Casting from a scroll

Rules Questions

Dark Archive

Hello all,

It has been many years since I've played, so please forgive this very basic question :)

Does casting a spell from a scroll take up one of a wizard's or sorcerer's spell slots for that day?

Thanks,
MoFiddy

Welcome back.

No, it doesn't. Scrolls are disposable magic items that provide the power of the spell themselves rather than using the spell-caster's resources (except the gold to buy/make them in the first place).
