Liberty's Edge

As the weary party goers take their leave of the grand Paizocon Gala a man steps up on a small stump of a long forgotten tree and cries to the masses, Hear ye Hear ye, I have a challenge for you fine folk. I hold in my hand a parchment to sign your intent, No no, a PLEDGE to return to this fair city and partake in next years Grand Paizocon Gala! Who will be the first to take the pledge to make the long and arduous journey up to Mount Paizo to again enjoy the festivities provided by our fine hosts? There will be many games to play, fine friends and new ones to be met, a new assortment of equipment to buy, great food(maybe not the roast beast, still kicking my butt a little) and many challenges for your minds! Plus I imagine the hosts will be gracious in their gifts once again! Who, Who among you will be the first to make the pledge! The man scans the crowd watching the tired group try to decide through muddled mind if they are up to the challenge!

A handsome elf slips out of the shadows from behind the crowd and stands before the man on the stump with quill in hand, I, Zoomackulas Eichendar of the forest of Kyonin will be the first to take up your challenge, hand me the parchment in your hand my good man so I might sign it. The elf easily scrawls his mark and turns to the departing crowd, Let the word travel to the corners of Golarion of this pledge so they may too sign this pledge to attend the Great Gala known as Paizocon! Who among you will join me in this pledge? The elf hands the parchment back to the town crier and with a whirl of his cape desends Mount Paizo heading home to the comfort of his forest to rest and reflect on the many moments of merriment he enjoyed this past weekend!

Liberty's Edge

The town crier holds up the parchment and shouts, Is there no one here brave enough to take the pledge? State your commentment now to attend the Grand PaizoCon Gala in 2010! The town crier watches the departing crowd and then looks down at the one brave soul willing to put his pledge to the record on the parchment he holds.....

Liberty's Edge

I, Reiko, will see you there! Will there be others to step up?

A sibilant, whirring voice that cuts the air like a winter wind and grates every spine like the splintering of helpless trees burst by their own lifesap cruelly frozen in every vein carries through the crowd... "Thisss one will commme." And in an instant the chill is gone, leaving only a memory behind... and a darkling promise.

I, GreatKhanArtist, oppressor of far too many nations to even begin to describe, also vow to pillage this event.

It's PaizoCon 3, right? Did I just sign up for some petition thing? Will this fill my spam filter?

Hehehe, I'll be there!

It looks as though I'll be getting married next summer, but I will do all in my power to get to PaizoCon 3, even if it means we need to get a smaller cake, less colorful bouquets, or one or two fewer bridesmaids. You know...priorities.

I'd kill or die to be there...and if it comes to that, well, I guess I won't make it. :)

But...I'll try.

A lotta weddings coming up. I'm eloping to Hawaii next month, Rob McCreary is wedding his lovely Marta in September, and now you! Cue Bill Nighy singing as "Billy Mack"...

I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes.

Rachel and I are going to get married sometime but never seem to find the cash. Maybe we could get a bunch of people together and to an Epic Paizocon Marriage event!

We could even register with Paizo for gifts...

You know, when I called home on Sunday evening to check in, I got the same suggestion. In jest, but still, the same PaizoCon wedding suggestion. Which Paizo staffer would have the honors of officiating?

They could get someone ordained at http://dudeism.com/

Quote:

Come join the slowest-growing religion in the world - Dudeism. An ancient philosophy that preaches non-preachiness, practices as little as possible, and above all, uh...lost my train of thought there. Anyway, if you'd like to find peace on earth and goodwill, man, we'll help you get started. Right after a little nap.

As an ordained Dudeist Priest, you can minister over religious ceremonies in most U.S. States (laws vary, so check with your local County Clerk first).

Preside over a wedding, a funeral, a bris, a baptism, or even a pet-spaying ceremony with pride and authority!

Or just kick back and enjoy the knowledge that you're an officially-sanctified holy representative of one of the world's most easygoing religions.

Ordaining is totally free and there are no obligations.

I'm an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church. Which is weird, because I'm an atheist. But still.

Just sayin'.

Crap, I'm NEVER getting married...

Being new to Pathfinder, Rachel and I added negative modifiers at the trivia contest. Aroden's Faithful still got 14 however. My best answer was the Bolt brothers for the logging company owners. How many times do you get to do a Here Come the Brides reference, in Seattle no less?

One of our roommates has that same thing going on.

If I could pre-order tickets right now, I would. Baring death and/or dismemberment I will be at Paizocon 2010.

Next year's mix party will be even awesomer!

I stole your picture of me for my blog, btw. Thanks!

Good to hear. We'll definitely have a room next year if not all weekend then for that party. I really missed it and wished I could have attended.

Without a doubt Dreamweaver and I will be back in full force. Hopefully I will not be sick!

Also to those higher up... The interactive was the best and would love to see it come back next year!

Alas, not only do I miss posting, and the serious discussions with my online companions. Now it seems after my long absence I've missed Paizocon as well. I've begun my vacation only to discover the party is over.

Lena!!!! I've missed you! Welcome back. :)

Okay so maybe the last post should have been in the 09 board and not for future cons, meh, I'm a little rusty.
Let me start again...
Come hades or high water, providing my classes, job, children or finances don't get in the way, I will do everything within my cosmic power to attend at last!

Thank you lynora, I've sure missed being around. Finally, work and classes are over for the summer, two months of nothing but Paizo!

Sounds great. :) Glad to hear you'll be around more, for a couple months at least.

I'll be there. If the budget can work out, I'll bring my son and daughter too.

I have ventured to the top of mount Paizo and will venture there once more... next year. Oh and make another trivia contest. I'm sure with Yoda getting married and me being poor, we will need all the free stuff we can get. RFBU#107 lives on!

The Exchange

I should be there...though I hope that you can get a slightly larger venue with the same number of people. ;)

Weird...so am I. The ordained through ULC part, not the atheist part. I'm agnostic.

House Jeggare has found viable information regarding the eclectic demographic of patrons at said event, due to the value of said information I have been dispatched in advanced to further observe notable happenings at what I have named "The Epicenter of Awesome".

This assumes you aren't unconscious and bleeding and miss your flight.

Scarab Sages

I have a dilemma for next year:

- PAIZOCON, or

- 20 year high school reunion.

Either way I'd have to fly. I'm sure I'd enjoy PAIZOCON more, but with the reunion, I have a place to stay and get to visit with my folks. Like I said, it's a toss up.

What do you folks think?
