Aside from the above mentioned campaign setting, are there any plans to redo the classic first 3 modules as a Pathfinder Edition?

You know, I'd love to see a follow up to that trilogy set in the new setting. Would be interesting to see what plot brews after five years....

Psst...Ad-vanced Be-sti-ary...

@Pramas: Is there any sort of time range for getting this (PFRPG Freeport Companion) out? I may be starting a Freeport campaign around late spring time and I'd love to have it!

Oh, and I vote for Freeport Companion Revisited

Reverend Pramas is on the road this week preaching the good word, but further upthread, and on the Green Ronin messageboards, he seemed to be going with "Freeport Companion: Pathfinder RPG Edition". As far as a release date, the only thing I've heard so far was "before GenCon".

Awesome, thanks for the update Adam!

Freeport Companion — Pathfinder RPG Edition

This way, I don't have to hear anymore of that mantis' disgusting false modesty.

Just you wait; you'll be his next prey...

I promise to destroy as many trees as possible in my upcoming contributions.

So much for carbon neutral.

So...
The Pirate's Guide to Freeport is the rules free setting regardless of the system you're using ( Pathfinder, 4th edition, True 20, etc) and the Freeport Companion:Pathfinder Edition will add stats and rules crunch. Yes?

As for playing the classic 3 modules, I plan on hunting down one of the 5th year Anniversary editions and simply converting it from 3.5 to Pathfinder, but I'm still curious if there's any plans in the pipeline for a Pathfinder edition of the classic 3 modules as well.

Is it too early to speculate on this?
Considering that this revision hasn't been done for any other system since 3.5, I'm guessing there may be a logical reason for this that I'm unaware of.

We've allowed folks to use "Pathfinder RPG Edition" after the title, so "Guide to Freeport—Pathfinder RPG Edition" would be just fine with us.

This is the best solution, because "pathfinder rpg" will be there for the search engine bots to index.

Pramas wrote:
The nice thing about using Revisited is that it's something we can use again if we update any of other d20 era products. We could do Book of Fiends Revisited and Advanced Bestiary Revisited, for example, and that would have a consistent meaning without us creating a new brand and logo. I had forgotten that Paizo did a couple of books with the word in the title, but that's not a big concern. Revisit is common enough.

The bad thing about using the word "Revisited" is that (to non-Pathfinder fans) it could look like you are starting out on a Freeport reboot.

And if they see several "Revisited" products are Pathfinder RPG products, they might worry that you are dropping support for other systems.

Hopefully, Vic's suggestion means that you will now be thinking of publishing:

  • Book of Fiends - Pathfinder RPG Edition and
  • Advanced Bestiary - Pathfinder RPG Edition

I think I actually prefer titles like this (to a title that incorporates the system name into the title). These names really make it look like these things are published in several editions.

I also think that names like this will group multiple setting versions of the same product together, when someone uses a search tool on a website like Amazon.

Did you know that the pdf version of the hardcover is available for download at RPGNow.com? That might be a solution for you.

Wow, completely missed this post. Much appreciated !

ADVANCED BESTIARY: PATHFINDER RPG EDITION

PLEASE!!!!

So is this going to become a reality? If so, how soon will it be available?

From Green Ronin's Freeport page:

Quote:
Second, we confirmed on Twitter that we are working on a Freeport Companion for Paizo's Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. We haven't set a firm release for this but it should be out before GenCon. This will revise and update the d20 Freeport Companion to Pathfinder and it will be released in both PDF and print formats. Stay tuned for more news about this project.

This is the original announcement post from back on Feb 6th, but hopefully it is still on this schedule.

According to Daigle, it's all been turned in. Just waiting on Pramas to see what he's going to do with it.

Update: I heard an interview with Pramas on a podcast and he mentioned that this will be out in July.

The sooner the better!

Anyone heard anything new? July would be before Gencon as is mentioned on the Freeport site.

San Diego Comic-Con release?? July 24th-27th?

Isn't Green Ronin one of those companies that makes the pdf available to buy before the print book is out? If so, then the pdf could be out in July and the print version at GenCon.

Call it the Pathfinder Edition! Or link it to Riddleport somehow :)

I'm not giving up on that Advanced Bestiary, Mr. Pramas.

Freeport Chronicles?

Sorry if I confused you with the thread necromancy, Spiral Ninja.

The Freeport Companion: Pathfinder RPG Edition has already been released. I'm just continuing my campaign of Advanced Bestiary demanding. Good name idea, though. Not sure if it'd be cool with Paizo, however.

If you do such a thing, you just sold two books

Add a Revised Book of the Righteous, and they've sold me three.

Looks at the previous dates on the thread...

And I think I've even seen that book in our local brick and mortar store.

Nothing to see here. Really. Whistles innocently.

But have you bought it? ;)
