Pat/Yomi
I seem to be rolling hot at the moment. Try this for size.
LoF v F5 LoF v F5 (Ref) (1d20 3=22, 1d8 5=11)
Move behind tree to O16

Yomi |

Pat, sorry about not posting as soon as I could.
Save (Still blind it seems) 1d20=7, Lance of Faith vs. F3 Attack 1d20+8=23, Radiant Damage 1d8+5=12
Move action - Yomi guides himself to P16 using the tree as a sort of crutch.

Blindness is a through-next-turn thing, so you'll be clear in a moment. However, f3 was not in Lance range when you went blind, so I'm not sure how you'd make that attack. In the interest of moving things along, I'll shift your target to Rev's choice, f5, which hits and kills him, even after the -5.
The fey, roaring with rage, draw greatswords and charge in. They become visible again next to Scathach and Elias, one hitting (and blinding) the cat, the other missing Elias.
Eglantine, seeing Cyrus in trouble, darts in and scores a raking blow along the boar's flank, causing it to scream in pain.
The witch (f3) aims her wand at the new threat and casts a spell to darken Eglantine's mind and vision.
She then advances on Yomi and Bren, catching half the party in her veil of darkness. "Swear fealty or die," she cries from the shadow.
-8hp to Scathach and blind; -8hp to Eggers and she has no LoS beyond 2 squares (save ends).
Elias and Yomi are no longer blind.
Starting a turn (Bren, Elias, and Scathach) or entering the aura causes 5hp necrotic, moving in it is difficult terrain for her enemies.
Eglantine:
Elias, Bren, and Catriana are up.

Catriana Windrunner |

Catriana stops her chant and quickly calls Elias to move away from the magic aura of darkness. Use Virtue of Cunning to move Elias to Q10, so he wont take 5 damage at the beginning of his turn
Catriana then turns her attention to the huge boar next to Eglantine and Cyrus. Pointing her wand to it, she conjures a force bolt to appear next to Bren which flies toward the boar, hitting it.
Misdirected Mark on b1 (reflex); Damage (1d20+7=22, 1d8+5=9) If it hits, the boar is marked by Bren.

Elias will go before Catriana, so let's check his actions first when he posts. Good idea, though.

My mistake -- rules don't work that way. Start of turn stuff happens at the moment you delay, not when you take your turn. So there's no avoiding the damage for Elias, Bren, and Scathach. Elias, do you still want to delay?

Elias |

You're correct, Pat. I'd forgotten that too. And I would still like to delay. It will set me up nicely for some stuff. Like so. I am now in Q9 thanks to Catriana. Shift Elias to P8 and Scathach to P10 as a Move action. HQ f2 as a minor. Circling Strike +10 thanks to flanking - 28 vs AC. Damage 8. From the power, Scathach shifts to Q9. Action Point - Second Wind for both Elias and Scathach.
Elias and his friend work their unique blend of iron and claw on the fey.

JZ's Bren |

Move to N-13
Standard : Reaping Strike against f3
1d20+10-2=19 vs AC
Damage 1d12+5=7
If I miss, I still do 4 damage (reaping strike effect)

![]() |

The darkness spoils Bren's aim, but he still strikes the witch a glancing blow, even as he himself takes damage from the shadows.
Catriana distracts the boar attacking Cyrus, wounding it.
Elias and his friend work their unique blend of iron and claw on the fey, killing one of the last males, then recovering from the damage of the shadows.
The boars, grunting and squealing, attack the nearest targets, goring Eglantine (CRIT -13hp) and Elias (-12hp) respectively.
Cyrus, Yomi

![]() |

Yomi lines up on the remaining fey hunter and arcs a lance of radiance at him, but again the shadows block his aim.
The fey warrior, in turn, draws his greatsword and turns invisible, appearing again nearly behind Bren and attacking -8hp to Bren
Bren, correct.
Eglantine and Cyrus are up

Eglantine Prakseda |

Pain makes Eglantine less effective than usual as she tries once more to stab the boar.
Sly Flourish v B1 (1d20 10=17, 1d4 6=8, 2d8=6). Manually amended to take account of flanking bonus.
Backing away, she calls to Cyrus, "Get out. Now," and heads to the nearest tree.
Fear gives her legs unusual strength and she tries to clear her mind of the dark fey's power, but fails.
Move to C15 and climb tree. Risking OA at AC21.
Athletics to climb tree (1d20 8=25)
Save v effects (1d20=7)

Cyrus unleashes a sonic blast (thunderwave) against the boar, but the beast is too massive to be easily pushed. The wizard then prudently ducks behind the tree.
The witch then angles for position on Bren and reaches out her bare hand and touches Bren on the chestplate of his armor, and sickly green flames burst forth, burning the fighter.
12hp fire and necrotic to Bren
Bren, Catriana, Elias. Bren takes another -5hp from the zone at the start of his turn.

