"Hey, there's no need to pulp everyone who chases after us. After all, people usually stop after getting shot a few times, whether they're alive or dead."

Lone Star Procedures, how likely are they to send a mage first? 4, 5, 5, 1, 4, 2, 3, for a total of 2 hits.

Liberty's Edge

Thomas, Winston called things pretty well in terms of Lone Star's likely response. If there is any sort of real noise, whether an explosion, a firefight involving Lone Star agents, or reports of magical activity, then a mage will likely astrally assess the threat in advance of the foot troops. That will determine the rest of the response, whether a couple squad cars for a more mundane threat, a high threat response team comprising mostly of drones, snipers, and bomb squad for explosive threats, or a Lone Squad mage led force for any real magical threats.

Astral perception isn't very likely for something as simple as a tripped alarm unless the company is chipping in extra to the star under the table.

I'm going to have all of you make a knowledge check for me, looks like Thomas is the only one that really applies(his knowledge on the local area). So it looks like the rolls I'll need are:

Crusha - 4 dice
Winston - 3 dice
Neon - 5 dice
Thomas - 8 dice
Rick - 3 dice

I still haven't heard from rick, so I rolled for him and didn't get any hits.

4, 3, 4, 3, 3, 5, 6, 5, for a total of 3 hits. So close to a critical success...

Liberty's Edge

Thomas

Spoiler:
Something that you are likely going to want to take into consideration to the above information about lone star responses is the fact that Neon pointed out the company seems to be being financed by Brackhaven(the governor). He seems to have kept quiet that fact which could work to your advantage, but if any of the lone star brass is aware of his sponsorship of the building then any alarms that are tripped here will likely bring down a response that is several steps stronger then that of a normal warehouse.

"Everyone, one word of warning. If the top brass knows who's financing this, they're not going to just send a couple cars. They're going to be sending good, old-fashioned SWAT teams. Since we're blowing a hole in the place anyway, well, let's just be sure get out of there as fast as we can.

MALE ORK

4d6. hits(5)=3 damn, i think that is crit success!!!

t is true thomas, people USUALLY stop chasing you once they get a couple rounds in them. Why give them a chance to chase you when you shoot a grenade into their chest cavity? nothing says "chunky sulsa" than a HE grenade to the face, LMAO!!!
ok, so there is the potential for the law to get involved with this... i think we will need neon to watch the wire for alarms that go off and get sent out. he'll have to stop them before they are heard.

Liberty's Edge

Crusha

Spoiler:
Looks like your time working with Ares paid off on that knowledge check. Even though Lone Star was a different division then the R&D you worked, you are clearly aware of some of the politics behind them. Lone Star owes a lot of Brackhaven, not just because he is a city official but because he was the push that kept them in business in Seattle. If Julius Struthers had been re-elected, he planned to switch policing contracts to Knight Errant. Because of this you know that a lot of the lone star brass really suck up to Brackhaven and try and give him preferential treatment.

"I may be able to round up some spirits to keep some of the network traffic down. Maybe jam outgoing signals , compile something to hijack drones just in case."

Liberty's Edge

Winston

Spoiler:
What Thomas said about having possible extra heat on this does make sense to you. From what you have heard, Lone Star is in particularly tight with the city government right now and Brackhaven in specific.

MALE ORK

ok. sounds like a plan. make sure to keep an eye out for any alarms that come out of the building. mr. mage? any chance you can cover us in the astral realm?

also, something everyone knows. we hit this, we are making ourselves enemies with the one and only mr.buckhaven (however you spell his name). lonestar owe alot to this guy cuz he resigned the contract for their services to protect the populace. if the other guy had won, then knights errant would be the norm for police protection. so we will become an enemy of this guy. and if he has invested in this stuff, then i am sure he will hear about this hit with his sunday morning coffee. we need to keep low profile with this. nothign to flamboyant...well, except for the fireworks display. and whoever comes up against us tonight...

ok, so we good to go? i got my gear. i got the powder kegs ready to give to you guys, anything you need to take care of? weve covered the basics, we have a plan, we have the gear...what else do we need to discuss?

winston, dont you have someone to be friendly with before tonight? my treat! i finish with a chuckle

im ready to rock this sh1t!

