Burning magic and spell level

Round 1: Cavalier and Oracle

Burning magic:
Whenever a creature fails a
saving throw and takes fire damage from one of your
spells, it catches on fire. This fire deals 1 point of fire
damage per spell level at the beginning of the burning
creature’s turn. The fire lasts for 1d4 rounds.

Question: if a metamagic feat raises the spell level, it does not increase the dc or the damage dealt in case of caster level increase but does it increase the damage dealt by burning magic since it is a more "powerful" spell?

I'd say no, just like a metamagiced spell won't penetrate a globe of invulnerability unless the base spell level would allow it to.

The Exchange

Heighten Spell (Metamagic)
You can cast spells as if they were a higher level.

Benefit: A heightened spell has a higher spell level than normal (up to a maximum of 9th level). Unlike other metamagic feats, Heighten Spell actually increases the effective level of the spell that it modifies. All effects dependent on spell level (such as saving throw DCs and ability to penetrate a lesser globe of invulnerability) are calculated according to the heightened level. The heightened spell is as difficult to prepare and cast as a spell of its effective level.

Bingo. Only Heighten Magic affects the actual spell level. A Quickened Scorching Ray is still only level 2.

That would be correct.
