Ready for the big game?

Hey, we still got the Orange Bowl tonight. Go, Iowa!

Dark Archive

You mean the consolation bowl?

Nah, that was last night. Glad Boise St won, though.

Liberty's Edge

The Orange Bowl?

Georgia Tech V. Iowa?

Dude, I've gotten more excited by watching curlers watch paint dry...

Sorry, but I have to promote my big 10 schools because we get picked on a lot nationally.

%I'm a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech and a Helluva Engineer!

Dude, I'll be excited for you then. Go enjoy those curlers. ;-)

Liberty's Edge

Engineering is cool. GT football? Well, that's another story.

Seriously, I feel bad for the Orange Bowl, other than a year they have the N.C., they're pretty much resigned to having no ratings...

Dark Archive

Last night was the coldest Orange Bowl in history.

Well Michigan doesn't help...

New Years day, at a friend's house.

Melissa: My high school team sucked this year, and last year.

Me: Well I know it doesn't affect you, graduating and all, but if they suck next year, under Ohio law, they can change the school mascot to a Wolverine. :-)

Roll Tide!

There's a game tonight? Interesting, I always thought the national championship game was supposed to be the last bowl of the year.

This is the National Championship.

No, we crowned the undefeated National Champion when Boise State won a couple of nights ago.

Ha Ha Ha Ha

That's a good one. :)

You weren't serious were you? :(

;)

Liberty's Edge

That's gotta be one of the most amazing National Championship games I ever saw.
I give full props to Texas for coming back with a freshman quarterback and almost winning that game. I didn't have a horse in that race other than "woooooooo! SEC! SEC!" pride; I almost went to sleep at halftime. But damn if Texas didn't stage an impressive comeback there.

Ultimately, what is gained by caring?

I'm having a rather bad day all around. I had to leave the sports bar tonight before I knocked the teeth down a Bama fan's throat for cheering about Colt getting hurt.

Yeah, Bama fan, stay classy...

Yeah, I really felt bad for McCoy. This wasn't the way he wanted to go out, but he sucked it up and gave the appropriate responses at the end when he was interviewed after the game.

What I cracked up on was when Nicky Satan got the Gatorade bath. Turned right into it. But was he going to allow himself to smile and celebrate? Noooooooo. He's Nicky Satan. :D

Scarab Sages

Well, congrats to Bama for the win. Texas put in a great effort. Sucks to see that McCoy got hurt so soon in the game. I didn't actually watch it. Been feeling bad with this cold I have, plus I had to continue my review of Crypt of the Everflame - I'm running it for my gaming group on Saturday! Huzzah!

Anyway, again I say Congrats to National Champion Alabama, and huzzah for the SEC!!!

Yeah, that really sucked fo Texas. I still think Bama would have won if he had stayed in but it would have been a much tighter game over all. Still for playing with an untested freshman who had not hardly touched the ball all season and playing eventually with a backup center, I thought exas did extrodinarally well.

That freshman had some serious zip on the ball, but he kinda had that Tebow windup which makes the motion to throw the ball last longer than it should. But he lacked the experience in his timing as to when to launch the ball to make sure it gets in the right receiver's hands. Kinda like the Sanchize.

Considering what happened on the fake punt, good chance Texas goes up 14-0, not 6-0, with Colt in. And the end of the half INT for a TD doesn't happen.

Colt going out was the best thing that happened for 'Bama.

As to the Gatorade bath, Saban had told his kids not to do it. He's a humorless one, Nicky Satan...
