Ulven was a young warrior of his tribe, happy and carefree until the dragon came to his village. When the others ran, he stood and the dragon's breath struck him fully, melting away his flesh. Still he stood and his temerity intrigued the dragon long enough for the wizards to arrive. When the dragon was butchered and Ulven's flesh healed as well as it could be, the village presented him with armor made from the dragonhide. But no magic could restore his face or his carefree nature. From that day on he nursed a barely contained core of rage that he uses as a tool to smite his enemies.
Most likely he's in Sandpoint as a layover or possibly to meet up with another player or possibly to hunt down Bruthazamus. He mostly roams the countryside since his scarred face and cold demeanor makes him unpleasant to be around for long periods and scares small children.
As a character, he's quiet, cold and often comes across as angry. His extreme scarring has caused him to doubt his own social skills, so he acts gruffer to keep people away.

Have't seen anything from Memento Mori or Young Arbiter since the opening posts. I hope we havent lost them already. We have one alternate interested in playing if that is that case though.
Hey man I know i am not in your game but I know mori and he was over he last night bumming a book to finish up his pc. As far as I know he is still a go for ya. He is new at pbp and seems not to get that he may need to check in to let ya know he is still in.
I have lost a few that just never showed up , just thought I would let ya know

No intrsion, thanks for the heads up. I'll keep watching the boards for him. I lead a very busy life so I understand sometimes its hard to get to a PC from day to day.

Just a thought but if this character is fine any problem if he Rhade and Baran make a trio?
Similar goals they all have some elven link and it sounds like they would have met up and worked together at some point

Okay time for a quick summation of the party
David Fryer as Dirdelle the half-elf cleric/rogue. DONE
Memento Mori as Catalina the elven wizard. {waiting on character}
Hopeless as Rhade the half-elf ranger. DONE Approved to post
Aaron Whitley as Baran Caranthir the elven rogue. DONE
Aebliss as Ree Luskan the half-orc sorcerer. DONE
Jason Beardsley as Halungalom the gnome sorcerer. {waiting on character; started}
Young Arbiter as ???? a half-orc barbarian. {waiting on character}
James Martin as Ulven Dragonskin an elven barbarian. DONE
I realy hope that Mori and Arbiter are still interested. Seeker of Shadowlight seems to think that Mori will be finishing his character soon but I havent seen anything from Arbiter since his opening posts. I am going to post the opening thread today so that those of you who are done can get started. I am making one main opening post and then special intro posts for the specific characters. You can start posting as soon as you see an into post with you characters name on it.

Ulven would be up for it, as long as you don't mind long stretches of nothing but stares and scowls. And then short bursts of screams and slashing... Alliterative today, am I.

As we get started I just wanted to share with the group my style of posting. I like to make one DM post for each turn or round and then wait for one post from each character describing thier actions for that turn / round. Try to keep your posts to what the character can do in that turn or round only. Feel free to make as many free actions posts [like converstaion] as you want. For combat I will list Initiative orders in my post so you can see when your action will fall even though you will probably not be posting in that order. Go ahead and make all attack rolls and Damage rolls in advance to speed up the posting. Please use Invisible Castle for all dice rolling.
The most important rule is to have fun. Portray your characters and enjoy the story as it unfolds. I am always open to suggestions and comments from the group to help make the game better and remember that the only dumb question is an unasked one.

I have a few questions I'd like to ask, actually:
1) What is the official position on player-vs.-player conflicts? How serious can they get? (Personally, I dislike PvP battles.)
2) What happens if one of our characters should die? Does the player have the option of forwarding a new character, is there always going to be the option of resurrection/reincarnation, or are they just out of the game?
3) What kind of level are we likely to have attained by the end of the game? (I know, it's shameless metagame thinking, but I like to do a bit of planning ahead with regards to feats and skill ranks.)
| Halungalom |
Everything is there, i'll have to clean it up later. Just wanted to say the gnome sorcerer is ready. As i know nothing about Sandpoint or the surrounding area, would it be too much of a stretch to say i'm new to the area? Let me know how my equipment is also. I think i have a total of 2700gp in wands and potions. I even have an entertainers outfit ;)

All great questions. I hope you like the answers.
1) I don't mind charater conflict and or disagrements but I too dont care for Player vs. Player combat. I extend this to doing things to other characters to harm that charaters efforts to advance. Like stealing or purposely getting the PC in to trouble with NPC's. So far every one has had a good alignment so I think we will be Okay with that.
2) Characters die somtimes but not thier players. If a there isn't a way in the game to heal, or revive a dead character I will allow the PC to create a new one in its place at a level equal to the charater that died.
3) To be honest I do not know. I have not mapped out a full adventure path but do hope that we will be able to continue the game for several levels. As long as the game is fun and the players keep playing I will keep extending the adventures baring any unforeseen real life issues that would prevent that.

Looks good, I'll get you an entrance post soon. Do you have a character background?
| Mythril DM |
Halungalom, Catalina and Etrac have and entrance post now. Without backgrounds I kept it somewhat generic so that you can still be from Sandpoint or just arrived if you'd like.
I am going to wait for them to each post before making my next DM post.
FYI. I created a calander for use with my Rise of the Runelords home game that I am using for this PBP as well. Pharast is the 3rd month of the year (March) and the spring equinox is about three weeks away. For those of you familiar with the Rise of the Runelords AP I have decieded to set this adventure prior to that. The swallowtail festival of the AP will occur in a few monts so the temple here is underconstruction with plans to reopen it and dedicate it on the first day of Autumn.
To save me a lot of excess typing I am going to assume that the players know about things in Sandpoint. IF you dont and you think its somthing you should or would know and my posts dont make it clear please post a question in this thread and i clarify it for you.
Thanks
EDIT:sorry for the bad typos I have been up all day and night. Must go get rest now.

The question is if he is telling the truth what did he encounter out here?
If not why go to all this trouble and get wounded, if he is lying he must like getting hurt, if he is telling the truth where did it go?
Back down the sewer?
If so why did it bother coming up here?
What was it doing or planned to do?

I have noticed in PBP that usually after the first encounter we lose some people for whatever reason. Before I post the next encounter at the temple I want to get a role call of who is still with us. Just post a reply to this leting me know your still in. Because of the Holidays I wont be making my next DM post until after Christmas.
I hope eveyone has a Happy Holidays.

Good to see we still have interest. Holdiays and work have me bogged down so posting time has been limited. On top of that we are moving to another city in 10 days so I am tied up with a lot of packing and such. I will try to keep things going but it might slow down a bit until I get settled. Until I get a job in the new city I have a 3 hr round trip commute to work so Im not going to have a lot of free time.

Good question. I don't know if it's still hopping, so I guess we go on hiatus until the director returns. I say we give him until the end of February. If at that point he's still DOA, we can either call the whole thing off or one of us can go over to the Dark Side and DM.
His last post said something about moving and real life being troublesome. I figure we can give him time and see what comes of it.
