Curse of the Crimson Throne

ok, so just started a new CotCT campaign. I have recently been reading some of the great campaign reports, and thought hey why not share my groups story. We don't get to play often, or for great lengths of time. I am just ecstatic to get to game. We are playing every other week for about three and a half to four hours solid game time.I have three steady players, with one more who plans on playing the npc on weeks he does not have to work. the players:

Lord Garralt a neutral human conjurer He is a graduate of the Acadamae. He is the heir of a minor house in the city, his great uncle the only member of the family still alive. He lost his father when he was very young it was never really discussed what happened to him. His mother herself an instructor at the Acadamae was murdered by dear old Gadrean when he was around ten.His mother had always been his uncles favorite. Now he derides his nephew that is so much like himself. He threatens to leave it all to the church of Abadar even though he has no love for the greedy bishops of banking. Hopefully seeing justice brought to his mothers killer will ease some of the tension between the two.

Marr a chaotic good half elf fighter never knew what happened to his parents. His earliest memories were of the orphanage while not a paradise it wasn't all that bad, and he never knew a different life then one day he was plucked like a ripe apple from an abundant orchard by Gadrean. The next few years of his short life made the previous ones look like a distant dream. He never quite made the measure for Gadrean. Something about the boy always rubbed Lamm the wrong way, and in turn ended up being one of his favorite punching bags. One day when he was in a truly foul mood Marr made the mistake of tripping and spilling his gruel "little Marr had made his last mistake" that day Gadrean beat him to death and dumped him at least he thought he had.

to be continued.....

Varg lawful good half orc Rouge yet another child of the streets. he grew up on the rough and tumble docks of Korvosa. He learned to ply the skills needed to survive at a young age with his good friend Benvin a fellow urchin who was like a brother to him. He has a birthmark on his forehead that remarkably resembles the hammer of Torag, and has always felt draw to his shrine. The priests there always looked kindly on Varg, and done their best to keep him on a righteous path giving odd jobs and a place to stay when they can. One day Varg couldn't find Benvin. Nearly a month pasted before he saw him again in one of the city's many markets turns out Gadrean had recruited Benny, and now the boy was stuck. Over the next several months Varg continued to try to get his friend to break away from the gang. He thought he had almost convinced him one day when an old swooped out of the shadows boxing poor Benny about the head. That was the last day he ever saw Benny, and Varg swore one day he would make the old coot pay.

Kalib Nanoosh lawful neutral human priest/monk of Irori. Kalib spent his youth at a small hidden monastery to Irori in the Mindspin mountains when he returned to his mother a young man and initiate of Irori he learned of his younger brothers descent into shiver addiction ending in his demise. Kalib determined he would discover who was responsible for poisoning his little brothers body and spirit and bring them to justice. After many months of searching all roads lead to Gadrean.

Session 1 introductions:

Marr wakes in his shack in the North Point shingles. Much like any other morning He begins to pour over his kit shining and polishing. Its a hard life for an out of work hired sword. He spots a harrow card where no harrow card should be. Amazed and a little worried about his shacks security he looks it over to discover a rather personal message about a most despised individual. Needless to say within moments he is 3 lancet st bound. He arrives to find a small house that looks a little ramshackle, and decides to duck into a local pub across the street called The Golden Duck. That's right no golden geese in midland those is to expensive. after a generous tip to the barkeep he learns that a nice varisian woman lives there used to come in on a fairly regular basis, but he hasn't seen her in the last month or so "prolly still broke up over what appened to er lad. Murdered e wuz."
more to come.....

Hey Dorgar - glad you still get to go through this AP... Rags has shown up in the Play by post 2 or 3 times, giving the current PCs information that the children have overheard.

Session 1 continues

His Lordship is studying his spell book for the morning when a harrow card slips from the pages. He sees the message about Gadrean and seething with anger he bellows for Willum the butler. After a stern questioning (the pc is playing a great aristocratic Cheliaxian noble/ Acadamae graduate) he demands the slip gardener be sent to see what awaits at 3 lancet street. flipping the card over he studies the card (knowledge arcana check) and rolls a nat 20. I determine he really paid attention in that semester of local folk magic back at the Acadamae. He realizes the card has a certain ring of truth to it, and decides to head down to investigate himself. Stepping out to Willum instructing young Edwin on his task tells him to disregard the previous order and be about their daily business. Well why were they still dawdling? (ah the joys of being in the service of Cheliaxian nobles).
