Dragon with familiar / companion?

Say I am a dragon... What feats and/or classes would I need to take to have a human for my familiar or animal companion? I'm specifically not looking for Leadership here. I'm well aware that this bends the rules into knots, but I'm looking for a memorable NPC and I'm asking for help with a reasonable explanation of the build.

If it makes a difference, the human is a 1st level sorcerer to start, but I want to have the flexibility to let him advance, too.

I think dragons are powerful enough creatures that they should attract followers and minions without requiring it as a class feature. Perhaps the guy worships the dragon as an aspect of Dahak, or has the draconic bloodline and feels some sense of kinship with the dragon. How the dragon gains and organizes its followers will also depend on what color it is, so consider that in the mix as well. A blue or green dragon, for example, is going to have a much more structured retinue than would a black or a white.

There are no existing rules to allow a companion or familiar to take class levels. This is all homebrew. But honestly if you are looking for an interesting npc, just make him a follower of the dragon, there is no requirement for 'rules' here. Outside of the leadership feat there is exactly 0 in terms of 'build' options.

Although...something kind of interesting is the dragon rider class that other worlds put out. Some of the fluff behind it is a dragon becomes a dragonriders dragon in order to gain power, allowing some wiggle room in terms of RP. The dragon is however significantly powered down (for balance purposes). But you may want to start there if you really want to mechanically connect a dragon to a human arcane type. Just reverse the roles and maybe trade a little power back to the dragon.
