Male Troll Street Samurai

What do you have in mind Spider?

"Well, as we have the info on the guards, and the company they work for, we could replace the 3rd shift crew. Should be simple, given time for me to hack some ID's and profiles into the seccomp's data base, we should be able to find someone to make a passable ID card, with the database backing us up , we could just switch shifts. Makes it alot easier to avoid the guard when you are the guard And even if the security is to tight to hack the info, I can get the names and addresses of them. All we would need to do is take out the replacement guards."

Male Troll Street Samurai

Wouldn't it be easier just to adjust the contracts in security corp data base so that it looks like Metrx cut back on their security and decided to cancel the third shift? Then we wouldn't have any guards to worry about at all and we wouldn't have to get disguises. Of course the problem with that one is that is might look more suspicious, and it wouldn't give us some of the clearances we might need.

MALE ORK

apparently you cant spend longer than 5 min typing up a response without the website redirecting you to the homepage

that sounds like a good idea. lets make that plan A. be careful and dont arouse the ire of any lurkers on the trix, neon.
in case plan a doesnt work. heres what i suggest:

neon, you track down the rigger and find out if hes in the building or out in a remote location. if its remote, youll have to distract him/take over hes lil toys until the jobs done. if hes local, take over his toys and we'll take him out.

we drive up and park out behind the building, near the back door.
blow the door and charge in.
take out the two guards.
winston will guard the back door, providing overwatch.
thomas will check the inner safe room for any special magical traps that could pop up on us when we enter.
ill cut the door when the magical way is clear.
rick will go in and analyze ISIS.
ill set up some excellent explosives in the room and rig it to blow up hap-hazzardly.
we hi tail it out of there...with a pause
we blow up the guard shed and part of the pier, making sure to sink a couple boats moored to the pier, making it look like we left from the water...

course, im open to revisions...

Liberty's Edge

There is a wonderful friend here (un)affectionately known as the post monster that does like to eat posts if they sit for too long. Normally its a good idea to copy your post before you hit the send button just in case he crops up.

Male Troll Street Samurai

I like Skullcrusha's plan. It's straight forward. However, we should make it look like we were there for sabotage and destruction of property. We don't want them to suspect we were trying to steal anything. I suggest we use some spray paint to leave some eco terrrorist type messages on the place. Maybe we should even burn the place down. Neon could do the same thing in their network. Neon will need to monitor for any sign of alarms or communications to Lone Star or the like. The on sight personal doesn't sound like a huge problem, but if an FRT team shows up we could be in big trouble. I also don't like killing when it ain't necessary. We should try to take the guards out without killing them.

MALE ORK

not kill the guards...wtf? alright, fine ill shoot to wound, although i think its a worse fate having ones leg or arm blown off with one of my rounds...
lets burn it to the ground! i can rig it to burn nice and purdy colors! need two things, gas and styrofoam....

hey rick, didnt you say that there was someone watching the joint and left before we just got here?

"Need I remind you two that we're breaking into a chem lab here? We don't even know what they have stored in there. We start burning the place, who know's what's going to happen."

Male Troll Street Samurai

That's why we'll wear respirators. We also don't need to be there when the main explosions go off. In fact, I'd rather not be there at that point, and isn't this place more pharmasuticals than chemicals?

Male Human

Skullcrusha, yes, someone was casing the bar and hopped in a cab shortly before you arrived back from the recon.

Liberty's Edge

Just a note that I am still here and following everything if anyone has a question or needs to make a check. I'm enjoying the RP and planning at the moment, so feel free to keep going.

MALE ORK

well, thats why we use a fire bomb. itll burn anything in the safe room. get it hot enough and nothing will survive.
need to get me a respirator...
so we had a guy watching the joint huh? we need to keep an eye out for that stuff. if you think your being followed, send everyone a message....hmmmm

anyone else got anything? if not, i suggest we leave and head it to our homes for some shut eye...

Male Troll Street Samurai

Sounds good. Let's meet again tomorrow afternoon. I suggest everyone look into picking up a respirator, sunglasses, a hat and maybe a can of spray paint. Of course we'll have to do our tagging on the pavement outside if we're burning the place down. Just remember the star and the corps don't like arson. We're stepping it well up from a mere break in if we blow the place up.

