Once he is standing on the ledge, Shimei dusts himself off. "Thank you." He bows stiffly to Erizi. "How is the goat?"

Diplomacy 1d20-1= 7

male; F +8, R +4, W +3 Human (Garamundi); AC* 17/14/13 or 19/14/15 (* When raging -1) HP 68/55(+8), Rage 14/7, Init +3, PER +8 Barbarian / Titan Mauler / 4; CMB +8, CMD 22

Erizi nods acknowledging the thanks. Then nods his head at the goat. "Maybe dinner" he growls.

The Exchange

Hadrod notices the small spine stuck in Zsithreminni's hair, and the spider crawling after its web all around it. He pays no attention to her words.

Then he cannot bring himself to go over and examine the goat. His head jerks round at Erizi's words about dinner and his eyes begin to bulge.

A small piece of tumbleweed blows over the goat as if it isn't there. Then it gets stuck under the rope tether.

Male Human Cleric 2

Nombir moves to the goat and channels positive energy into it.

1D6+1=5

That means going through the cactus field.

That's fine but I will need six acrobatics checks to get passed the spiny bushes.

Whoops! I forgot that, so I won't be doing that

Shimei crouches beside the goat and examines it.

How's this goat? I am loathe to spend more healing on it. (remember I already healed it once, and it kicked me down the ravine. )

The Exchange

Shimei

Spoiler:
Its hard to tell but the goat seems to be dead. Its neck is tightly choked or broken by the rope tethered to the split bush.

"The goat seems to be dead, but maybe if we give it some air." Shimei's knife is back in his hand and he saws delicately at the rope around the goat's neck.

The Exchange

And that was what I was waiting for.

As Shimei reaches down to cut the goat's rope, a squeal of anger comes from the rocks nearby on the ledge, "Yearrruchhh!"

Out of the cover steps a dog eared gremlin, like an ugly lapdog standing on its hind legs, with sickly canine teeth grinning at everyone. Clothed in filthy rags, the nasty creature is only tiny but with its oversized dagger and bow over one shoulder it looks murderous.

The pugwampi has one claw raised and pointing at the party.

Shimei, Zaid, Hadrod, Zsithreminni and Erizi are on the ledge near the creature.

I shall let those of you who haven't read the scenario into the awful secret about pugwampis, this is where everyone's bad luck stems from. A pugwampis creates an aura of unluck which means that anyone making a d20 roll (such as saves, attacks or checks) within 20 feet must roll twice and take the worst result.[ooc]

The nasty wee beastie giggles and claws at the air.

[ooc]Can I have two initiative checks from everyone, including Nombir who can hear the scream? Hadrod will play no part in the action, he just moves back, still in shock over his lost lead goat. I will keep this fight freeform but for more complicated action I'll use grids or a basic map.

"What in Shadar's Sandel" is that Erizi growls unlimbering his earthbreaker.

Initiative (1d20+3=9, 1d20+3=23)

darn wasted 20

Two initiatives, so I rolled a second one for you and didn't beat 5. Such bad luck and all from a tiny little gremlin, ha ha ha.

Male Human (Keleshite) Wizard (conjurer) 2

"Pugwampy I imagine."

I did not read the adventure but did I read the bestiary.

Initiative: 1d20+3=22, 1d20+3=17

Sorry for delay will post monday as I didnt take my dice to my partners and i dont use dice rolling programmes

Initiatives
1d20+2=8
1d20+2=17

Shimei looks at the little pug. "No wonder gnolls don't like them. They are ugly, like a camel's ass."

"What spawn of beast are you foul little mite."She says with a look of horror.
Initiative 1d20+3=11 1d20+3=13

The Exchange

I am effectively on holiday now for the next week. Sorry to spring this on you but I've suddenly got alot of extra stuff on. Now seems the best time to halt this game, before the 2ft tall pugwampi kicks your butts!

The Exchange

The pugwampi hisses again, its claw raised at everyone.

Initiative order is
Zaid 17
Zsithreminni 11
Erizi 9
Shimei 8
Nombir 5

Dashki hears the yell and smiles at Nombir, "you better help your friends. They sound like they need it."

