The group moves to the North-Eastern stairs and heads down to go to the library. On the ground level they find a hallway with a windows lining it, providing a breathtaking view of the mountains. Two orcs dressed in scale mail are, apparently, standing guard here. They give the group a brief look, but other than that ignore them. There are two doors on the left side of the passageway and another door at the far end.

"Ilyanes minariel selyn aeir."
Ilantes dares a closer look at the orcs outside what is apparently the library, but trying not to be obvious about her intentions. She looks to Ulm and Sergeant as they walk down the hall.
As she lets her gaze flicker over the armored orken, she tries to size up their fighting potential, or see if she can determine more about their purpose by the style of clothing they are wearing.

You pass down the hallway and through the second door.
This chamber holds a large collection of books. Leather chairs, several tables holding candles, and even a wheeled ladder to reach the higher shelves fill the room. A few braziers are scattered throughout the room, and a soft red rug covers the floor. A door leads to another chamber to the West.

The library seems pretty extensive, but you are not exactly sure how it is organized. Url, you find some historical text, but the deal mostly with the Chelish invasion/migration.
Juco, you don't notice anything too out of the ordinary about the orcs, besides the obvious fact that they are orc acting as guards. You do find some books dealing with the local flora and fauna.

Ilantes looks around the library with an attentive eye.
"Do you suppose the orcs were the creatures that the servants warned us of? I still do not see any reason for their presence here. It is a little unnerving."
She searches the library for tomes of magic or history, anything that might be related to Thassilonian magic or history.

While searching the books, you find some on the Riddleport arch and some of the structures in Maginimar.
| Ulm |
"Orcs are unusual but I do not believe their presence is actually illegal. We should proceed with caution though. Juco, if you could perform reconnaissance in the next room we shall stand ready to assist you."
Ulm moves to stand near, but not too close, to the other door.

"May I help you?" asks a voice from the door to the hallway. Turning you see a young woman standing there, looking questioning at you.
Thin to the point of being skeletal, this young woman has a small mouth, narrow nose, and large blue eyes. Her hair is stringy and brittle. Her clothes hang from her bones, emphasizing how horrid she truly is.

Ilantes turns toward the sound of the voice in the hallway, her eyes wide in surprise, but she does her best to recuperate.
"Oh hello. One of the servants informed us there was a library, and I was interested in knowing if you had any works on arcane lore, since I am a fastidious student of the arcane. The guards didn't seem to mind, so I hope we're not intruding."

"Oh we several books that discuss the arcane nature of things. But I'm sure they will seem trivial to a knowledgable and beautiful scholar as yourself." Her words have a bitter ring to them. "Still I can point them out to you if you are interested."
Turning to the dwarf, "Helmut's room is currently being used for ... other reasons. I am not sure where he will end up being settled," her voice lowers as if she is speaking only to herself, "perhaps he'll have to room with Kris or Erich, that would show them what it is like." Then as if becoming aware of the group again she goes on to say, "If I see Helmut, I will inform him that you are interested in meeting him. Is there something you wish to learn in the library as well? Metal working texts perhaps?"