Male Troll Street Samurai

I'm not that kind of Troll. I'm a professional; I don't mix business and pleasure. I might take you up on the offer if we make it through this. One question. What are we doing after the run? Are we splitting up or trying to stick together? We don't have a good getaway vehicle, so that could be an issue.

MALE ORK

i say we stick together. itll be better to have 5 guns on hand than just one and being cornered by a posse of these goons. we get the data and zip out. what i wouldnt give to have a van or trans-truck for all of us to roll in on.... hmmmm, anyone know anyone who can get us a POS van real quick?

Male Troll Street Samurai

I've got a friend who is a mechanic. She's a crusty dwarf, but she might be able to come up with something. She has a garage near Sea Tac air port, which isn't terribly far from here.

Winston gives Delsa a call to see if she can hook them up with a van in short order.

Liberty's Edge

Winston

Spoiler:
Calling out to Desla, the link is full of static and crackles when the dwarf woman picks up. "That you, Win?" She pauses for a minute, listening to the hisses and pops. "Where are you, the Moon?"

She considers the request for the vehicle "Hmm. I can make some calls and see if I can work something up for you, but I don't have one in the shop right now. How quick you need it?"

No successes on the initial connection test for Desla.

Male Troll Street Samurai

I need it in the next few hours if possible.

The dwarf girl on the other line clucks her tongue for a moment and you can almost hear her nod. "Alright, see what I can do, Win. Give me a few hours and go ahead and call back. Might be able to grab a heap from salvage that I can get up and running for you in time."

Male Troll Street Samurai

Call me back if you think you can pull it off, and when you have an idea of cost. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, but I need something that won't break down on me for at least a couple of days, and nothing that Lonestar is looking for.

Winston is happy to wait and see about the Van. If it doesn't work out, we'll go it with what we've got.

Liberty's Edge

I was waiting for any other posts before moving on, but it seems we are hitting another quiet period. Is the plan just to hang low for a few more hours and see if the mechanic can come up with anything? Is there anything you all are going to be doing during that time?

Let's see, no contacts that can help out with this, just going to wait.

MALE ORK

meh, im gonna amuse myself by giving winston tips on handling the troll matroness

Male Troll Street Samurai

I was just waiting for news on the van, and then I'm ready to move on to the run.

Liberty's Edge

At just over the two hour mark Winston gets an alert on his comm. "Found some wheels. Will have them ready to go by the time you get here to pick them up. Nothing flash, but it will keep moving."

Sorry for the quiet, just not much for neon to add, But I am still here

MALE ORK

...and then, when when you got her moaning like a river district whore, you-i pause when winston puts out the info on the vanahh, excellent. lets head out and ill hand out the cakes i made for everyone to enjoy
i stand up and make my way to the door

lets blow sum s#&*t up

Male Troll Street Samurai

Presumably we all move out to go collect our new wheels. For now Winston is riding his bike, and perhaps he can take someone on the back so that person can drive the van back.

Liberty's Edge

When you leave the room and make your way downstairs, the troll woman gives a nice grin to Winston. "Come back and see me sometime, without your friends. I'll keep you company."

Heading east into Auburn, you make your ways through the thick haze of smog and noise given off by the various manufacturing plants.

Winston's contact runs a quick fix-it shop with its back pressed up against a large scrapyard, the heaps of junk rising up above its fence.

When you pull up there is a step-side van parked out front with its hood up, which looks to be more rust then van. A grease covered dwarf woman peeks around the side of the hood and gives a grin, making another quick adjustment and then closing the hood.

