Hey there! A few people have been interested in a couple of other topics about my idea of combining Golarion with my long time love, Mystara. I decided to make this a central place to discuss it so as to not clutter those other topics.
First, I'm going to share my ideas, but also want to hear other people's ideas so I can make mine better.
The first thing is I am making Golarion a Hollow World. Inside Golarion is the realm of Mystara. Now while I love the maps from Mystara, I truly adore Christpher West's maps from Maps of Mystery and that nice big world he did in the last Dungeon (go to the site and click on the Lands of Mystery Map).
So I'm transporting the cultures of Mystara to the Lands of Mystery Map, specifically the western continent... the one with the "Inner Sea" and west of the "Twisting Deep."
So, not being able to stand having such awesome parallels and not using them, I have the Twisting Deep connecting directly to the Eye of Abendego. This is the "easy" way to cross.
Now, I have to rearrange my Mystara map a bit to fit the Lands of Mystery Map. I think the Mystara countries will be MUCH larger. I think I will put Alphatia on the continent to the East, the one with Doomfang Peaks.
Something else I am doing with the setting is changing the races a wee bit. The Alphatians, being from another planet and embracing the teaching of Air, will be an Air Elemental Human Variant and the original Glantrians, being from the same planet but embracing Fire, will be Fire Elemental Human Variant. This way, they are more alien, bodily embrace their philosophies, and just fit the idea better to me. I also plan to use the Environmental Racial Variants.
The only thing I have not decided is religion. I seriously love the Mystara religions and it ties so intimately to the setting. But it just seems odd to have two pantheons that have no contact at all. Not sure how to handle that. Suggestions welcomed.
Now, it gets interesting to me when the Elves and Dwarves enter the scene. The Dwarves could have tunneled up from Mystara through the crust to Golarion. And perhaps the Elves did not completely abandon the world of Golarion, but perhaps came from Mystara inside...
So all you Mystara lovers out there, give me some feedback and suggestions. Nothing is set in stone so would be happy to improve the concept.

I'd love to do some input into the [Linnorm Kingdomes of the] Northern Reaches - as a total norseophile [getting treatment for this lol] I've plenty of material that springs to mind...
I'm at work right now so will make it short and sweet but when I get the chance I'll run some ideas past you that I did on the Mystara/ Northern Reaches religions [particularly Loki] and some other stuff "Sons of Fenris" etc, etc... combining some elements with the Ulfen might be tricky but much of it won't be... Linnorm Kings, each one ruling one of these realms etc...
If your looking for help in developing that particular corner of the Known World/Golarion then count me in

Really odd idea: just as the Mystaran Hollow World was used to preserve aspects of Mystara, the hollow of Golarion was used to preserve Mystara itself. The reason the Immortals of Mystara and the Gods of Golarion don't have established interactions is this (Mystara getting added to the Inner World) happened very recently. And neither group knows who or how this was done....
Now, I have no idea what happened to Mystara to have it 'saved/backed-up' via Golarion.

:) Thanks!
Another option MIGHT be to have some the Mystara deities be the Golarion deities in alternative identities... maybe.
Still vexes me...
I've done just that. The Church of Traladara normally worships Halav, Petra, and ???, whom I've substituted Iomedae, Sarenrae, and ??? (Erastil, I think).
It's not a stretch (IMHO) for each of the Immortals to be known by a different name in different nations. I think somebody has converted most of the named NPCs to 3.5, which is then relatively easy to convert to PFRPG. I can't find the link right now, although I think it was on the WotC or ENWorld boards.

Just some quick thoughts:
One option is would be to have the Mystaran gods be completely separate - an invasion by "foreign" gods could be fun. Imagine if why Zon-Kuthon came back from the "mysterious beyond" so different is that he is actually Alphaks in disguise!
On another note, if Mystara is inside Golarian, then where is Rovagug imprisoned?
Inquiring minds want to know.

The Hollow World part of Mystara had an inner sun... guess where Rovagug is... or maybe what the inner sun is... >;)

mmmm I LIKE it!
perhaps, just perhaps Mystara was "backed-up" about 100 years ago, which coincided with Aroden's "death." This could be quite exciting!
Also explains the different map... Just like the cultures from Mystara went to a new map in the Hollow World...
