Artival a sideways glance, "The more nights out, the better your tolerance for ale. Don't worry, I'll help you with that some more this evening." Recalling the stench from the unwashed and flea-bitten giant's hide and unaware that she is pretty much staring at the newcomers face, "HA! Well can't say that you smell great either."

Black Tom |

BT's gonna be out for a few days...means we're going to the pub against, doesn't it? Maybe there can be some more drinking competitions, some darts, or even some arm wrestling this time.
I must admit that I had a lot of fun the last time you went to the pub, but I'd appreciate if you could also take care of your business. Maybe you'll need to use the discussion thread for that.
The Hobbled Unicorn has excellent ale and a decent assortment of spirits at affordable prices.

Ka'kara Furyheart |

You have to ask? And what does BT being out have to do with whether we go or not?! Sheesh ;)

Ka'kara Furyheart |

Rolling her eyes. Would someone either take it or sell it already, so we can get to the important stuff :)

Bombur Stonefist |

Mahaffy does not seem overjoyed to meet a fellow dwarf. In fact, he does observe the newcomer even more cautiously than he did the last newcomers and then speaks a little coldly :
'If you do not care enough to even make a pretense of civility, why should we even respond to you? "
"I wasn't talking to you. You are almost as ugly as I am."

Ka'kara Furyheart |

"Not so, woman! I am clearly uglier!"
She leans back slightly on her heel, holds her chin in her hand, and seems to scrutinize the dwarves closely. Throwing her arms in the air in mock frustration, "I don't know! It's too close to call. We're going to need some second opinions. Come on everyone, it's off to The Hobbled Unicorn to settle this."

Tika |

Bombur Stonefist wrote:"I wasn't talking to you. You are almost as ugly as I am."With a smirk, "You know...it is kinda hard to tell the difference." Giving Roylenna and Tika a glance with obvious impatience, "Are you two going to sell that thing or not?"
"Were selling were selling yeessh" Tika responds

Black Tom |

Jamber is happy to enchant Ka'kara's sword and presents Mahaffy with a beautiful magic axe (+1) with silver inlays. He also tailors two Cloaks of Resistance (+1) for the little ones I guess, but he's sorry that he is unable to produce a Ring of Protection. He can't make one and he hasn't been able to procure one either. Maybe he could interest you in an Amulet of Natural Armor instead?
As I understand it you will have spent about 6350 gp on the aforementioned items. What will you do with the rest?

Black Tom |

As you are merrily chatting away and admiring your new toys (not least Ka'kara's jade brooch) you are approached by a strange-looking character. He seems to be at least part orcish, but his neck and the back of his hands, as well as his nostrils are covered in reddish reptilian scales. He's wearing battered leather armor and carries a scimitar.
"I heard you are going west", he states matter-of-factly. "You will need a guide. Those are dangerous mountains. Dragons and worse. I'm willing to take you." He pauses. "I'm Nyak, by the way. Who are you?"

"I'm Ka'kara, but tell me what makes you a good choice for a guide and what do you want in return?"
I'm broke so I hope it's not much :)

Black Tom |

Nyak looks at you calmly and says: "I can take care of myself and I know the terrain. I hope you can take care of yourselves too. There is safety in numbers and I have things that need to go to Thunderhold. We load them on donkeys. Donkeys are good with dragons. When dragon comes you run and dragon eats donkey. Takes stuff too, so carry your valuables on you."
"Jamber can vouch for me. I don't pay you, you don't pay me. I just want company." He grins, showing a set of impressive tusks and behind them a disturbingly long row of sharp teeth.

Ka'kara Furyheart |

The barbarianess shrugs, "Sounds good to me."
Previously.....any of the ladies in our group who joined Ka'kara in drinking at The Hobbled Unicorn end up with a tribal tattoo somewhere on their bodies (you determine where and if it was someplace agreeable to you or not - crazy stuff happens when drunk) if they were agreeable to such (she didn't force anyone and it's done out of respect). It represents their shared victories against the giant and undead and joining in sisterhood.

Mahaffy |

"The more the merrier ! Just one thing , it has become the tradition in this group to let Roylenna speak with anyone and anything we encounter . If you come with us , you will have to aggree to this . Otherwise , Roylenna will be sad and Ka'Kara does not like when someone makes Roylenna cry "

Artival Brisboir |

"Be careful," Artival warns the newcomer dwarf, "Ka'kara might drink you under the table then hide your axe. She'll give it back, of course, if you ask nicely."
Artival had already realized the dwarf did not have much of a sense of humor. The sorceror decided he would help him with that.
