If we get her some cool armor (a.k.a. mithral breatplate) then I'd say she will be hit a LOT less.
I haven't even thought about it yet, but I'm open to suggestions -- what's a good feat for my ranged/ray-oriented sorceress? Weapon Focus (Ray)? Something new and shiny from APG?

Ooh, good thought... I'll have to check to see which of my spells allow SR. I'm assuming most or all of them.
Yeah, thats a good suggestion. There are quite a few halfling or small person only feats from the new players guide that look entertaining also. The bouncing spell metamagic feat is also interesting.
Taunt looks fun (use Bluff skill rather than Intimidate to demoralize opponent). Expanded Arcana (additional known spell or spells) could be useful when I have some higher-level options.
I think I'm back to the core Empower Spell or Spell Penetration or maybe Combat Casting, but we've been pretty good at keeping my girl out of melee.

Yeah, go for it. At first glance I thought that it should use up a Lay on Hands but it doesn't say so anywhere. It looks powerful at low levels, but until it gets errata'ed we'll run it as written.

Hey, sister - I finally got back to this to check my arithmetic. My total is off, but it's actually low. I'm showing a total of 21005 for what I have listed so far. (In-game, that would be up through the assasin vines fight.)
So I think we are 2000 shy of 6th level.
Aaaaand..... when next we rest, we should be there! I show 23005, just enough (after the trio of howlers)!
So now I'm wondering if another level of sorcerer is the way to go (third level spells!) or if multiclassing/working toward a PrC might be in order. Levels in oracle leading to mystic theurge might be fun...
I'm noticing that sixth level as a sorcerer is hard to get excited about -- third level spells are a big deal, but she can only get one...
Oracle of the heavens might be a natural fit for a celestial sorcerer, if such would be allowed. I haven't looked to see which book it's from, maybe I should...

BT, bless his evil, evil heart, suckered me back into a PbP again with him, so I've got a character stranded on Smuggler's Shiv at the moment in another thread.
More generally, I've been around, but mostly haunting the discussion section of the board, because I've been telling myself I had too much going on to commit to another PbP after things overwhelmed me last year so much that I disappeared. (Well, once my laptop got replaced, anyway, and even being online was an option again.) But I've been checking in on you guys, and a few other PbP threads as well (that was an hellacious fight against all those warforged over in Aubrey's game!), and, well... (sigh)
I've even got the itch to run a PbP again, dangit. Stupid awesome game. :P

I'm doing great at delivering guilt trips today - it's cool. I would make room for one of your games -- I have a game that I've debated dropping out of for a while because I'm not feeling it, but I have yet to quit a game and I'm not ready to set that precedent.

Awfully sorry about this battle, but action economy necessitates for a BBEG to take out the biggest threats. Not fun in a PBP I'm afraid, and I'll try to think of better ways in the future. Hopefully you will take her down soon so everybody gets to play again.

Meh, I see nothing wrong with what you've done. It's the way the dice fell -- both of them had a better than average chance to avoid the effects of their respective spells.
It was a fair use, just sucks to be dominated, but its all a part of the game. PBP is a bit more frustrating since its days of inactivity until the fight ends, and in reading the description of Dominate Person, if the group doesn't kill her and she runs off I'm truly screwed since the duration is 1DAY/level and Gregori would simply sleep till he starved.
I'm an idiot. I just realized she is still carrying around a potion of Protection from Evil. Would that have worked to get Gregori free?
Roylenna is now sixth level. Swapping out Burning Hands for Summon Monster I so I can take advantage of my bloodline arcana (DR/evil for summoned critters) once in a while. Selecting Prestidigitation as my new cantrip and Haste as my 3rd-level spell.
Note: I also realized I was cheating her of spells/day, so that's been corrected. As always, review and suggestions are welcome.

There were eight dretch in the pit and you can claim the bounty for those, as well as the howlers and bodak. Actually the Bodak alone is worth a Diplomacy check to augment the entire reward a bit, when I think about it.
The succubus was actually only carrying Elinda's stuff but there is also an interesting artifact, which I will describe as soon as I gather the energy to write the epilogue to the adventure.
Congratulations by the way: you finished the Grey Citadel. I will take the weekend off I think (apart from some possible rp banter) to see where the campaign should be going.
Incidentally I gather that some of you have played in Rappan Athuk, with mixed experiences. Would it be better to skip it in favor of some other Necro stuff? Not that it would be any less deadly for that matter, in fact I suspect even more so. Just asking.
