I'm struggling to make any free time. Should get a free few minutes tomorrow morning (like in twelve hours or so) to get back into a regular rhythm.
Sorry for the hiatus - I Haven't lost any enthusiasm, I promise.
Seems to be the same for everyone...My pbp is slow at the mo, and even Aubrey's Eberron has only had a handful of posts in the last few days, and that's unheard of...

Jaken tilts his head and listens...
Is that crickets he hears?
Everyone still here? :)
Just to be clear, that wasn't "my God things are taking forever" (have you seen the rate of my PbP lately?). Losk is in all honesty asleep at this point, and I wanted to check in!

No doubt you've all noticed, but I am struggling to post every day. End-of-Financial-Year is a hectic time and I can't see things improving in the next few weeks - sorry about that.
If you're all fine with continuing at a slightly slower pace - I'm still keen. However, I'll understand if it's not moving fast enough for you though - just let me know if you'd rather pull out.

Javell and I are in, as long as Nevynxxx sticks around, too. It's a shame we're hitting a lull when the party is a bit split up and we can't chat amongst ourselves to pass the time; Douena and Garai could probably fill a page with small talk, especially if Elysia the chatterbox joined in.

I can definitely jump in with the chattering, but it may take a little longer for me to switch from beta to final. I'm leaving tomorrow to stay with friends for a week and there's only so much stuff I can take with me. And a lot I need to do before I go. I get to be the one at the house the following week, so I'll have access to the books then. (Obviously there's some family troubles involved here.)

If you have time on your hands (and internet access) while away from home, there's always the PRD.
(Not trying to rush you or anything. I don't know when I'll get around to fixing up Douena; she's going to take rebuilding from the ground up with the cleric changes from Beta to Final. But I actually prefer working from the PRD, particularly when the "character sheet" is on the computer to begin with.)

Thanks. I don't know how much I'll be able to get internet access, but that at least gives me a possible way to work on stuff if I do get some free time. And you know I can't stay off the internet for a whole week even if I end up camping at McDonalds just for the wi-fi. :)

Hey all! It has been a while. Hope everyone's doing well.
Had a question about Zerekias, Monty. Was wondering if I could tweek Z to a 1st barbarian/5th ranger? After about 4 or 5 days of running him, (it was obviously to late at the time), I thought that really fit his persona.

Hi Javell. I'm happy with that - given we're switching over to pathfinder-final it's a good chance to make any tweaks like this.

Monty Haul |

Ohhh, need to upgrade Garai to final...Cool...
*nod* Since everyone is set to start up, perhaps everyone can post their characters here once your done updating. (I'm not going to check over them particularly carefully since I'm sure you all know the rules better than me anyhow...nonetheless, it will let me know when we're ready to begin again).

Just about done. I'm having a real tough time with the camel seeing how they didn't include it in the Bestiary. I posted this in a separate thread:
In the Core, the camel is a d4 dmg. There is obviously no numbers on his attack.
The Bestiary says: Natural Attacks Most creatures possess one or more natural attacks (attacks made without a weapon). These attacks fall into one of two categories, primary and secondary attacks. Primary attacks are made using the creature's full base attack bonus and add the creature's full Strength bonus on damage rolls. Secondary attacks are made using the creature's base attack bonus –5 and add only 1/2 the creature's Strength bonus on damage rolls. If a creature has only one natural attack, it is always made using the creature's full base attack bonus and adds 1-1/2 the creature's Strength bonus on attack rolls.(I'm guessing that the 1-1/2 Str bonus to a attack rolls is an error and they mean damage)
This increase does not apply if the creature has multiple attacks but only takes one. If a creature has only one type of attack, but has multiple attacks per round, that attack is treated as a primary attack, regardless of its type. Table: Natural Attacks by Size lists some of the most common types of natural attacks and their classifications.
It also says, in the Bestiary under Animal: Proficient with its natural weapons only. A noncombative herbivore treats its natural weapons as secondary attacks. Such attacks are made with a –5 penalty on the creature's attack rolls, and the animal receives only 1/2 its Strength modifier as a damage adjustment.
That's what it was in 3.5. Now which one do I use?
Also, is it possible to use the war camel from Sandstorm and tweak it per Core? Or is that just making things even more complicated?
Outside of all that, the class levels animal companions now get, is that all they get? There are no more feats included with the creature? No more HD as well? You just get only what the class lvls give you?
If any of you can help me with this, and whatever will work for you Monty, would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry about all the hassle.

Douena Trestleben |

I think Douena's good to go, except that I'm going to have to read back through the thread to figure out how many spells she's cast "today." I'm pretty sure she used all her Beta domain powers already (one of the reasons we were putting off going to the Crook Bearer's), so we'll just start fresh with the Final version of her domains in the morning.

Okay, I know people really liked them and all (well, not me, I've pretty much not been a fan from the get-go) but all the spoiler tags are making it virtually impossible to catch up on what is actually going on in the thread. Is there any chance that we can get the party back together soon? Or at least drop the spoilers? As far as I can tell we're still watching for the chelaxians somewhere outside (inside?) an inn of some sort. Or maybe they just left? A long hiatus and too many spoilers have left me pretty confused.
Edit: Sorry if that sounds overly cranky. I don't mean it that way. More plaintive, not cranky.

Point taken - I'm getting relatively confident that Douena is about to hit a brick wall and come back to the rest of you (although she is a little unpredictable...). No doubt she'll have half a dozen plots, schemes and plans cooked up by then.
A brief summary of the state of play at the moment - you, Garai and Zerekias are outside the inn where you were hoping to meet up with Lonicera. She never showed and neither has Douena, however the halfling member of the chelaxian party was spotted watching you from just outside the tavern. You went out and saw him darting down a darkened alley. Zerekias is heading there now, you and Garai are presumably about to follow.

You know, we'd all be together right now if the DM didn't keep throwing monkey wrenches into Douena's best plans! ;P
As a rule, I like the spoiler tags -- wish I could work out a way of doing it at the table to keep PCs from suddenly "intuiting" when a party member needs help and going to look for him -- but when it goes on for several pages, it does get excessive. And, of course, it's entirely my fault. I'm just having a hard time finding a way of getting Douena out of her current groove without doing something like "Douena suddenly does something compeletely out of character and decides to just let it go."

Joanna (Sorry Lynora...):
Let's face it - it's not just the spoilers, a five month hiatus didnt really help keep a handle on the story did it? I promise you are all heading back together very soon (with the inevitable Douena-required caveats, of course).

I used to have the same issue when my parents visited from out-of-state. They'd be here about half an hour before I'd be wishing they were out of my house. About 18 months ago, they moved about 3 blocks up the street from us, and it's been mostly better since then as we're on each other's "turf" for shorter periods of time.

She is planning on moving countries some time "soon". My wife has mixed feelings - on the one hand it will be good to see her more than annually. On the other...it's good she only has to deal with her annually.
