Haha, how in the world did Kara become the leader of this rabble? Oh well, might as way play along...
I didn't plan to write this, and while typing Mirama's post, I realized, Kara should take the lead.
I thought it a nice touch to the group dynamics - and nobody seemed to have another opinion... :)Malvoisin |
Hi guys, I finally summoned the courage to post again. I mainly just wanted to say hey, and that I'm really pleased that Scribbling
Rambler has got things moving forward for you again. Thank you sir, you're a good sort for doing it!
I'm not exactly sure what the future holds for me on these boards right now, but I did want to say hello at least. And say I'm sorry for disappearing again.
Count Buggula |
Mal! Thank you so much for saying hi! I was really worried about you. Don't worry about the long absence, I understand how life can throw you curve-balls. And then sometimes it throws you rocks instead (they hurt more).
Anyways, you're always welcome to come back and take the reigns, just because I think you do such a fantastic job, but if you don't I hope you at least stick around to follow the story you started and enjoy reading it.
Whatever you do, take care of yourself. I wish you the best.

Hey Mal! And don't worry so much! Just take it easy. We'll be here when you're ready. :)
Haha, how in the world did Kara become the leader of this rabble? Oh well, might as way play along...
It's all part of our master plan to get Kara to be more assertive so that she'll be prepared to throw off the chains of slavery.
That's my excuse. :)

Have we lost some players? We haven't heard from Craig (Martika) in ages - he hasn't posted anywhere on Paizo since June 3rd, and the only other players who are posting with any regularity are Val and Dryder.
So...if you're still around, could we get you to chime in here please? I really want to keep this game going, but we need both players and a DM to do so. Right now we've got a DM who's pretty on the ball getting things moving, but our players have lost some steam I think.
DM Rambler |
Don't forget, one of the missing players is the DM.
At some point soon, I will be attempting to recruit a replacement for Khalit. Even if Khalit sticks around, it would be best to have a PC arcane caster.
I have alternate methods to contact a couple of our quiet players, and will find out if this is just a lull.
Also, when we are in combat, I will be acting for characters if it is their turn and we don't get a post within 24 hours. Hope that's ok with people. If you know that you're going to be away for a bit, you can pre-post your actions in a spoiler, or let me know likely possibilities.
Fair?
I know it's going to take a bit to get back into the swing of things, but I am trying to get things flowing again.
Count Buggula |
Kara might be a sick little girl for awhile. That reminds me...need to adjust her character sheet...
edit: thank goodness for the favored class HP bonus - that didn't hurt me nearly as much as I though it would. Her hp went from 10 to 7. She's gonna be having a hard time with future fortitude saves though until she's better.

Hey all.
I'm thinking that I will post in Gamer Connection looking for a couple more players.
Craig has been writing like crazy, and has a lot of family commitments in the summer.
I was thinking that we could put the Al-Raedoth twins somewhere on the back burner, where they could come back if Craig and/or I start playing again.
I think that we may be at a reasonable point to work new characters in, or could be very shortly.
Thoughts?
In other news, each party member should now have 250 xp.

I think bringing in new character right now at such a remote location stretches the limits of credibility, but I'm all for bringing in some new players as soon as you can find a reasonable place to get them in. In fact, you could start recruiting now so they could have characters ready by the time we're at a place where they can join us.

250 xp total or in addition to what we had previously?

