Hmmm. Let's untangle this!

Either:
When he "sneaks away,"
an oafish spy, his henchmen
make for perfect sneaks.

Or:
Platypus ninjas
at the beaver convention
make for perfect sneaks.

Now I'm Confused. I think I will ignore this thread for a while.

I can explain the situation as I understand it, Charles. TheChosyn entered a haiku ending with A: "Platypus Ninjas?"

Both Cuchulain and I wrote linking haiku. Mine ended in B: "their envenomed spurs" and Cuchulain's ended with C: "when he sneaks away." So there was a fork in the chain. Oops! Since Cuchulain posted first, I went back and edited my post with a second haiku, starting with B and ending with C. So there was only one open line, C.

You gave us two great haiku. The first looped C back around to A, and the second gave us another fork, from B to D: "make for perfect sneaks". So there were at least two open lines, D, maybe A, maybe C.

So I did two things: linked C to D, and A to D. That means there's one line; maybe I'm doing it wrong, but that's how I think.
