oooooo im at the top of the page!!!

1d6.hits(5)=1

hmmmmm...i think i see it...

Liberty's Edge

The drone is a small roto-drone that is about 50 feet above the roof of the warehouse. You can't make out too many details of it, but its small enough that it is unlikely to be a weapons drone, more likely to be used for surveillance or communications or the like.

MALE ORK

i see it. looks to be a small one for surveillance. now, lets watch it go bye bye

after 400 posts and roughly 3 months of time since the first posting, the first shot rings out!!!

ok, here i go....

range 50m/short = +0
smartlink = +2
smartgun system = +2
longarms 5 = +5
agi 5 = +5
take aim = +1

total = +15 dice

using ares alpha with airburst link. SS with grenade launcher, 1 minifrag. aiming at the underside of the drone.

15d6.hits(5)=6 6 hits

scatter
1d6=1 1

damage 12p(f)
mod damage 18p(f)

feel free to apply any mods i didnt see....

Just a question can we use the roller here?

Liberty's Edge

It is pretty amusing to think of you firing a grenade up. And yes, you can use the dice roller. Its a pretty new addition to the site, and seems to work pretty well.

With a low thump sound the grenade sails out from the launcher through the air, colliding against the drone in flight with a loud boom and a crunch. A bright flash of light bursts from the drone as its flaming wreckage streams down onto the roof of the warehouse below, accompanied by the tinkling of broken glass.

MALE ORK

theres a dice roller on this site? where?

ahh, i do love the fireworks on the pier at night...

oh, rick, feel free to fire on those gangers, please?

Liberty's Edge

They just added it maybe a week ago into the BBCode tags. The code is just {dice}1d20+2;1d6{/dice} or whatever dice you want to have rolled, only with [ instead of {

Male Human

I take aim and fire at the closest ganger

Agility: 3
Pistols: 5
Extreme Range: -3
Smartgun Link: +2
Smartgun System: +2
Take Aim: +1

Winston leaps out of the passenger door of the van, and using the van door for cover, he fires on the cybered ganger. His cybereyes are in lowlight mode and his vision mag zooms in on his target while his smartlink crosshairs find their mark. He unleashes a quick burst.

[ooc] I don't think I have any real penalties with my first burst because of my vision magnification, lowlight vision and recoil compensation]

burst 1 11d6.hits(5)=5

I assumed that we'd need to roll for initiative before doing much more than that.

MALE ORK

i think what may be a good idea is we roll for init, but instead of waiting for our turn to come up online, we post what we have our PC's do and let tarlane spin a fancy yarn about what happens with each init pass. itll make things go alot faster instead of having to wait on someone to post, especially if something happens and they arent able to post for a few days... just an idea

8d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 5, 4, 5, 2, 5) = 28 this is using the built in roller.

8d6.hits(5)=1

not sure which one works better for the shadowrun system

Initiative: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2) = 7 No hits. Guess I'm going last.

Liberty's Edge

What skullcrusha said is pretty much how I had planned to do things, I'll let you all state your actions as you are able to log on and then I'll put them together in order with a bit of fluff details about the results(such as the drone getting shot down. If anything changes in the round before you go but after you have said what you are doing, then I will let you modify your actions as needed to adapt to the new situation, but I would appreciate you giving as much in the way of contingency actions as possible so we can get the flow going more quickly. Things like 'I shoot at the ganger unless someone on the team gets hurt, if they do then I will move to them and use first aid instead' will give me a lot more to work with.

I hadn't called for initiative yet, because I made some surprise checks and you are taking the gangers by surprise. As long as your actions are sticking to them, you each can take an action before they were going to have a chance to act. That means Thomas and Spider still can act on the surprised gangers. Then we will go into initiative.

While invisible, Thomas attempts to stun the nearest ganger.

Casting Stunbolt, including -4 from sustaining two spells. Check to actually cast: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3) = 14 2 hits on that. Check to resist Drain: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 4) = 14 Failed that, 1 more Stun damage for me, bringing me to 2 total.

MALE ORK

good shot rogue 2!!!

