but that doesn't mean they didn't win a legitimate victory against a legitimate, and very tough opponent.
Well, I think you could have phrased things a little differently. It is also not a very apt comparison. In the one case you have a football team that made it to a game that you feel they should not have been in, and the other is a horrific violent crime that can completely ruin someone's life. They are not comparable at all.

Whoda thunk college football would be as venemous a subject as politics and religion.
Reminds me of the joke that says football in Texas is not a matter of life or death. It's MUCH more important than that.

Less of this please.

That do not even rank on anywhere nere the same scale.
Those seniors from Georgia will never have another shot at a collegiate title, a title they rightly should have challenged for. That's something that was unjustly taken from them that they'll never get back and they have to deal with that for the rest of their lives. Surely there was emotional damage dealt to many Bulldog alumni and fans as well. Perhaps some of this damage led to serious depression and/or immediate or eventual suicides. Same thing goes to a lesser extent to the seniors and supporters of Kansas and Virginia Tech. But you're right. Emotional damage leading to the possible deaths of thousands pales in comparison to one rape.

I'm in Texas.
A Gator fan.
In Texas. There's no Georgia fans to harass.
Everybody here cannot tell UF from FSU.
There's a bunch of LSU and ARKANSAS fans and that's it.
No. You are in Dallas, which I like to call "South Oklahoma". If you were in, say, Houston, I could provide you with several UGA fans to torment, many people who know the difference between the Seminoles and the Gators, and other such niceties.
And Mr. Fryer, Football is Religion in Texas. (As an aside, look at the percentage of former Texas high school players currently suiting up on Sundays in the NFL. You may be amazed.) Seriously, if you're familiar with "Friday Night Lights", the passion for high school football in Texas is very understated in that movie...

I think you confused me with Heathy. I currently split my worship time between the Church of the Crimson Tide and the First Trinity Congregational Church of the Forty-Niners. And my Alma Mater, Long Beach Polytechnic, has more active NFL players than any other high school in America. Texas who? ;p

Bah, lesser apostate churches...
...and as to this "polytechnic" thingy, well, that's one school, we in Texas have enough talent to spread the wealth, so to speak ;)
actually, you and Gary having the same avatar confused me, sorry ;)

Ah, but who's going to be playing for the National Championship?

You may have your fancy churches down wherever you've been, but back up North in the Salt Lake Valley, we've got the Holy War. Your petty interfaith squabbles pale in comparison to the massive crusade that is launched annually along the mountainside.
And for the record, I think the Utes should at least have a shot at the National title at some point. Even just a chance to play for a chance to play in the championship.

I completely agree, as I think Boise State should have had a shot a couple of years ago. I hate to beat this into the ground, but only TWO of the "BCS" conferences are actually "special", and the ACC/PAC-10/Big 10/Big East ain't them.
It is patently rediculous that some schools are effectively frozen out because they are in a "lesser" conference, when they'd probably WIN the Big East/Big 10/ACC were they to play in those comferences (I omit the Pac-One from that list as USC is normally VERY good year in-year out in the BCS era, and the Utes, Boise St. and the like might compete, but would probably finish second.)
Eh, there is NO defending the joke that is the BCS...

That's because the T-Birds aren't worth talking about and haven't been since 2002. Maybe our basketball team can at least end with a winning record this year. The football team tried, but they screwed it up, as usual.

Seriously, has 'Bama scored an offensive touchdown yet? Just asking ;)
(I kinda like the Utes though. I hope Texas gets to play them instead of Ohio (Choke) State in their bowl, it would be an epic game.)

Is that the best you've got? Cause back in 2001 the Ravens went to the Super Bowl without having scored a touchdown at all in like five games. You'll have to come up with a better reason then that to deny us our due shot. ;p

You're right. It probably is annoying. I'll change mine to get rid of the confusion.

I went and covered my boss' 2007 LSU TIGERS National Champions magnet with sticky notes with an "8" and a "Florida Gators" just for you.
That's OK, I heard they're frauds anyway...
Besides, it doesn't matter. I'm sure Saban has some master plan to destroy the Gators on the field and leave Tebow on the sidelines as a mewling lump of quivering, tear-stained, "I need a hug" flesh.
ROLL TIDE!!!