"Hey there Win, fellas. She ain't pretty by any means, but she'll get you where you need to go around the city. Might have prettied her up some if I had more time, but I got her purring real nice when it comes to cruising around. Probably wouldn't go taking her to the track though, she has seen better days."

Male Troll Street Samurai

Cheers Delsa. I trust your work. I only need it to run tonight. We'll likely drive it into the barrens and torch it later anyhow.

How much?

Liberty's Edge

She'll give it for 500 nuyen.

Male Troll Street Samurai

Let's get this show on the road then.

Winston transfers her 500.

I'm happy to fast forward to the run now.

Liberty's Edge

Sounds good. How do you guys approach? Where do you park? Any preparations I should be aware of on the way there?

Tarlane wrote:

I'll handle the spray paint, I'm not that great at shooting and I don't want to be leaving my astral signature all over the building.

MALE ORK

when we get to delsa's, ill hand out the special creations to everyone.
ok guys, what you hold in your hand is the homegrown version of tear gas. like i said before, its real simple to use. the one gallon jug holds roughly 1/2 gallon of hot sauce. when you plan to use it, dump in the bag of ground up chemical thatll cause a exothermic reaction and will rapidly create a pressure buildup in the tanks. dump it in, screw the cap on tight, and throw. not sure how long itll take to pop these plastic containers(could be 5 seconds, could be 5 minutes) but when it goes off, itll spray a person with the hot sauce, making them hate life for a few moments, long enough for you to waste them.
the other thing is a lil more fun. its the smoke screen with a twist bomb. you have your household baking ingredients, flour, salt, sugar, baking soda, all mixed in various ratios inside plastic bags. these bags are taped to a can of condensed air. the condensed air container has a det cap on it, and it is keyed to a special frequency which i will give you when i hand it to you. to use, just set it on the floor, or hang it from a wire, key the frequency and boom, instant cloud. best if used when the guy is under it, since the stuff doesnt linger in the air very long.
a word of warning.... dont keep this one on your person any longer than neccessary. a detcap can blow off a chunk of your body.

the way in...
van will lead the charge in, bikes will be in back. we all will park by the back door. i want neon, if he can, sit in the back of the van and hack the building from there. if not, then he comes in. We will stack on the door and open it real fast, either by use of a pair of chainsaws on the hinges, or someone busting the code.
once inside, well go from there...any questions?

lets fast forward

Liberty's Edge

Just going to give a little time for everyone to check in so I know who is still being active. And as a note for Neon in regards to the idea of him being in the Van, that would work well if everything is wireless, but a lot of secret tech is kept off the grid, so it is a risk if there is a hardwired system you need in and he is outside.

Male Human

Ok, back. My personal issues should be resolved and I've prett ymuch figured out the routine at the new job, so...

Skullcrusha, just let me know where you need me, you seem to have the tactical lead on this one.

"Well chummer I would dearly love to be all safe and cozy in the van, good chance you'll need me on the insde. Labs like this tend to keep things off the grid. Just make sure they don't scag me is all"

Does neon need to make a check to see if there is anything active in the area or could he just see it?

Male Troll Street Samurai

Chance, as we get near the place. I think you should go astral and quickly scope it out. See how things are looking tonight. Do you have any magic that can get us close to the guards without them seeing us? We'll need to take them down quick before they trigger any alarms. Neon if there's a way you can monitor for that sort of thing it would be helpful.

"Gladly. I could turn some of us invisible, but I could only manage one person, maybe two tops. I'm guessing you're the best candidate for this part, Winston."

I'll just do the rolling now. To get through the ward: 5, 5, 1, 1, 1, 4, 3, 5, for a total of 3 hits. Assensing: 6, 5, 4, 5, 1, 3, 2, 4, for a total of 3 hits. Note, I am making sure to take a look at the guards out back too this time.

