eh was worth a shot class would make a good fighter/mage if they had just gave em 1 or 2 combat spells, I'll go ranger then. Goblnoids a good favored enemy for this?

Szombulis, I think that choosing a slurk is a little too 'out there' for my tastes, and it would require a bit more work on my part to figure out mechanically, as seeker points out above.I do agree, however, that in order to properly play a cavalier you will need a mount. In order to expand your options for mounts which would be appropriate to take into a dungeon crawl, I would be willing to gloss over the fact that certain animals are assumed size 'small' at first level. For example, if you wanted to give your guy a boar or a dog, it would be fine with me. We'll still use all of the stats of a small version, but assume that it's still large enough for your cavalier to ride. The animal's stats would improve at 4th level as normal. As pointed out, wolf or big cat would be good options, too. How does that sound?
Okay...*sniff* I'll look over the options for a small character mount and do the character stat stuff tonight & post it tomorrow!

Speaking from pseudo-experience, as long as it isn't Large, it should be able to get around the dungeon fine. After all, the only thing I'm sure I remember is ten-foot-wide hallways.

Yeah, like Davi mentioned, there is plenty of room for the party to manuever around. I think any of the choices you mentioned would be equally useful. I'd go with whichever fits the character best, thematically.

you said 2 traits right? are they just to be picked from the trait download. I am guessing they are but thought I would check
Yes, that would be the best source. If there is a trait from a Companion or Player's Guide product that you think looks good, I'd consider those sources as well.

Sorry, I've been swamped with RL today. I have my character completed, I just need to get him up and virtual instead of on a physical sheet. I should have that done in the morning.
No worries, Tarlane. I actually have a really busy day ahead of me as well, so I don't think I'll be able to start looking over sheets until tomorrow, anyway.

also could we get some info on the gods?
Sure thing! Really, there are only three that Monte has detailed for the campaign which are appropriate for goodly adventurers to revere. If none of these appeal, you can just use a Golarion deity.
Belestros: A god of strength, stone, and all things tangible. Belestros' followers are practical and usually live off of some natural resource, such as farmers, herders, or miners. Belestros is Lawful Neutral. His domains are Law, Strength, and Earth. His favored weapon is the mace or cudgel.
Glarias, the Moon Goddess: A minor goddess worshipped in the lands surrounding the Fallen Duchy and revered there in its heyday. Glarias presides over the moon, so while she is not an evil goddess, she uses shadow (and even darkness) as well as light as both tools and raiment. Glarias is Chaotic Good. Her domains are Good, Knowledge, and Luck. Her favored weapon is a mace.
Vune: A goddess of light, purity, and charity. Most, but not all of Vune's clerics are female. Those that are not belong to a sub-sect called the Brothers of Charity and focus on aiding the poor, the sick, and orphans in the name of their goddess. The rest of the clergy is interested in spreading Vune's teachings of helping others before helping oneself. Vune's worship is widespread and extremely popular. Her clerics are often treated as a special, highly respected social class. Vune is Lawful Good. Her domains are Good, Healing, and Sun. Her favored weapon is a mace.

All, since we're done 'connecting' and now on to discussing characters, let's migrate over to the newly created Discussion Thread. Thanks!

Curses...the cavalier playtest will have to go on without me... I have three clinical intakes and psychological assessments to do...BEFORE Thanksgiving. Well, mental health care is busy, if not economically rewarding.
Please go on without me, guys...I'll be watching!
Best, and thanks!
Dave
Agh, I'm really sorry to hear that, Szombulis/Dave.
Thanks for being up front about everything, I really appreciate that. Perhaps we'll be able to game together somewhere down the line, then. Best of luck to you.
So...Celestial Half-Porc? You're up, if you still want in.