Hadrod stands frozen at his prize goat. Dead goat.

I have rolled the Pugwampi initiative, he has already got the jump and is now ready for action. Post in or out of init and I'll sort it out round by round. The gremlin is between ten and fifteen feet from most of the party (except Nombir who is outisde the cactus field). REMEMBER TWO D20 ROLLS WHENEVER ONE WOULD NORMALLY BE NEEDED.

Shimei draws his daggers and regrets that he left his bow with his robe and armour. A second later he regrets it more as the dagger he throws flies wide of its target.

6 to hit.

The Exchange

oooh bad luck...

French Wolf wrote:

My good roll added up to 9 which I doubt would have hit either, so I don't feel too bad.

Male Human (Keleshite) Wizard (conjurer) 2

Zaid spends the entire round chaniting.

An augmented celestial badger will appear next to the pugwampi at the beginning of next round.

Male Human Cleric 2

Nombir shouts to everybody "withdraw back to me so we can fight together and make it come to us!".

"Good idea Nombir" As I make my way to Nombir, drawing my scimitar. "C'mon you little beastie lets have you."

male; F +8, R +4, W +3 Human (Garamundi); AC* 17/14/13 or 19/14/15 (* When raging -1) HP 68/55(+8), Rage 14/7, Init +3, PER +8 Barbarian / Titan Mauler / 4; CMB +8, CMD 22

Erizi looks at Nombir, "Wait?" "I do not wait". "Sometimes the first blow is the only one, and I don't intend to give this meddlesome creature the first blow.

Erizi charges the pesky creature if possible with his earth breaker.

Earth Breaker attack (1d20+7=26, 1d20+7=13) (NOTE: +2 to each if charge is possible)

Damage (2d6+7=12, 2d6+7=14) (NOTE: not sure if I need to roll twice for damage as well)

The Exchange

Zsithreminni wrote:

Just to be clear, Nombir is on the far side of the cactus field. Pretty much everyone else is on the ledge with the pugwampi. If you wish to change your action you have a couple of hours, Zsithreminni. If not, I need two acrobatics checks for this round as you start into the spines.

For Zsithreminni to read (only if you choose to attack the pugwampi)

Spoiler:
I need two Will saves as its spell goes off.

Can I have two Will saves just in case zsithreminni doesn't change her actions.

FW

Doh sorry my bad its been a week should have reread previous posts

She will ready her scimitar and go onto total defence, just incase their are any more creatures about.

Spoiler:
will save 1d20+2=11 1d20+2=4

The Exchange

Zaid begins the intricate casting of a summoning as Zsithreminni guards, her scimitar poised in defence. The winds of luck blow fortunately for them however...

Erizi charges. As he does the little monster lets fly a spell, for a moment the earthbreaker jumps in his hands then the magical energy dissipates.

Then he brings it down, hard on the beast.

SPLAT!

The broken bones and mess of a head stick to the great hammer. A tiny sack spills across the ground, revealing a tiny dagger, some broken arrows and their smashed bow, and a dozen or so Harrow cards.

Shimei stands poised dagger in hand, but luck is on his side. He does not have to throw.

A brief sob comes from Hadrod as he picks up the limp goat.

The Exchange

Everyone gets 100xp for completing this part of the adventure.

Erizi has the evidence that Almah wished for, it's on the end of his earthbreaker.

Male Human Cleric 2

FW - I take it we are out of rounds now?

The Exchange

Yep.

Shimei holds his throw and stands a little awestruck.

"That was a shrewdly struck blow. What is your name? I woiuld like very much to be your friend."

Wow, Scranford. Just wow.

The Exchange

Just like Yrar. Devastating.

Hadrod looks up, "can we leave now?"

Shimei surveys the field. He has won no honor here, although his silent companion has. "Yes," he says to Hadrod, "let us leave this place."

At the edge of the cacti, he pauses, "Perhaps we should bring Rombard with us, so that his death is not in vain."

Acrobat checks to leave cacti (1d20=1, 1d20=6, 1d20=17) +2 += 3, 8, 19.