Kinda funny, but when I rearranged spiders skill I forgot to take the computer skill group again. Guessing I left it off when I moved em around..sigh such is life, his matrix perceptions sucks as a result

1 hit

Liberty's Edge

Neon

Spoiler:
The matrix perception check will cover any sort of IC or programs that might be running. If you are wanting to look for any sort of active nodes, then you are going to need to do a Electronic Warfare + Scan check too.

Using your matrix perception check, you can spot a few different glimmers. There are several cameras within and the front door at least has an electronic lock on it. There is some sort of alarm running through the building, but it has some sort of cheap signal dampener in effect, so you can't see too clearly where everything is positioned from outside.

Thomas

Spoiler:
Once again you are able to push through the ward fairly easily and look inside, once again there are three obvious guards moving within, one on the catwalks above, one patrolling the ground floor, and one in the back offices. Only the one in the back office seems to have any sort of real cyberware.

Looking over the pack of gangers who are hanging around the back, you can see 4 people. One is mildly magically active, and looking him over you see that he appears to be a pretty low grade shaman who has some sort of drug flowing through his system. Two of the other gangers are very minimally cybered, while the last one seems to be fairly wired.

Everyone make two visual perception checks for me. First is at -2 unless you have low-light, second is at -2 unless you have thermographic.(Thomas, you only need to make one since you are astral, no penalty on it.)

Perception: 6, 4, 1, 3, 1, 4, 3, 1, for a total of 1 hit.

Liberty's Edge

Thomas

Spoiler:
As you are looking about, just before you push through the aura you notice that there seem to be more then the two guards in the shack at the dock across the way. There are two guards standing within it still, but you catch a faint hint of at least one other aura that looks like it is coming from the ground within. You can't make it out too clearly though, it could be one person or several, and they could be laying and sleeping or hiding.

Male Troll Street Samurai

Perception tests: Winston has both thermo and lowlight. 8d6.hits(5)=2, 8d6.hits(5)=2

Liberty's Edge

Winston

Spoiler:
You notice two things that stand out while you are looking out from the van. Over at the security shack you notice something small, that the guards in the shack are different then the ones who were there before and seem to be paying special attention. Your thermographic vision also picks up some extra hints of heat coming from inside the shack, it isn't very obvious, but there seem to be at least someone else within the shack, but they may be attempting to mask their heat somehow.

Active scan no hits

Perceptions, 1 hit and no hit.

This is informative, it is letting me know skills I over looked when I made neon, which is cool as this is a learning experience for me

Liberty's Edge

Neon

Spoiler:
No worries, there are a lot of skills you don't automatically think of as a techie type. If you want to shift some skills around before we get too much further into it to try and account for these things, I don't mind. I do realize there are a lot of things that you can overlook. Just let me know what you might adjust.

One thing you do notice when you guys pull up in the van is that the two guards who are positioned in the shack by the dock across the way seem to be paying a fair amount of attention tonight, rather then the inattentive duo the others saw on the scouting trip. From their focus, they seem more professional then you would have been led to believe from the quick checkup you did on them earlier.

Male Troll Street Samurai

GM

Spoiler:
Winston has vision magnification, and recording, so he records all this so that he can play it for the team, and he zooms in on whatever is small by the shack to try to get a good look at it. He does this quickly, just after he's done a quick sweep. He also tries to zoom in on the guards too.

Two more visual perception checks: url=http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2249034/]8d6.hits(5)=2, 8d6.hits(5)=3[/url]

GM:

Spoiler:
Assensing, on the people/auras in the guard booth. 1, 5, 3, 2, 4, 2, 3, 3, for 1 totsl hit.

MALE ORK

4d6.hits(5)=1 with low light vision

4d6.hits(5)=2 for thermo.

hmmmm....ahhh, interesting...what the frack am i looking for?

Neon sits forward "Heads up chummers, somethings up. The guards are more active and watchful the the data, says"

GM

Spoiler:

Thanks I wasn't asking to reworked em just had not noticed I had done that, But don't want to hurt the rest of the group so will do a small amount of reworking to take the needed skills