Init8d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 6, 5, 6, 1, 3) = 36 5 successes total Init=13

Spider stays behind cover but drawls his weapon[simple action} Next he starts probing the camera's looking for a way in[complex action}

Hacking+exploit 12d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 5, 3, 5, 1, 3, 4, 5, 2, 3) = 45 5 successes

Male Human

Init: 11d6=34

11d6 → [5,3,5,1,3,2,2,5,4,1,3] = (34)

Three hits, Initiative: 14

MALE ORK

how the heck can you have 11d6 for init and only get 3 hits!?!?!!? thats just wrong!!!

But funny, like getting shot in the butt funny, not ha ha funny :)

Hey Tarlane, remember that naval campaign we were in? It's starting again, if you got the time.

Male Troll Street Samurai

Init 8d6.hits(5)=4

Initiative = 12

Winston will fire another burst at the cybered ganger if need be. His second burst will be at the ganger beside the cybered one. If the cybered one went down from his first burst than he'll use his round to take out the non cybered one.

Is someone dealing with that mage!? Winston shouts over the tatter of his SMG.

Liberty's Edge

Sorry for being so quiet recently guys, The woman at home took sick and so that meant I was trying to juggle work, a sick woman, and a 3 year old for a bit there and it made sitting down at the comp with the SR book at the same time pretty impossible. Let me sum up your surprise round of combat here though, and I'll put up our initiative order for the next round.

As the flaming wreckage plummets into the roof the gangers all look up surprised as the rest of the team opens fire. The shot from Rick rings out, striking one of the gangers squarely in chest though he doesn't seem too staggered. Either the gangs have a surprising amount of armor beneath their leathers or the ganger got very lucky with the hit.

The leader seems much less lucky though as the burst of bullets flies from Winston's smg and tear into him, bringing a cry from him and a spray of blood.

Thomas motions towards one of the gangers who lets out a groan of pain, grabbing at his head and shaking it as if that would banish the headache erupting within him.

Spider

Spoiler:

Spider focuses his attention on the cameras while keeping cover behind the van, finding a hole in the node's security and slipping inside. Jumping from one camera to the next shows the outside of the building, but also reveals something a bit odd. Either there are no camera's inside the building or its security is completely seperate from the outer defenses. Both of those would be a really odd option as either it is a huge weakness in their defenses or it would mean that a security spider could only monitor one set of cameras at a time.

From your point inside the system you can see(and attempt to hack) your way into the alarm systems. The front door also has a maglock which you can attempt to hack, though the backdoor looks to be a lock and key type since it doens't have any visable electronics.

The two gangers dive behind the cover of the corners of the buildings, pulling out machine pistols as they do and opening fire back at the group. On one side, one shoots at Winston, the other shoots at Rick.

Rick 6p damage to resist
Winston 5p damage to resist

Both of you have good enough armor that it converts just to stun damage.

Sorry that your shot didn't look like it did too much, Rick. I rolled 10 dice and got 8 hits. That was pretty ridiculous.

Current Initiative Order:

Ganger
Rick
Leader
Spider
Mage
Winston
Crusha
Thomas

Gangers have already acted. You can post in any order, if you can give me some contingencies in case things shift by the time your turn comes up it will help, otherwise if things change very much I will wait for you to change your action.

Liberty's Edge

Link to updated map.

Winston, if you are still having trouble getting into the map, could you try something odd for me? I saw someone else who seems to have the same issue, but said they could get in using the method below:

The 1st time I hit the map link, it takes me to the login screen for goggle-docs. 2nd, I hit the sign in button (I don't have an account, so it comes back with the same page). 3rd- hit the link again and it takes me to the map.

Just confirming, I did already turn myself and Winston invisible, right?

Liberty's Edge

Yes, I started the surprise round with shots being fired. Previously, the guards across the street were aware of you since you pulled up in a van, but the gangers weren't paying any attention to you.

Neonspider triggers his submic 'front doors maglocked, back has a key which we hitting" And then Looks for a way into he alarm system, probing for an opening

Hack+exploit 12d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 2, 5, 4, 4, 3, 4, 5, 4, 6) = 45 Well 4 hits anyhow

Male Human

The dice gods are not friendly to me, apparently...