Agreed. Much like Yrar. Lethal.

Male Human (Keleshite) Wizard (conjurer) 2

Aww...

A badger appears next to the corpse of the gremlin and begins to chew on it for a few seconds before it winks out of existence again.

Moving through the cacti patches.

Acrobatics check 1d20+7=21 1d20+7=19 1d20+7=11

After reaching the other side she notices a few tiny cuts on her arms shrugging her shoulders she mutters to herself " Those cacti where more dangerous than that little mite."

The Exchange

Back at camp

Dashki has not gone far and will accompany the party to the camp. The death of the pugwampi removes all the bad luck that everyone has been having, allowing everyone to return relatively unharmed. I am sure any scrapes and scratches can be taken care of by the clerics before resting. However before that Almah needs a report of the scouting for goats.

Hadrod takes the first opportunity to head back to his animals, to show his wife the dead Rombard. he pays no heed to the party or the scout.

The red glow of the fire gives off flickering shadows, by which Almah's guarded tent stands open, and a soft light shows through.

As well as the two Pactmaster guards, there is the red haired halfling, Father Zastoran, and a female mercenary chatting in the warmth.

Behind them the Sultan's Claw is now a large deformed stump, its fingers burnt away.

Over to you guys.

Is Erizi carrying his trophy back?

The yellow dog growls at each person emerging from the cactus field until Shimei comes out. The desert rat rearms himself and walks back to the camp in silence.

On reaching the camp he says, "Most of our words did not find favor with Almah. Nombir, she heeded best. He should speak for us."

Male Human (Keleshite) Wizard (conjurer) 2

Zaid closely examines the corpse for a moment before following the others through the cactus patch, and if Ezri does not grab it Zaid does to bring it back to camp.

Acrobatics checks: 1d20+3=13, 1d20+3=10, 1d20+3=17

The Exchange

No real need for the Acrobatics checks, since by morning the cleric can resolve that all easily.

Erizi, or if necessary Zaid can return with the pugwampi corpse. It is a mess and the creature reminds Zaid of an imp or wizards gremlin, with an ugly face and lopsided ears. However the earthbreaker has destroyed most of its features.

Someone or all of you need to make a report to Almah. Nombir?

Male Human Cleric 2

Diplomacy is not my thing, so this may not be a good idea, but here we go!

"Lady Almah, the missing goat has been found, but unfortunately it was killed by this apparently". Nomibir points at the pugwampis corpse. "I've never seen anything like it before, but it may well have been the cause of the fire my Lady".

"Well that was fun rescuing some dumb animal." She thinks to herself."Time to hit the sack I think and lets hope the next day is alot more better served than babysitting some shephards and goats."

She makes her way to her bedroll rechecks her pack and settles down for the evening.

male; F +8, R +4, W +3 Human (Garamundi); AC* 17/14/13 or 19/14/15 (* When raging -1) HP 68/55(+8), Rage 14/7, Init +3, PER +8 Barbarian / Titan Mauler / 4; CMB +8, CMD 22

"It was more loud than tough". "Much like Theodril of Ollo, who danced about and ran his mouth, till he met my hammer, with much the same result".

"I am called Erizi".

Erizi then makes his way back to the camp careful not to dislodge what remains of the gremlin from his hammer, so that it can be presented as evidence.

Erizi also gathers up what remains of the Pugwampi's equipment if no one else does so. It can be inspected more carefully when they arrive back in camp.

"Well met, Erizi. I hope I never meet your hammer."

Nombir Kadesh wrote:

Diplomacy may not be your thing, but Almah fairly scorched the rest of us in the first tent meeting. Z___ did you run into a Harrow card earlier?

Shimei carefully cultivates silence during the report.

The Exchange

"That? ...is a pugwampi? and what makes you think it is our firestarter?" Almah looks at the distasteful mess. She looks from Nombir to the others.

So far I have Nombir and Shimei making the report. What about the others? Has Zsithreminni gone to bed?

Dashki slips away from the group and does not enter the tent.

However Garavel joins the carpet meeting from his quarters. He speaks as little as Shimei.
