Why aren't you reporting your scenarios?

The reporting went pretty well, save for character 6289-1 appearing as "doctor weenz" instead of Kasann Al-Hazara.

Are you sure you had the correct PFS # one of my players switched 2 digits and then bugged me for weeks to fix it.

Just hope "6289" will see this post and manifest himself....

Could we "poke" 6289 ?

I reported my event, but I dont see that the players got their prestige awards, although I noted them in the report that i submitted

I was wondering if the scenarios for PaizoCon have been reported. I have not seen them on my list of sessions. Just wondering.

I played some PFS mod's at ConFusion last October in Victoria, BC. I'm not sure if they ever got posted -- it was the pre-web reporting days. How is something like that dealt with?

PaizoCon has not been reported yet. Give it a couple of weeks and it will be.

So long as you have the proper paperwork, the paperwork will always trump the online record. If you have any way to contact your GM or coordinator from that show, that's a good place to get started to get that con organizer to report your events.

Josh, with rethinking the competition between the factions for points is there any function to the reporting system save for a way to track who is playing how much? I'm still going to report my tables either way, because that's the responsible thing to do. But if I get someone's faction point wrong when I report a table, does it really matter in the big picture? I tell people that the session reporting is not a tool for character audits (which are unneccessary since everyone is on the honor system).

Reporting is a cascading effect. We need to know who's playing so that we know how many people we're hitting each month with our product so that we can track growth so that we can spend more money on the Society. The more people that play, the bigger budget we give to the Society (and potential things like player and GM rewards). We're talking about possibly simplifying the things you need to input on paizo.com, but we still need people to report their sessions.

Your question was a really good one, though, and sent me down a line of thinking that may radically (and awesomely!) change the way we calculate prestige and WHY we calculate it.

The two GM's I had at PaizoCon have not reported the events. How can I best go about asking them to report?

Anyone who GMs at a convention (including PaizoCon) generally has a record sheet they turn over to the event organizer or coordinator at the end of their session. In this case, Josh has them and has said that he'll get around to reporting them in the next few weeks.

Ahh, thanks! Guess I need to be spending more of my time perusing Paizo messageboards and then I could have saved a post ;)

I reported the two mods I recently ran, which were also my first. And I promise I will continue to do so. I just hope I did it right is all.

So, did the PaizoCon and any other 'con since Paizocon events get recorded?

And my GM for #3 (for my one PFS Character) still has not recorded the event, let alone the messy demise of said character. *tsk tsk* :)

The Gathering has the Origins tables reported. Any sessions that were not handed into HQ may still be outstanding.

PaizoCon has not gone in yet. I'm swamped with Gen Con prep and my minion who sometimes enters con info for me is also swamped. We'll get to it ... eventually. :-/

Yup. In fact, they sit next to my keyboard and once I've finally caught up on the boards and email, I'll be inputting them myself. Gen Con will get inputted once I have the results back in the office (and will take a considerably longer amount of time to input).

You sir are in dire need of a familiar to take care of menial tasks like entering senario sheets. Might i suggest James Sutter? He plays a good imp.

Gary and Ross and I need to resolve the reporting issue first, then I'll be able to input the new events. I really don't want to just input a bunch of new problems. Soon.

Sorry to hear about the reporting issue (whatever it is) - may it be properly sledgehammered into functioning order soon!

Need some help? Some of us are programmers ;) If you get stuck, you have free technical support if you need it.

I may charge you the cost of "coming to Atlanta and run a senario" as payment if it takes more than a day to fix.

I was just going to ask about Gencon reporting which has already been covered.

Being a former LG judge I have been reporting all the scenarios run. Sometimes I have walk in players without a number but I report everyone who who has a number. I was wondering what to do about a player that has forgotten his PFS# and I assume cannot sign on to get it.

My big problem is the same repeated here by others.. no numbers. I think this will be the BIGGEST problem at the beginning of our on and off home games. Once I get everyone signed on.... by gods.

How do I tell if the coordinators input my games that I ran at a Con?

They are not showing up on my events (but since I had already played all the modules I ran I didn't sign my "dm character" up as a player.)

If I don't see it does that mean it hasn't been entered yet?

Correct. You'll need to check with your coordinator for that event.

As for PaizoCon and Gen Con--this week.

I guess I'm the only one who isn't reporting because I can't seem to get the webpage to work most of the time. I'll put in my judge number, nothing comes up. Fill everything out and then save and nothing is there. Try to put the DM number in again and get errors.
I finally just give up in frustration and can't find any phone number to call for help or anything. So, I'm about ready to just warn all players that I won't be reporting before they even sign up. I dont' know if it is something with my computer or something dumb I'm doing, but with no phone support that I can find, it just isn't getting done.

Seriously? The phone number is less than two inches below this line.

