I removed an offensive post.

Silver Crusade

Hey, Ross. I imagine that monitoring the boards and checking flags for immature and offensive material is probably a thankless job, so here's a "thank you" for keeping these boards the friendly place we know and love. I'm sure there are probably things you much prefer doing over deleting posts and general babysitting, but I for one am glad there is somebody to do it.

(I don't even know what the offensive post was, I just figured you would probably appreciate a "thank you".)

Drat missed it by seven minutes! Someone FB me with the juicy details ..

And Ross, thanks for all you do, and that sweet dice code you wrote. You cut my PbP prep time down hours a week not having to play jumprope with IC .. :)

Ooh! I forgot about that. I love the dice roller.

I also am not sure whether the naughty post was the last one, in which case we didn't see it, or was some other one upthread that I didn't take much notice of, and I'm not really concerned anyway.

Meh. Trying to add a bit of excitment on a dreary day. There usually aren't too many redacted posts on this thread. Of course the new bone of contention has even strayed down here ...

Tarowin is so hardcore that he has more trouble hitting things than a naked halfling warrior (you know, the NPC class) with no feats wielding a broken club.

So currently Tarowin is less of a melee combatant than a munchkin. Not a min/maxed optimized character, but a midget in mundane clothes wielding a lollypop.

Look, drive by trolling.

Spotted it, but was gonna ignore it until you had a chance to comment. But here goes my musical reply -

Trollin', trollin', trollin' in the forums.

Or

I shot the troll and the dice won. I shot the troll and the dice won.

Or

Grandma got run over by some troll fear.

He's pretty cunning, considering his condition.

Perhaps his name should be Überzombie?

Just back from having family pictures taken and then getting firewood. What did I miss?

David Fryer wrote:

The ninja zombie has been floating around preparing to entertain his new in-laws for Thanksgiving. He ate his former in-laws in a grotesque display of Midnight Munchies, only to have his former zombie wife get angry enough to divorce him. Rather than pay alimony he ate her too. He dug up his new wife and her parents recently from a graveyard near you.

Dark Archive

That sounds about right.

Just got back from picking up a crapload of comics before things get disagreeable at the comic book store(and indeed in manhattan in general) on Friday and Saturday. Nothing but good reads this time 'round. Liking Blackest Night, although I'm not a fan of the idea of DC Zombies. This DID get me reading Booster Gold and Doom Patrol again though, so I guess it's not all that bad. Realm of Kings/War of Kings/Guardians of the Galaxy has me reading Marvel comics again. Star Wars: Legacy was also good, and although I'm EXTREMELY disheartened to find out that A-G will be ending soon, I'm glad to know that the tankobon they put out will still be going strong, and I'm sure another independent company will be starting up an adult anthology sometime soon. Also, I'm also finished with the edit my wife demanded on the Monk entry I'm doing for my homebrew. Although I'm also extremely frustrated that the secondary site I use for writing purposes has gone wonky, I'm looking forward to publishing post and moving on to the paladins.

Need to make my turkey day calls and coordinate with my mother, my wife and a cab company to make the trip to my godmother's.

Missing Cali less and less every post...

Dark Archive

So I finally decided how I'm going to cook my turkey tomorrow. I am going to make a five spice honey dijon glaze to use like bbq sauce and cook it that way.

Sorry that there is some unhappiness about. It seems like it's in the water today. Wife had huge fight with her son, she's on the phone because in-laws are squabbling and can't make up, my daughter called me crying because of her boyfriend...geez, let's all be nice to each other.

On my side, I got my groovy Paizo shipment of goodness...man, those werewolves are big. They'll have to be werewolf lords. Great looking sculpts!

Sorry to hear that man. I think I'm going to be in for a few awkward moments tomorrow myself on that tip.

Glad you got your stuff, retail therapy always helps.

I'd say two cognacs before the car ride and you're good to go! ;)

Hey, Freehold, if it's not too nosy of me to ask, what were you writing last night?

Well, my profile does say I'm an Advanced Ju Ju Zombie, but Uberzombie does have a nice ring to it....

I didn't want to threadjack the thread, but I couldn't help but think to myself when I saw the title ... I think I may have seen that movie. Maybe I even filmed it.

Well, just got back from the store. Had to take the kidlet to buy new shoes since his old ones had come apart. Sigh. Three months. Shoes are supposed to last longer than that. :/

Dark Archive

New recipe guys.
Chicken Oporto
1/2 cup butter
1/2 lbs mushrooms, thinly sliced
1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
8 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/3 cup chicken broth or port wine

In a 12 inch skillet melt the butter over medium heat. Cook mushrooms for five minutes and remove to a small bowl and set aside. combine flour, salt, peeper, and nutmeg and use the mixture to coat the chicken. In the same skillet cook the chicken breasts over medium high heat until browned on both sides. stir in the cream, broth, and mushrooms, heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer for 15 minutes or until chicken is fork tender.

Since I have kids and don't drink, I used the chicken broth. Traditionally the recipe is made with port.

Hey, Freehold, if it's not too nosy of me to ask, what were you writing last night?

Its never nosy! I was just working on the aforementioned Monk entry for my campaign setting. It's coming along nicely and I should have it up as soon as I get through the rules I'm putting together for alternate fighting styles and the feats therein. After that, Paladins! I've made them especially wacky, and I'm sure I'll lose a few people with that, but...such is art!

Liberty's Edge

"Savage, tentacled, gash mouthed Tide campaign of Curaigh "

(lol) I thought it said "gish-mouthed."

I'll never forget the day a growth spurt caused me to hulk out of my favorite pair of slippers as a kid. I cried for days, I was so sad, lol.

Man readying up a Thanksgiving feast for tomorrow, but first, roast pork loin and parboiled potato wedges .. mmm taters ..

That's a good question.

What's everybody eating tonight? Me, I'm thinking light mexican(it's about the only food that we won't be shoving down our gullets tomorrow).

edit: Brats and tater tots for the page

Chicken Parmesan.

Dark Archive

Mexican takeout from my wife's favorite resturant, and Little Caeser'for the kids.

And just in time for Thanksgiving, my honey dijon sauce recipe.

Honey-Dijon Grilling Sauce
1/2 cup dijon mustard
1/2 cup honey
1 tablespoon balsamic vinigar
1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Combine in a bowl and baste on meat about 30 minutes before the food is finished cooking.

it can also be used as a marinade.

Dark Archive

This is enough to make Queen fans laugh, or cry, I'm not sure which.

Happy Holidays!

Aaaand, that's a first for the two threads. 40,000 posts and we've never had a post removed for being offensive. Several of us have tried very hard to accomplish that too. Amazing.

I found out about an actual full time position in my field that would allow me and the wife to stay in Dallas in our new home and start paying some things off...and I can actually apply for it...so that's what I'm doing tonight. Please cross your fingers or do whatever it is you do for me. (And I'm not promising that my subscriptions will up, but...)

Good luck Mairkurion. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. May this be a good job that you not only get but can keep.
