Craft Poison

I have a player in a PbP I'm running that took Craft (poison) and wants to be able to make her own poison darts. Unfortunately we're having a hard time figuring out just how the mechanic works. According to the entry in the Craft skills section, we need:

1. The items's price in silver pieces
2. The DC (it points to pg 55, which I believe is a typo - should be pg 59)
3. The price for the cost of raw materials

Unfortunately, while I found a good list of poisons in the Glossary section, it has no prices or DCs or raw materials associated with them. There's no mention of poisons on the table on pg 59 either. Am I missing something somewhere? Is this just a part of the rules that hasn't been fleshed out yet and will be added later? I'd really like give this a try, and would hate to have to tell my player to change her character because we can't do poison yet.

Here's a list of the SRD poisons, with price in gold pieces. Raw materials and Craft DC is a bit trickier, as those are not listed. For price of raw materials, I would halve the sell price, and set the Craft DC equal to the DC listed.

The Alpha had additional poisons listed, but they're not in the beta print (haven't checked the beta pdf yet...). As for craft DCs and the like, no rules that I have found yet. I have a druid planning to poison his darts in a similar theme - I just had him take Craft (Alchemy) to give him a wider number of items to create, and figured when he ran across poisonous items he could "harvest" it to create poisons, and I'd get the rest from the additional poisons listed in the Alpha pdf I found.

Ok, that at least gets me started in the right direction, thanks for the link to poisons on the d20 site - I don't know why I didn't think to look there (although I've really been trying to limit myself to Pathfinder sources for this playtest).

So my next question is this - assuming she crafts up some poison, how much does she get to use? Is it enough for a batch of darts or arrows or bolts or is it only enough for one weapon?

I would allow one "Batch" of poison coat one large/medium weapon (most swords), 2 small weapons (daggers and the like), 10 Arrows/bolts, or 20 Darts

I think # of "doses" is is the best measure, and don't see why it would take substantially more poison to deliver a dose by Dagger vs. Arrow vs. Dart. I suppose larger weapons could be capable of being treated with MORE doses, which would either increase the DC (~Aid Another), or allow multiple Poisoning attempts before being used up. (I would go with multiple usages in general, though certain Exotic Weapons might allow "high dose delivery" for the DC increase (at cost of multiple dosages)) In any case, I think # of dosages is simple & understandable: introducing an ADDITIONAL sub-system for the interaction between weapon type and the # of weapons treated by a Batch seems too micro-managing for Pathfinder.

Hmm...ok, thanks for the ideas. It would really be nice if there was some sort of official rule for this mechanic instead of just making something up. I'll probably go with 1 batch having a certain amount of uses before she has to craft again for our purposes right now (I just need to determine what's a fair amount) until we get something more solid from Paizo.