It's in the first line of the legal jargon at the bottom of every page on this site along with the customer service e-mail address.

Al, you could e-mail the campaign coordinator Josh Frost (josh@paizo.com) or you could describe in step-by-step detail what you are doing and where things are screwed up. Please don't give up reporting your sessions, it is very important to the campaign. Heck, you could even e-mail the details to another GM who is able to post sessions and they could do it for you.

You aren't the only one not reporting. The website is giving a lot of people a fit, but persistance + trial & error wins in the end.

Some thoughts: It might be a very simple problem that's causing the error. The GM number you're entering is just the four or five digit PFS# you were assigned when you first registered for PFS, right? With no -1, -2, -3 on the end? I know it sounds stupid, but I have to ask.

Whenever I report a session after I enter my GM number I always get an error message that my number was not recognized. This is actually a good sign since it has happened every time I've successfully reported a session. I just hit "OK" and keep on reporting. I do have to type in my real name, it doesn't auto-populate like a PFS character number does. I type in my real name exactly as it is registered under that member number. Do you get this error message when you enter your number?

We'll start there, and if you want to we can keep troubleshooting here or you can e-mail Josh. But don't give up :)

One of the things on the docket after the New Year is a big sit down with me and Ross so we can go over the Pathfinder Society website interface and see where it can use improvements. I think I'll start a thread about it in fact ...

Well, one thing that I'm having a problem with is paizo's website in general. I just wrote a detailed explanation of problems I'm having in seeing session reports showing up. Then I went to submit the post and the website lost the posting to the aether. This has happened a few times in these forums and I keep forgetting to copy my post before I hit submit.

Anyway, I've reported all the sessions I've ran, but when I check to see if the sesions show up on either my wife's character profile, or mine (as I was giving myself GM credit for one of the games) I notice that they aren't there. It does say that the sessions I ran were completely reported, but nothing shows up in the character section.

So is part of the problem just that there are bugs in the system?

Mok, I hate to sound like a jerk but I think it's user error. That's not to say the website doesn't have problems. I have also had my long posts disappear when I go to add them to the messageboard too. I learned the hard way just like you did.

If you have the patience to try and report your session again, please give it a shot. Chances are you 'completely reported' a blank session. I have done this too. Build another event, make sure to put a '1' in the Session # box, add the game information and hit 'Update'. Then hit 'Done for Now' and go check your Sessions under your username profile. If you see the session information there then you did it right. Go back to the Event page and 'Edit' your session again. When the blank session template appears put a '1' in the Session # box and hit 'Find'. Everything should populate like you had put it in there before. Now hit 'Mark as Completely Reported' (or however it's expressed). You should be good to go. If not, come back here and yell at me :)

Specifically, with regards to this issue, I'd personally copy every post before clicking "Submit Post." I do this on every messageboard I'm on because things can happen (server hiccups, severed connections, etc) that cause the post to fly into the ether, never to be seen again.

I have been out of the GMing scene for a while, now that i am back & TRYING to report scenarios played the site won't let me. It gives a drop-down box to "select scenario" but the text is all you can select. So that's my current issue. I have called your offices & gotten no reply, hope I can get one here.

In addition my name appears as Rocannon II not Aaron Andrews... what's up with that!

You will have to edit the actual event, and select the Scenario to be reported, then when you go to report the session you'll see that Scenario on the drop down list.

Website guys - updating the instructions to include this information may be helpful.

I have not GMed my current table yet but I am in the situation were our current GM does not post the sessions online. I think the main reason he does not is just laziness. Also he makes the claim that it does not matter. The paper record trumps all and so there is no reason for him to do it.

As for solutions: I know for a fact that our GM has claimed his credits for GMing these sessions. Is there anyway that you can restrict GM credit until the session has been reported? This way they can not apply credit to a character until they have reported that session for all players.

Liberty's Edge 5/5 **

I think most of it is laziness (which is a shame considering how easy reporting is). I am admittedly guilty of this myself. Sometimes it takes me 2-3 weeks before I force myself to sit down and spend the 2-3 minutes it takes to report a gameday.

He's almost correct. What he should says is that it doesn't matter to him, or to you as players. It does matter to the Paizo folks who want to understand where PFS games happen and how often (or another way of putting that is the size and frequency of PFS communities). This helps them understand strategic planning efforts, how well PFS is doing it's job and where resources need to be brought to bear for their maximum effectiveness.

So yeah, doesn't matter =)

Yup. If we see that there are a ton of games getting reported in Somewheresville, we'll look into setting up a Venture-Captain in the region to assist local GMs and game stores and act as a single point of contact for those individuals when seeking convention support, etc. We'll also look into possibly sending Paizo staff to conventions in areas we know there's a large PFS presence. So even if you don't care about whether we get marketing data from reporting, it does influence how much attention we divert to your area, and every table does count in determining regional activity.
