Hard to Swallow

Rules Questions

I had it pointed out to me that Freedom of Movement prevents you being swallowed whole, as you have to be successfully grappled first before you can be swallowed. Now while technically correct, it occurs to me that if the bite hits, you might just be easier to swallow as you are skewered on the teeth.

How do these interact? Is the RAW correct and you effectively cannot be swallowed? And would you be an instant constipation cure if you were?

The RAW wins. If prereq of being grappled can't be completed then you can't be swallowed.

Scarab Sages

And the best/worst thing is, you can't voluntarily be swallowed. You need to disable the Freedom of Movement first. I bring this up because I have a thief who loves to be swallowed so he can sneak attack from inside (the stomach of a creature has no Dex bonus, and is therefore "flatfooted").

Problematic if you have a creature whose main attack is swallowing whole, I thought. Would it be more logical for Freedom of Movement to add a large bonus to resisting grapple (+20 say) so that massive creatures that could envelope you completely with one bite have a chance of getting the swallow?
