There are a few spell combinations I use often, and I was wondering what other combinations or just creative uses for spells work well for you. Here's a few to get us started...
-Web, then summon swarm (spiders) or
-Black tentacles, then summon swarm (bats) (the tentacles can't grapple the bats)
-Invisibility, reduce item, and permanency on a giant caltrop. Drop it in a square, and let enemies come to you to impale themselves on it.
-Reduce item and permanency on an iron wall with arrow slits = instant cover for your mages or archers
-don't forget that earth elementals can burrow through stone, which means they can burrow through walls (also useful if you can't pick a door's lock), or they can burrow through a foundation to topple most buildings :). Not bad for a 2nd level spell (summon monster 2)

Sorry, no relation to the handheld device. I was referring to my tendency to play wizards. And no, I don't have a prostate problem :), for some reason I thought the play on words was funny at the time.
EDIT: I was confusing reduce person and shrink item, so replace "reduce item" with "shrink item" for the first post.

for myself so far i'm finding flaming sphere/pyrotechnics to be a good combo, you get to do some damage using your move actions while still casting anything else you need, and when you no longer have use for the sphere anymore it then becomes your fire focus for the pyrotechnics.
you can even more the sphere right before you cast to get the fire's starting point exactly where you want it.

During a recent adventure the Wizard in my party had ran out of Dart's to use Acid Arrow, so he substituted a javelin as the material component, since it's a piercing projectile of a similar shape our DM rolled with it.
Our Wizard and my Cleric combined Flaming Sphere and Spiritual Ally to DPS an enemy at the start of each of our turns leaving us free to cast more powerful spells.
We also combine Summon Water with Shocking Grasp to drench swarms of rats and electrocute all of them at once.

Invisibility + summon swarm (wrecks obscene amounts of face vs any enemy that did not pack his AOE/splash weapons.)
Create water + Shocking grasp (Not necessarily legal, but fun)
Create water + ray of frost/chill touch (GM discretion what is needed to freeze the waters, but once you know, you can create sheets of ice, which come with its own truckload of horror-inducing complexities. Plate-wearers will hate you)
Create pit + grease ("It puts the lotion in the basket")
Create pit + hydraulic push (For when the enemy reflex save disagrees with your initial proposition)
Expedious retreat + nauseating trail (bonus points if you cry like Zoidberg, while you stink up the battlefield at breakneck speed)
Reverse Gravity + any pit spell (Going up.... aaaaaaand going down)
-Nearyn