MALE ORK

i get home and crash out, sleeping like a log, but leaving my 990 out along my bed loaded with exp rounds incase of a break in. i wake up at my usual time of 0600 the next morning and make my way down to the following places

hardware store

Spoiler:
at the hardware store i buy
6x 5-gallon gas containers
1 box of 24 count compressed air bottles
1 ea of spray paint- black, red, blue, yellow
10x 1 gallon water jugs
30 water activated food heaters

grocery store
10x 1-gallon tabasco hot sauce jugs (or equivalant)
10 lbs sugar
10 lbs flour
10 cans backing powder
10 cans of salt
4 cans of shaving foam, NOT GEL!

and wherever you can find a respirator.

when it gets to 8am, i give ben smith, a call...

Male Troll Street Samurai

I don't think I've ever seen any kind of hot sauce in anything close to a 1 gallon container, but who knows what the future will hold.

Never been to Texas, eh? ;)

Either that or a Sam's Club. Even in the future, people are still going to want to buy things in large quantities for cheaper prices. On a side note, how much did the two (soon to be three) taxi rides cost?

EDIT: Oh, and does anyone else think Skullcrusha's making explosives from common household ingredients or just realized he was running out of baking ingredients?

Male Troll Street Samurai

It's true, I have not been to either Texas or Sam's Club. I thought he was going to bake us some spicy cookies

Male Troll Street Samurai

Tarlane

Spoiler:
Winston doens't go home. He heads to Bellevue's Newcastle neighbourhood, which isn't too far from Redmond (where his home is) and he rents a cheap hotel room for the night (one he knows doesn't mind renting to trogs) He sleeps with his gun under his pillow. Before going to sleep he e-mails Dr. Bob (his street doc) about MetrX, as this is the only contact he can think of that might know anything. He says he'll make it worth his while if he can come up with any good info.

Assuming his sleep passes well, he wakes up the next morning around eight and heads for a greasy diner for a big breakfast.

Liberty's Edge

The various supplies are all relatively innocuous and so are fairly simple to acquire from the store and by swinging through a wholesale shop you are able to pick them up in the quantities you want.

Thomas, as long as you aren't having to make long distance trips or over-using it, I was just going to soak the cab-fare in your lifestyle. Cabs don't run you everywhere, and when you take one you leave some trace of where you went, so it is enough of a detriment versus having a car to work for me that way. If you were down in the squatter lifestyle I'd make you take the bus though.

Winston

Spoiler:
Giving Dr. Bob a call, he sounds pretty exhausted when he picks up. "Hey, Win. Whats up?" He grumbles a bit as you ask him about MetaRX and then shrugs some. "Hm. I don't know too much about them. Heard what most have, I suppose, they have some wiz drug on the way. Been targeting it fairly heavy towards Metas. That why you're interested?"

Crusha

Spoiler:
When the call goes off to Mr. Smith in the morning he answers promptly in the morning. "Whats going on, Omae? How can I help?"

I just realized last night that I managed to flub a bit of the fluff I put in. I was running off some of the fluff that was set in 2070 and hadn't realized they had already advanced the year up to 2072 which is where I am setting things. I was making the assumption(there is my problem) that Julius Struthers, who was the incumbent, would have maintained his status as governor in Seattle. In fact, it was Brackhaven who won the election. I normally would just run with what I said above, and that would be our new fluff for this version of the world, but I think that having Brackhaven as governor could actually be more interesting since you guys were already being concerned that his company was delivering the chemicals. Since you knew it was a major politician who owned the company already, I don't think it will have changed anything other then just knowing that was his posistion.

Male Troll Street Samurai

Tarlane

Spoiler:
Well can you do me a favor and dig into it a little deeper. You know people I don't that might know more than what you've heard in passing. I can make it worth your while. I just ask that you do it discreetly, and if anyone asks don't mention my name. What do you say?

Tarlane:

Spoiler:
Thomas heads back to his apartment. After a quick meal of bland soy and a glass of synthahol, he takes out his comlink and makes a call. "Hey, Dimez. Sorry about calling so late, just need to ask you a question. You ever hear of a place called MetrX?