oops... I'll have to recheck my math. I had a different amount for what Mal gave us, and I forgot the scorpions.
I agree that new characters should not show up at the monastery.
Thadeous |
<-----------------Dark Minstrel here.
Hi all! Thanks for letting me join. I am reading all the game posts now, it looks interesting and fun.
The characters are all great.
DM Rambler: I posted all of Thadeous' stats for you to check. Had a couple of questions on the Raven familiar that are posted there too, nothing too important.
Thanks again!
Kara |
Welcome to the group! I only hope you have half as much fun reading and catching up as we've had playing so far. It's really been a great group, but unfortunately has seen its ups and downs with DM leaving, then players disappearing. Some of the characters are just so amazing that I can't give up on the game though - there's so much I want to see happen with this group. So thanks for joining us!
By the way my character is Kara. She's a little...troubled. And rather sick right now, but at least she can get over that.
Azten |
Hi everyone.
I'm looking forward to this game, since there are well-known gamers here.
Which should help with this question. If I have the Rich Parents Trait trait and the Duskwalker Agent (Katapesh), does that make my starting gold 1,800? I'll wait for some feedback before I actually go with the Duskwalker Agent (Katapesh) trait.
Azten |
Also, if its ok, while I'm waiting in Katapesh to meet up with the group, I would like to copy the scroll I purchased at the market to my spellbook.
You know... you could be my grandpa. You're 51, I'm 22. That means your son(or daughter), if you have one, could be my mom or dad and who just managed to marry a wealthy elf. You could also be the reason I'm dangerously curious when it comes to magic items, seeing as your a wizard.
Just a thought.

Hi DB3! Interesting idea. Except Thadeous is a 51 year old virgin hehe. He spent too many years with his nose in books in the library.
But I can see he is going to have to keep an eye on his magical gear around the curious young Azten. )

Hmmm... I suppose that would be okay. However, you need to take one of the Campaign Traits, so the only way to get that combination would be if you took the Extra Traits feat.
EDIT: Ah, I see that is what you have done. Yes, you start with a mitt full of cash.

Scribbling Rambler wrote:Ah, I see that is what you have done. Yes, you start with a mitt full of cash. All bought at a 10% discount. Be honest, is it a good character? Last time I built and played a paladin was 3-4 years ago...
I'll have a more exhaustive look at him over the weekend.
Dragonborn3 |
I did some math, and found out I can buy a Golorian Staff of Healing with 1 charge left for 532 gold and 8 silver. Thought I should check before I use up most of his remaining gold(and silver). With a cleric(or a 4th lv paladin) the staff can be recharged as we go. I wouldn't advise it for everyday, as the spell slot given up may be needed later on, but if we ever have some down time it would be something to do.
Again, I thought I should check and make sure this was okay, as I'm not even sure it is possible to buy such a staff in Katapesh.

Since the blood tie is out, how about a mutual interest in magic?
I was just kidding ) Being a paladin I know he would never do anything untrustworthy (metagame knowledge). But yes, I think that Thadeous is definately the type to want to help others learn about magic, especially someone so curious =) (More metagame knowledge hehe)
Hi all! Looking forward to gaming with everyone.

Hmmm.. I'm going to say that one is not available.
I also think that your math is incorrect in this case. If you are pricing by charges, staves now only have 10, so the price would be 2,960 gp for a 1 charge staff.
And I'm not sure that staves are still priced by charges in the Beta rules. It seems silly that you could buy it at 10% and charge it to full over the next week or so.
Do you know if there has been a clarification thread on this?
Count Buggula |
Ok, my tactically minded logic says that we should stay at the monastery, that Kara should tough it out and we'd clear the place out before heading back for help. That's really what I'd do.
However, I think I'm gonna go with the gamist perspective on this one. We're down to only Val and I posting with any regularity, and it's gonna be difficult (and boring) trying to get through the rest of the encounters there with just the two of us and the DM keeping things going with the rest of our party as NPCs. So...I'm gonna make a call here and say we should go back. We can do it a few different ways - we could all make the trip back, or we could split up.
I'm actually leaning more for splitting up. We can have our lost players (and Khalit) escort Kara back to the campsite while the rest hold our position at the monestary (barracade themselves in the room or something). Then when we get back, Kara can take the new folks back to the monastery. It would even give her a good opportunity for using the "message" spell to contact the party upon arrival.
Thoughts?

I knew I was forgetting something. Thanks for the reminder. I'm not sure there is a thread about staves, but I could be wrong.

Estranged uncle? Older brother? Old man with a spellbook I helped across the street? Etc, etc... ;)
At this point I'm just kidding...
That's funny =)