Reisitance: 12d6.hits(5)=4

I take another shot at the ganger:

Same mods as above:

10d6.hits(5)=3

MALE ORK

was just re-reading my old postings, and i just discovered/reminded myself that instead of having the ares alpha with me, i have the armteck mgl, which is a semi-auto grenade launcher. its essentially the same thing as the grenade launcher on the alpha, just doesnt have the rifle on top.

i turn around and eye the guard shack. are the guards doing anything or just chilling? if they look shifty, ill fire a few rounds of frag grenades through the windows and have them make chunky salsa in the shack.
if they are behaving and cowering like dogs, i walk up to a door and put a HE grenade on the handle in the right spot using my engineering skill/demo skill, i pull the pin and holler in a ringing voice

FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!

case a) firing at guard shack
13d6.hits(5)=6 1st shot
dmg mod =18p(f), 1st shot
11d6.hits(5)=5second shot
dmg mod= 17p(f)

case b) blowing off the door
using demo(5)+spec (2)+log(4)= 11d6
11d6.hits(5)=5blowing the door off

Liberty's Edge

Which door were you talking about taking out, crusha? The front of the warehouse, or the guard shack?

MALE ORK

front of the warehouse.

MALE ORK

marco!!!

Liberty's Edge

Sorry, things have still been a bit hectic around here and it threw me off a bit, I was waiting for the last couple of you to post thinking they were coming up shortly. I hadn't realized they were bottom of the round. RL still hasn't settled down for me quite as much as I had though it was going to yet and I think its just got me off my game. Hopefully I'm not losing any of your attention with the slow downs.

Rick's shot rings out towards the ganger, hitting him very squarely and leaving one of his arms hanging dead at his side, its clear that the blow tears cleanly through his armor this time.

The gang's leader also ducks behind the edge of the building, drawing a shotgun from across his back and taking a shot towards him, though it looks like he is leaning against the building slightly from his injuries and it might be hampering his shot. He squints for a moment, trying to find just where the shot that hit him came from, and after a split second he levels his shotgun at Skullcrusha and as the blast goes off a spray of sharp shards of metal spray against Skullcrusha's chest.

Crusha, you will be rolling to resist vs 11p damage, however its flechette so you have +2 on your armor.

Spider

Spoiler:
You find a smooth way into the system. The IC on it looks fairly minimal. You can go ahead and make another check as part of this turn as well, since you did well with the last exploit roll so I already hinted at the way into the alarm. If you have any analysis programs, you can try and figure out what sort of ice you are up against. Otherwise, you can try for a straight on attack or try and either spoof your way past or stealth yourself.

The mage looks rather thrown off by it all, calling out a warning to the others that there is a hiding mage and so there may be hidden around too. He draws a pistol and dives past the ganger beside him, getting completely out of sight.

Same initiative as above. We are up to you, Winston. Also, can you all let me know who has extra initiative passes to make things keep going as smooth as possible.

Computer+analyze 7d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 6, 2, 5, 4) = 31 4 hits

Neonspider tries to ignore the gunfire and looks into the heart of the system

MALE ORK

how the heck is he shooting at me? im against the side of the warehouse planting a grenade against a doorframe. that should be taking me out of LOS against the gangers at the other end of the building...

armour 8
body 4
mod +2 (f)
14d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 2, 5, 1, 6, 6, 1, 4, 3, 6, 1, 4) = 46 4 hits to resist dmg

Liberty's Edge

He's firing at you from you initial posistioning where you lit up the drone in the surprise round. Your turn in the first round, where you were going to move up and demo the door hasn't come up yet. Its a bit confusing in a PbP when we all are posting together out of initiative order, its just hard to do otherwise without things taking even longer then they already do. When I do my posts I try and put everything in order for us and do a description of the previous actions, I haven't mentioned your character pulling his action yet since he hasn't gone.

MALE ORK

got ya. my bad. carry on...