Catriana Windrunner |

Catriana realizes her dangerous position and quickly climbs another tree to protect herself from the huge boar nearby. Climb at L17
Acrobatics to climb tree (1d20+6=25)
From her tree, Catriana points an eldritch bolt of energy which flies toward the boar.
Eldritch Blast vs. b1(Reflex); Damage (1d20+7=19, 1d10+5=11)
I'll wait for Bren's action before I decide if Catriana should use a healing power.

JZ's Bren |

Beaten almost senseless within the space of a few breaths, Bren decides that discretion is indeed the better part of valor.
Minor : Unstoppable
Gain 2d6+3=13 temporary HP.
I have myself at 27 real HP, 40 effective HP.
Standard : Total Defense
+2 to to all defenses.
Shift to O14

![]() |

Elias and Scathach shift to encircle the boar, then launch a devastating coordinated attack.
Enclose the Prey, flanking, crit -- 25hp to b2
The boar responds by attacking Scathach, leaving himself open to Elias, and their attacks block each other. The other boar circles after Cyrus, but misses.
Yomi

![]() |

Yomi moves for better line of sight (and, incidentally, further from the writhing shadows) and aims a lance of holy light at f1, incinerating the last of the fey hunters, to howls of outrage from the witch. He also invokes the Raven Queen's blessing on Bren heal surge + 9
Eglantine, Cyrus

Eglantine Prakseda |

Jump from tree plus falling damage (minus half skill check) (1d20 10=21, 1d10=9). Way too close for comfort!
Jumping awkwardly out of the tree, Eglantine just manages to keep her balance and steps forward to get a sightline on the boar. Venom gives her attack all the added accuracy she needs. Nodding in satisfaction, she scrambles back up another tree. As she finds her footing, she also finds her sight clearing. A small, vindictive smile crosses her face as she looks towards the fey witch.
"That lady is going down." she mutters.
Deft strike - allows move of 2 before attack - one for the jump, one for the step.
Deft Strike v Boar 1. (AC) (1d20 10=30, 1d4 4=5). Crit. 8 damage only. No Sneak Attack alas.
Back up the tree at E19 (DC10) (1d20 8=11)
Save v witchy effect (1d20=18)

Cyrus the Mentalist |

Cast Eyebite at B1 with Wand of Accuracy(+2), then move to L8, hopefully invisible to B1.
Eyebite, 1d20+6=8 vs B1 Will, miss, move to L8
Cyrus hightails it away from the boar as he realizes there lack of targets the boar has to choose from and realizing his own ineptitude in accurately casting this encounter.

![]() |

Can Catriana see the caster fey in the middle of her aura of darkness from her tree?
Yes, just concealment. Also, FYI, Bren shouldn't have been able to shift -- it's difficult terrain to her enemies. I caught it too late to fix, but for future reference . . .
The witch advances on Bren and striking him again with her open hand -12hp to Bren
Bren taking -5, Catriana

JZ's Bren |

Bren recoils from the fey witch's slap. Clutching the side of his face, he realizes he just allowed a woman to slap him. Howling with rage, the fighter lets loose with his axe.
Standard : Crushing Blow
1d20+10-2=23 vs AC
Damage 2d12+1+4+3=23
Sorry about the shift, BTW.

Catriana Windrunner |

Catriana conjures another bolt which appears next to Bren, then flies towards the boar, hitting it again.
Misdirected Mark vs b1(Ref.); Damage (1d20+7=27, 1d8+5=7) Crit=13 damage, B1 is marked by Bren.
Glancing again at Bren, she decides not to heal him yet, but to wait for a better opportunity.

Eglantine Prakseda |

On her turn
Eglantine's eyes narrow and she jumps easily from the tree again, moving closer to the boar.
Jump from tree (1d20 10/2=20, 1d10=6). Safe enough this time.
Her dagger spins in her fingers as she hurls it at the snorting monster, hoping to distract it from Bren. The twinkling blade glances off the beast's thick hide and she moves swiftly away, swinging herself up into the branches of another tree.
Deft Strike v B1 (1d20 8=16, 1d4 4=8)
Climb a tree (1d20 8=21). The tree at H15 please.