Liberty's Edge

Winston

Spoiler:
You can almost hear the doc nodding on the other end of the line. "Yeah, yeah, sure thing Win. You got a timeframe for this stuff? I can ask and be quiet-like about it, but being discreet normally doesn't happen to quick, ya know?"

Thomas

Spoiler:
Answering the phone, the detective clucks his tongue, thinking. [b]"Yeah, I've heard of them, buddy. Local operation down on the docks, right? Don't know just what they are up to, but sounds like they are pretty big with some of genetically maligned. Might be some sort of beauty product, but I can't say I know for sure. Funny you ask though, I just know about the place because some of the boys had to break up a fight down near there the other day. Guess some guy was wandering around out there and a couple of the ragers jumped him, said he was scoping their turf. Didn't find any dirt on him and he walked away with just some cuts and bruises so if I remember the report right they let him go. Couple of the gangers are still in lockup at hollywood correctional, but I doubt that will last too long."[b]

Liberty's Edge

Neon, you still around? I haven't heard from you in a while.

Also, I just wanted to check to make sure everyone is enjoying things? Any suggestions or things you would want to change?

hey ben, morning! hope you slept well. hope the snorring from karen didnt keep you up at night? lol, seriously though, i need some serious help. we are best friends, helped each other countless times in the past, both at work and in our home lives. what im about to tell you is pretty big....
... i used to be a runner. a big one too. had it all too, the big guns, the big explosives, the fun cars... but, when the oppurtunity came, i retired, fell off the planet, destroyed all records of me, so only people could say that i lived, but couldnt prove it. then i became a "normal" citizen. got myself a job, made money, family, settled down. all was fine until a month ago. events that i cannot talk about until i know its ok to happened that is forcing my hand. i have had to go back into the shadows, to be a runner.
i need your help cuz i would rather have you know whats happening than actually going behind your back with this. i know this is alot to take in, but i have an idea...
...since we work in the R&D dept, heres what i propose. we need field tests of the items we invent, from the new lowly pistol to massive armored carrier that can go 100ft below water and come up guns blazing. what im offering is a "proper" field test of random items. you could say im a "third party reviewer".
the thing i need to field test is the new maxflo formula for the new napalm dispersion kit. its the one that when detonated, itll disperse the fuel mix in a wide area of equal dimensions?

It looks like seeker's going on another unintentional hiatus. He's probably going to come back eventually.

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, I was going to give him til monday in case the weekend has him away longer then normal, and then I'll start running him as an NPC until he is back, assuming he's back by the end of the mission. If you guys finish the run(not a quick thing in PbP) without him, then I'll start looking for someone to take his spot when we are getting closer.

Male Troll Street Samurai

Winston's ready to meet with the group again and get things going whenever every else is ready.

Liberty's Edge

Sorry for the slow responses for the stuff that was put up yesterday, I wasn't able to really get on yesterday.

Crusha

Spoiler:
Some of this stuff is a bit of a leap if you are inventing something you want to be in the research lab. Its unlikely that your contacts are going to be able to bring something truly cutting edge out for a 'street test', especially when he works for a big corp like Ares. Its too likely it would get picked up by another corp or just seen well enough for others to be able to counter-research it or the user could just go rogue with it. That sort of test is just too dangerous for a contact to pull off. In addition, I'd want to work with you on just what they might have in stock of their research lab if there is something new that you would want access to.

If these objects are in one of the books and are standard, if cutting edge, gear, then Ben can try and get them for you, but it will take some time, using his connection rating vs its availability. I will probably give him a bonus based on his posistion, but you'll still be looking at a few days at least.

I think that once everyone else is ready to go, we can push forward. Just got to hear from the other few. Neon is back, as he said above, but it sounds like he might be slow for a bit, so until he's set I can put out the information he would have gathered for him. Take care of what you need to, Neon. You're welcome back in when you get back.