Tarlane

Spoiler:

Hey I use a virtual table to in my pbp to make maps and thought I would point you toward it as like me your having to make do with what you have.
TTOP I use this it makes very nice grid maps , you can load any pick or floorplan into it use avatars from this massage board as icons,

Some maps made using it and preloaded maps

Savage tide manor
savage tide crowd fight..madness
savage tide earily use
endless war form ambush

Anyhow I thought you might want to check it out long as ya don't use a mac anyhow. Pygon from the boards wrote the programed and he often walks folks though it on the Paizo chatroom

Anyhow I thought I would point you toward it , can't tell ya how useful it has been to me.

Male Troll Street Samurai

Reaction opposed against attack 4d6.hits(5)=0

Damage Resistance -Body 7 +Lined Coat 6, -1 AP (I assume):
12d6.hits(5)=3

Winston has take 2P damage from the attack.

He groans from the gunfire, and lets loose another burst

Male Troll Street Samurai

Burst at the cybered ganger, assuming he's still firing or the second one if he isn't

9d6 (skill+att) +2 smartlink, -1 wound, -1 recoil= 9d6

9d6.hits(5)=4

5P+ 2DV for burst+4 hits = 11P total

AP -1.

He doesn't bother using a second burst this turn, since it will likely be a waste of ammo due to the recoil penalties and mods for switching targets.

Liberty's Edge

Spider

Spoiler:
You get a pretty good check of the alarm node. I appears to be being monitored by some sort of decker, it also has a functioning agent which has an analyze program of its own running. From what you can see it has a black hammer program on standby.

Winston's SMG kicks bullets directly into the leader's chest, tearing through his flesh and making his cry out in a bloody gasp. He collapses to the alley in a heap, his gun going off into the air as he shudders.

The guards across the pier look to have ducked down out of sight, so crusha hurries over to the van, rigging up the explosive to the front door of the warehouse, setting it up to try and blast the barrier from its hinges. The explosive will go off and the end of your next turn, so you have time to find cover.

We are up to thomas now, and then it will be a run through of anyone who has a second initiative pass.

Waiting on phases:)

Wait, we're up to next round already? Didn't realize, sorry.

Thomas stands there, waiting to see what happens.

In other words, Full Defense, since the gangers are going to either start fleeing this round or the mage is going to come around the corner and shoot at me.

MALE ORK

thinks thats all the phases

Liberty's Edge

Alright, then for the second set of passes, this is what the init order is going to look like.

Rick
Leader
Spider
Winston

I believe that Rick, Spider(since he's jacked in) and winston all get 3 passes while the leader gets 2, so after this pass the three of you will get to go again and the gangers won't.

Rick should be up.

Ugh I so forgot spider had passes while hacking..sigh

Spider cloaks his signal in shadowStealth And looks for a way in, threading though the lines of code looking for that crack that lets him slip in

Opposed stealth if needed 12d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 3, 4, 3, 6, 4, 6, 5, 5, 5) = 54 7 hits
Exploit a way in 14d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 1, 5, 5, 4, 6, 4, 5, 5) = 54 6 hits

Note: I have been forgetting my codeslinger:Hacking bonuses. That is why my pools are 2 higher now

Male Human

I try to finish the ganger I've been firing on:

Same mods as before (I assume).

10d6.hits(5)=6

Liberty's Edge

Rick's shot goes off and strikes the ganger in the gut. The ork drops down to one knee but seems to still be up somehow, though he's obviously only holding on by a thread.

The gang leader narrows his eyes slightly before raising up his weapon again, growling out. "There! Get this filth off our turf!" With a crack the sharp hunks of metal leave the barrel, flying to strike Winston.

Winston, you need to resist 8p damage with +2 on your armor since its Flecette. Also, you are up next Winston, then Spiders actions above go. The leader doesn't have another action in this pass, so if you three want to give me actions for your next pass I can post for those and then jump us into the next round for everyone.

MALE ORK

as we all look about, we suddenly see a strange icon apear over winston's body. it bears a strange three letter keynote... AFK

I think it maybe time to NPC him

MALE ORK

i concur.
