Round 3, Today or Monday?

Advanced Player's Guide Playtest General Discussion

I understand why the summoner and witch were delayed, but hopefully the alchemist and inqusitor are getting put up today, at around 12 maybe?

Anyone know if it is delayed 'til monday?

It's not "delayed" until Monday... it's (and always HAS been) scheduled for Monday.

The weekend is not a good time for us to launch new playtests, since Jason wants to be able to be there at the start to monitor mesasgeboard threads and all that, and for lots of (hopefully obvious) reasons, doing that over a weekend is not optimal.

Technically wouldn't releasing it just before the weekend give people time to get past their kneejerk reactions and start to see the deeper meaning behind the classes by monday?

Not saying I'm necessariliy right or that it's ideal, just throwing out a theory.

Damn. Oh well, makes sense. I eagerly await monday.

My confusion stems from the fact that they were all scheduled for friday on the blog.

Technically, releasing it on a Friday would force Jason and others to spend a large portion of the weekend working. Because letting those "kneejerk" reactions run rampant for 2 days with little or no Paizo presence in the playtest would do a LOT of damage to the public perception of how the playtest is run.

Furthermore, today is not a good day to unleash that same particular storm of mayhem since we've got a lot of other things to do today (among them get some products shipped to the printer). This is often the case with Friday, actually—it's usually one of the busier days of the week at Paizo.

The blog actually has them scheduled to start on the 14th. By my calendar, that's still next Monday. That's another good reason to start the playtest on Monday, of course... because that's the day we announced it would start.

If we'd started the playtest today, folks would only have clamored for it to start yesterday.

I suppose it's a good sign that there's so much anticipation building for these classes, of course! :)

I think there was miscommunication, it says the 12th on the blog.

As you said! Anticipation is good, and for the last two of these classes, that is very high!

Looking forward to monday's release.

James is right...

If we released them today, i would have to spend most of the weekend on the boards, instead of on a train through the snowy mountains to a town dedicated to christmas and beer...

Do not get in the way of that... :-)

The playtest documents will go up Monday, hopefully before noon local time (that is PST for those keeping track).

Which blog are you referring to? The one I was looking at (posted on November 13th) indicates that the final round of playtests starts on December 14th...

(Just trying to track down where an error might be if it actually exists.)

Oh... my bad...

I forgot that American's reversed the order of numbers in dates...

Wow... That was dumb...

It makes perfect sense for it to be monday, I was just confused by my above-noted mistake.

Enjoy the christmas and beer.

What time have the other play tests been released? I need to know how late I'm going to be to work on monday :)

So what is the name of the 14th month?

I suspect we'll have the playtest up around noon, pacific time. Not a guarantee.

Hell no!

Good beer? I was pleasantly surprised by some of the microbrewery beers I found on my one trip to the US (Colorado).

That does sound really nice. I hope you're enjoying the weekend, Jason.

The lack of response is due to us all reading it. It's been up for almost 10 minutes.

Half-Orc Iconic, finally. Female Inquisitor, and a male Elf Alchemist.

Can you provide a link?

Great. Just like with Round 2, I can't find it...
