No hippogriff in the bestiary?

Given the importance of the hippogriff in Korvosa and Curse of the Crimson Throne, it seems like an odd omission. Is an updated hippogriff in the works or are they doomed to 3.5 obscurity?

It is not in the first Bestiary.

It will appear in a future product. Here's one of the confirmations.

There is further discussion on just about every thread with the word 'Bestiary' in it for more details. This thread is a good start to one of the discussions.

Thanks Adam. Any suggestions on what to do with a ranger who wants to take Sable Company Marine as a feat at 5th level? I could use the existing hippogriff, but as others have pointed out in CotCT threads, it's basically just a horse with wings in the 3.5. Would it be more appropriate to give it stats closer to the Horse animal companion stats, with a similar progression when they get their boost?

Today, I bought another hippogriff mini set in protest to Jacobs' callous culling of the creature from the first codified collection!

If I were you, I'd just do a quick conversion.

Spoiler:

Blend the 3.5 Spot and Listen into a decent Perception, give it a dose of Fly with the leftover points and maybe a +8 CMB and a CMD of 21. Feats can stay the same, as well as pretty much the rest of the 3.5 statblock.

In my defense, I did a search for "hippogriff" and "bestiary" and didn't find any of those threads. By some strange coincidence, anyone else who asked about hippogriffs neglected to use the word with bestiary in the same post. Either that, or the search engine is...quirky. Next time I will do my due diligence and read ALL the threads just to be safe. We all have to do our part to reduce forum clutter before another "Forums are too long!" thread springs up. :P