MALE ORK

tarlane

Spoiler:
yeah, that makes sense. it is a huge stretch to be able to pull R&D products from a mega-corps. granted, getting such items would be a huge stretch, like the new tech bombs and explosives and stuff, but what about granting my guy access to some random chemical formulae? he has a rating 6 in chemistry, so he would be able to handle anything that comes out on to the market and make it in his house.im not looking to get the big uber weapons and stuff, just want to have access to the chemical equations that are being developed....
so how bout this proposal, since my guy was technically in the bomb/explosive dept, lets say that i would have intimate knowledge on the common homebrewed and military grade explosives, from making your own plastik to hotwiring a grenade to a can of paint thinner? my main goal from ben would be just to get some of the crazier explosive formulae, like binary exp and others of that sort...

hey ben, better idea, how bout letting me get my hands on that awesome military grade plastik that is kept locked up? dont need it now, but say 2 weeks from now?

when i finish my errands, i run my stuff back home and proceed to make some special items for tonights run

tarlane, im posting what im making now so that its on record incase i forget to post it later on.

Spoiler:

making cheap tear gas bombs from filling up the water jugs with tabasco sauce and crushing up the water activated heating elements and storing the crushed remnants in tissue paper that easily disolves in liquid, but not putting them in yet. ill do that when the s#%~ hits the fan, if it does.
im mixing the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder into equal parts and filing up some of the containers i bought. im duct taping a canister of compressed air with a RF det cap tapped to it. cheapass smoke bomb that is a major eye irritant.

Liberty's Edge

Crusha

Spoiler:
You can certainly whip up a variety of chemicals with your demolitions and chemistry skills, and with Ben's connections he'll be able to come up with a lot of goods for you. I just wanted to make sure you realized that he couldn't dig up just anything, especially not prototype stuff.

Ben considers. "Alright, buddy. I could probably manage that. Let me see just what I can come up with. Will take some time, but I could probably find someone who can deliver that sort of gear for you. Man, this is big though. You gonna be alright?"

Whipping up the supplies is a simple enough thing, you are skilled enough that you can easily make such basic jury rigged tools.

So it sounds like Winston is ready, and I think at this point Crusha is as well, his spoiler stuff is now just chatting that probably isn't going to effect anything so we could do that while we are progressing. Thomas and Rick, are you two doing anything beyond resting for the night? Otherwise, we can pick up with the meet the next morning.

Winston

Spoiler:
Make an intuition + perception check for me.

Male Human

I'm just relaxing for the evening, letting the others get their prep time in. I don't have a lot of experience dealing with he corporate world, or running the shadows (I'm a SINner and an ex-cop, after all), so I'll defer to the others expertise in these matters.

Security can be tight downtown, and I've got plenty of gear that I don't feel like bringing that way. Let's meet in Tacoma. There's a quiet place called (gm could you fill in a name for me) that has a nice back room and respects people's privacy.

Male Human

Tacoma sounds good. When do you want to meet?

MALE ORK

sounds good. lets plan to meet up at 1900 in this random joint.

when i roll out im taking the following items with me...

ruger in boot holster with 8 rds explosive, 8 reg
roomsweeper with 12 rds regular on hip holster
rem 990 slung across back with 30 rds regular and 4 rds exp
armtech with 3 clips(12 rds per clips) with frag grenades
4 HE hand grenades
combat knife in other boot

large duffle bag
special fun time treats for the group
monofiliment chainsaw

Liberty's Edge

Sorry I've been a bit slow these last couple days. I work as a Network Admin, and we had one of those completely freakish disasters that took out our email company wide and I've been scrambling the last two days to get it back up again. Should be smooth sailing once again for me. I've been trying to follow all the posts as best I could, but I haven't been able to rapid fire post like I like to.

A good spot in Tacoma to lay somewhat low and get a good meal is Olga's Tearoom. Its a Russian style tearoom and restaurant that serves decent enough food and has private rooms for meetings available at a reasonable price. Its a well known 'secret' that it also serves as a brothel on the upper floors, so dealings are kept quiet here.

Roll the amount of dice listed next to your name, if you get 2 hits, you may look at the spoiler below.
Rick 6
Winston 8
Thomas 2
Skull 4
Neon 8

Spoiler:
Olga's is also known as a Vory front, and Olga herself is something of an arms dealer for the syndicate. She's quick to anger and very protective of her girls, but if you get on her good side she can be a good supplier of weapons.

What time are you all planning on doing this meet? Olga's will open about noon. Or, if you don't think you like the idea of the meet there, there are lots of other options in Tacoma.
