Sorry about the bored thing. I only wish I had that problem. I have people going to be here in ten minutes and the house is a total mess.
But at least I finished the back to school shopping. Sure, it cost an arm and a leg...probably a kidney too...but we all have clothes that are the right size, not torn, and not covered in stains. So that is good.
Thank Goodness for Uniforms! Kellen starts at a Charter school so he has to have uniforms...all I had to get were Kakhis! :)
Well that and the tom of pencils and crayons and all that good stuff! Anyone else notice that the list gets bigger as they add hand sanitizer and dry erase markers?
T-shirts and jeans isn't a uniform? ;)
It sure feels like it is sometimes. And we got some good deals at the outlets thank goodness. He looks so funny in the size seven/eights that I bought for him. The six/sevens were too tight, but these are so huge and baggy on him. Of course I know they'll be too small by the end of the year. I'm just hoping first grade goes better than kindergarten did. We haven't had to buy any pencils, crayons, etc yet. We weren't even allowed to provide them last year, and I'm still waiting for the info on teacher assignment which will probably also tell us what we need other than a backpack and a lunchbox. They like to send stuff out last minute so that you have to go run out the night before school starts. ;)Anyways, I hope that Kellen likes his new school.

The school seems awesome, he already made a friend, so that's cool. They sent the list of "gotta haves" 3 weeks in advance.... I scratch my head over some of it, pretty sure the teacher is hoarding.... maybe she's a dragon. ;P

The job interview went pretty well. I got called back for a second interview with the owners tomorrow.
David, how good are you with C# and .NET development? Also, can you commute from Utah to Winston-Salem, NC every day?
My kids start school tomorrow, with varying levels of excitement. My daughter's social life actually improves when she goes back to school, and my son is starting his sophomore year of high school. Three more years until he's off to college.
Solnes, Moorluck, and Lynora: I hope your kids' first days went well.

I'm a quick study when it comes to computer stuff. Plus I'd move to the Carolinas for th right job. My family used to own one of the big estates on Hilton Head. Solnes and Moorluck have already offered me their couch if I need it.

Not yet, but, if I'm really lucky, I will.

OK. I'll have to change all the forms I filled out to put your name on them, and we'll have to come up with a suitably soap-operatic reason for the change in appearance.
Or I could give you a recommendation to take my place if I leave my current job. I'd only wish that on my worst enemy, so...

Good luck with the second job interview! We keep forgetting that you are so close to us...Only a few hours away. Wanna get together some four day weekend or something? We could set up a game or just head out.:)

I hate grocery shopping. And coming back from vacation there's always so much food that has to be thrown out and rebought which is just depressing given how much we spend on groceries. But, on the bright side, we now have lots of yummy fruit to eat. One of the things I hate about traveling is that I never get to eat enough fruits and veggies. I was raised on health food and have never been able to adjust to 'normal' food.

My son started 1st grade Wednesday; nowhere near the driving and crying as kindergarten was.....
My oldest daughter started pre-K today. The wife said she almost cried two times, but kept a stiff upper lip.
She's been bouncing off the walls like an Anamaniac at home for a week though, vacillating between wanting to go and abhorring the idea, so I guess she worked it all out.

I definitely need to have more fruits and vegetables in my diet. The range of vegetables I like is pretty limited, though, and most of them are just slightly different colored starches (corn, for example).

She's shy as all getout though; I think she'll manage though. I was bummed out all day at work, til I got the news that she was having a good time.
I'm glad to hear that.
When my son went to school for the first time, my wife and I were worried he would have trouble fitting in and making friends. He ended up doing pretty well.

Fruits? Vegetables? What are these strange things of which you speak? Are they similar to brainnnnnsssss?
