Needed more Linkin Park.
Or at least "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor".
I'm sorry, YouTube brings certain expectations with it.
...
That is a damn big book. Huge liek Xbox. I know someone that intends to buy five of them at GenCon if he's able. Poor guy's going to throw his back out!
Digging the new art for the NPC classes! And it's nice to see the Prestige Class guys all colorized now. Didn't see the Pathfinder Chronicler in the mix, but I don't think Erik flipped that far anyway.
I can't even remember if there were spell templates in the spell section of the 3.x PHBs or not. Were there any?
Is that chart at 1:50 all poison? That's a lot of poisons!
Domains listed in the cleric section are very much appreciated too!
Know some folks are going to be poring over 1:36-1:37...
Hell, might as well start it, NEW ART SPOTTING:
2:16
2:21
2:26
3:06
3:12
3:28
I do like having a lot of the "murals" from the APs clean and uncovered too. :)

Chronicler was in there, but only briefly.
Yep, I see her now. I actually got that iconic mixed up with the Loremaster somehow.
And let me just say that it is downright surreal to see a real, in-motion Beta book in mint condition.
Just thought about this: Can we assume that any critters that show up in the PFRPG rule book will be in the Bestiary? Because I do believe I saw that froghemoth pic...

Re-watching it again, I do have to say one thing I'm not a fan of is blowing up the Races pics and putting them where their race stat is. Not because it's not a good idea but I really REALLY don't like most of those pictures (dwarf, half-elf and halfling aside).
Of course this was a complaint I had with the new art when it was previewed anyway. Still wouldn't dream of stopping me from buying it but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Good looking book although a lot of the art seemed to be re-used art from adventure paths and the like (of course that could just be from the way they chose whatever pages to flick to in the book) So I am curious how much of the book is new art (Including the coloured artwork of the Prestige Iconics?)

This does seem to be true, but at least they used many of their best illustrations. I was often puzzled by the illos TSR decided to use in their 2nd edition core books since they often didn't look like anything else they had going on at the time.

As long as there is enough new and awesome art in there, I'm content.

Love the look...
However, I hope the paper of this beast is thick enough to handle excessive page flipping (what's the paper weight?) and because i love paper to be thicker.
And what about the spine and papers? clued? stitched? I asked because a good many books of this size having their pages not stitched tend to fall apart..
On a side note: is the book available here in germany on 13th of august, because paizo products tend to have a delay of about 4 weeks here.
thanx for answering

I don't have an exact percentage or whatnot, but we did reuse some art in the book. Basically, we went through the book, thought about what art should be there, and if we already had a piece that we liked alot and it fit, it went into the book. If we didn't, we had a new piece created.
I have mentioned this a few times in various threads, but the main reason we did this was to keep the cost of the core rulebook down so we could keep it under $50. Originally, if we had new art throughout, we would have had to sell the book at $69.99! That was just too high to get any penetration with new customers (or old for that matter), so some art got reused to keep the cost down. Besides, it will be all new art for a lot of the people buying the book. And on top of that, we all really LIKE a lot of the artwork that we've already done. No sense in not showing off your best pieces!

That book looks incredible, I'm glad I pre ordered mine.
On the other hand I own both Ptolus and HERO 5th Edition so I'm not that stunned by the pure size of of PFRPG. Then again I usually dont carry around Ptolus with me to the gaming table and while HERO 5th is a thick book it's actually pretty light (there's also a video floating around the interweb somewhere showing that it can actually STOP a bullet...).
The PFRPG looks dense enough to be used as a fricking murder weapon though. Jeeez...

I'm glad to have basically the PHB and DMG in one tome, but my back groans at the thought of hauling this around to conventions, friends' houses, etc. along with all my other gaming books. I guess I'll just have to convince them all to get one!
That won't be too hard I think, just show it to them once :D

Tell me about it. I'm saying how I like to travel light because I ride a Harley. Gonna have to think about transporting this beast.

The paper is 90 gsm, which is the nearest metric equivalent to the 60-pound paper we use for our Adventure Path products.
The binding is smyth-sewn.
As for the release date, we'll do our best to ensure that your distributor's US exporter has copies well in advance of the release date, but we can't take responsibility for how quickly they'll go from there.

Your back? Pity my poor postal worker. He'll be delivering 4(four!) of these things to my doorstep (hopefully on 8/13).
