No big deal, just had to relocate a mispost. Return to your regular festivities. ::Blows paper trumpet, passes out pointy hats::

Taps toe and waits patiently for cake to be cut.

There's cake, right?

Strawberry cake!

This was a triumph

I’m making a note here: huge success
It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction
Aperture Science
We do what we must because we can
For the good of all of us
Except the ones who are dead
But there’s no sense crying over every mistake
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake
And the science gets done and you make a neat gun
For the people who are still alive

I’m not even angry
I’m being so sincere right now
Even though you broke my heart and killed me
And tore me to pieces
And threw every piece into a fire
As they burned it hurt because
I was so happy for you
Now these points of data make a beautiful line
And we’re out of beta, we’re releasing on time
So I’m glad I got burned, think of all the things we learned
For the people who are still alive

Go ahead and leave me
I think I’d prefer to stay inside
Maybe you’ll find someone else to help you
Maybe Black Mesa
That was a joke, ha ha, fat chance
Anyway this cake is great
It’s so delicious and moist
Look at me still talking when there’s science to do
When I look out there it makes me glad I’m not you
I’ve experiments to run, there is research to be done
On the people who are still alive

And believe me I am still alive
I’m doing science and I’m still alive
I feel fantastic and I’m still alive
And while you’re dying I’ll be still alive
And when you’re dead I will be still alive
Still alive
Still alive

He is reading the Moldvay version of D&D when he would rather be reading Holmes.

Nah, I had Moldvay. All my nostalgia is directed towards him.

Interesting... indeed.

So, Mattdroz is singing for his cake, and the badger is struggling to see his posts.

Well, if we're going with avatar, I could be a fey bloodline sorcerer or a plant bloodline sorcerer. I could be the party druid. I could multi-class. ;P

Stupid temporal flux!

I'm off to Tennessee. I hope to post a little during the weekend, but I'll definitely be back Sunday early evening.

Be safe, Taig.

I just figured out you guys postponed hitting 600 for my birthday. AWW!!!

I think I'll go to Borders...and maybe B&N.

I started with Mentzer. I occasionally break it out and create a few characters as well.

Me too!! Though hopefully my article isn't 'crappy' :( I don't recall yours being crappy either. I gotta go back and re-read.

Mine certainly needs updating to the final version of the rules.

Over 30,000, nice.

And of course, the night we have to close early to get to a wedding, a customer comes in and starts asking for thing 2 minutes before close time. And she's still here 15 minutes later. Arg!

Can't afford to toss her.

Maybe it would be fun

To get a new opinion
Get a little work done
And forget

Maybe it would be cool
If I rocked it old school
Try to break a gold rule
And a sweat

Better than the first time
Better than the worst time
If I could just reverse time
I'd be set

Can anybody hear me?
If I shed the irony
Would anybody cheer me?
If I acted less like me
Would I be in the clear?

She got a new apartment
It's out on the escarpment
And in her glove compartment
Are my songs

She hasn't even heard them
Since she found out what the words meant
She decided she preferred them
All wrong

Kind of like the last time
With a bunch of really fast rhymes
If we're living in the past I'm
Soon gone

[CHORUS]

We recognize the present
Is half as pleasant
As our nostalgia for

The past'll be presented
Recast and reinvented
Until it's how we meant it

You wiped out on your ten speed
And either he will succeed
Or just suck

Scarab Sages

shuffles through the thread while thinking about what to do for dinner

I kind of think it be cool to do the monster mash. Who suggested that before?

Things were kind of slow while I was out. Did I mention, ORCUS?

Scarab Sages

I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise

He did the mash
He did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
He did the mash
It caught on in a flash
He did the mash
He did the monster mash

From my laboratory in the castle east
To the master bedroom where the vampires feast
The ghouls all came from their humble abodes
To get a jolt from my electrodes

They did the mash
They did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
They did the mash
It caught on in a flash
They did the mash
They did the monster mash

The zombies were having fun
The party had just begun
The guests included Wolf Man
Dracula and his son

The scene was rockin', all were digging the sounds
Igor on chains, backed by his baying hounds
The coffin-bangers were about to arrive
With their vocal group, "The Crypt-Kicker Five"

They played the mash
They played the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
They played the mash
It caught on in a flash
They played the mash
They played the monster mash

Out from his coffin, Drac's voice did ring
Seems he was troubled by just one thing
He opened the lid and shook his fist
And said, "Whatever happened to my Transylvania twist?"

It's now the mash
It's now the monster mash
The monster mash
And it's a graveyard smash
It's now the mash
It's caught on in a flash
It's now the mash
It's now the monster mash

Now everything's cool, Drac's a part of the band
And my monster mash is the hit of the land
For you, the living, this mash was meant too
When you get to my door, tell them only sent you

Then you can mash
Then you can monster mash
The monster mash
And do my graveyard smash
Then you can mash
You'll catch on in a flash
Then you can mash
Then you can monster mash

As I sit here watching Cars, my mind conjures a talk show where Lightning McQueen confesses that as a compact car his daddy would make him rub his gear stick. I am so twisted. Either that or I really am getting sick of watching this movie.

LOL for a minute I thought this was an actual quote. But then again, I've never seen the movie. However, don't get me started on Dumbo or any early Barney *shudder* The things we do fer kids ...

Ooo, good question. I'm starting to think Oracle for myself, as a non-ordained theologian. Maybe a half-elf.
And here I pegged you for party druid :P
Are we basing the iconic character on ourselves or our avatar?
I thunk it was our avatar.

So I would be A Chaotic Neutral Drow Pimp? I'm good with that. ;)

Remember hydration and electrolytes (Gatorade works well) and rest.

Freeing your home of Tiamat and sending it to Ohio for a worthy cause heals everything.

I gave a Tiamat away. That's so funny.

I found a tiamat at the LGS, and we all agreed it was useless and blew it up with firecrackers.

I must be tired. I originally read this as "I am out of climax" and I was very sad for you.

Don't ask. I really don't know why I read it that way.

I am sorry to hear about the migraine. Migraines are nasty in their persistence. I totally empathize and I hope it finally gets the message and goes away soon.

GHOSTING POSTING

Thanks for the anti-migraine vibes and well wishes guys. I took a nap while the boys went and picked up some pizza for dinner, and after some sleep, some food, and about a half a bottle of mineral water I'm feeling a bit better. Still not a hundred percent. I think I'll just sack out for the rest of the night, maybe watch some tv if it doesn't hurt my eyes too much.

The Exchange

hmm no new post?

I know it is early in my part of the world but I better head to bed. We have a huge day of unpacking tomorrow and I just had some great ideas for a new campaign to celebrate my 25th year gaming. I find it easier to process some of those thoughts in bed.

I'm home! Woohoo!

Now...an evening with the fam before a full workday. Maybe I'll get Friday off.

In other news, my gaming group is pestering me to get back to the table. I've had my game on hiatus during this excessively busy period at work.

I'm really hoping I can get back behind the GM screen and continue our "Price of Immortality" mini-campaign soon.
