Tiffany wore the same costume last year, but there wouldn't even be a contest if Tiffany hadn't cosplayed last year.
Kelly's costume at first blush is more involved, but on closer inspection we see its a lot of layered cloth and a home-made mask. Probably a converted ren faire outfit. But the mask is very cool.
I say we give 'em both the prize. And hope for a lot more cosplayers next year.
Thanks for all the great compliments it makes the effort worthwhile. I will pass them on to my wonderful wife who made the robes up in two days just before Gencon. I cant wait to see the costumes for next gencon and paizocon.
I also voted for the Pactmaster, but it would be great if both won. I'll even donate some money to the cause. Just gimme a PayPal account to send it to. :)
I think both would be awesome, but I voted for Tiffany the starknife is really cool! We also do have her to thank for the contest getting started. Good Luck to you both!
I really think they both deserve the $50, Tiffany just for inspiring it, even if she didn't dress up this at all she should get something. And Kelly's is darn cool.
I think Kelly's costume wins this year, but Tiffany is the defacto winner for year zero. They should both win the prize. Maybe even name the award for it inspiration...although the "Tiffany's" doesn't really roll off the tongue
I'm on board saying that Tiffany won last year ,but she didn't get her prize until now. Kelly is the winner this year, not only for being the only contestant in costume this year, but also for doing a fantastic job on her Pactmaster costume.
Giving them both a prize is a wonderful idea. Both contestants did an awesome job!
That said, the blog piece announcing the poll is horribly biased. Displaying two new pictures of one contestant and one old picture of the other contestant? The sentence about Tiffany gives her permission to participate while the sentence about Kelly gives him two thumbs up ("wowed us all with his incredible rendition").
Been debating for awhile, I think I have to go with Tiffany. Both are great, but even though the mask is a big part of Kelly's costume, I can identify better whith someone with a face I can see.

Hooray for Tiffany and Kelly!
Spoiler:
And I'd just like to point out that I lobbied first for both contestants to win the prize!
I love it when a viral marketing campaign succeeds!
I just wanted to thank everyone for saying that Kelly and I should both win the contest. It was really thoughtful. And Kelly, your costume is pretty awesome.
I did have a new costume planned for this year, so when I found out about the contest I was thrilled. Unfortunately, things fell through at the last minute, and it wasn’t finished in time. So, I am hoping to have two new costumes next year!

Nah, it was my endorsement. Paizo has an intern who follows me around on the boards to see if I come up with great PR moves like Sales of the Seven or this ;-P
(On a slightly more serious note: I had the idea before I saw your post, but you do get credit for saying it first. Great minds think alike and all that.

Bah. It was the only logical choice. You both deserve it. Both costumes are awesome.

Hey Awesome!! Congratulations!
I've already sent Josh an email claiming to be you though so I can collect the store credit.

Congratulations MetalMaiden, thanks for inspiring me to be the Pactmaster with your great costume from last year. I can't wait to see what you come up with next year.
Thanks everyone for your support, I hope others join in for Paizocon & Gencon 2010.
